Our client is a large UK Infrastructure company based in Warrington, they are seeking an IT Systems Support Technician.
Job Purpose:
To provide first and second line support for BBMM staff, assisting them with hardware and software issues.
To assist IT Support Team Leader in ensuring a high level of service across BBMM contracts, through timely and effective issue resolution.
To gather information to make recommendations to support the continuous improvement, and ensure IT service delivery is maintained at an optimum level.
Dimensions of the Role (Budgetary, Assets and/or Staff Responsibilities)
Provide support to a multi-site network delivering IT equipment; business applications; office solutions; and e-mail and other services as required.
Implement improvements and maintenance support and liaise with IT service providers as required.
Provide desktop and application assistance to users BBMM offices and depots.
Principal Responsibilities / Key Duties:
Overall:
To establish and maintain IT infrastructure and systems to meet the requirements for delivery of the Area 10 Asset Support Contract.
Principle Accountabilities
* Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support maintaining a high degree of customer service for all support queries, and adhere to all Balfour Beatty IT policies and procedures.
* To perform local management and configuration of SQL databases, active directory components, printer and group policy administration, IP telephony, RSA console and proxy administrative duties.
* To perform 3rd Party logging of incidents and change requests with IT service providers, and perform basic fault finding and diagnosis as required.
* Work with end users to identify opportunities to improve existing systems, procedures and applications by a process of investigation and analysis.
* Provide, where appropriate, training and training material for end-users in the use of IT systems and applications.
Maintain the register for all hardware and software assets and perform regular audit
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
* Two to three years’ experience in user support within a network environment involved in service delivery, infrastructure development, support and maintenance
* Multi-skilled to provide comprehensive support service across multiple, sites
Experience - essential:
* Will have successfully taken part in at least one major systems implementation.
* Demonstrated a high degree of self-motivation and excellent communication skills, creativity, attention to details, tenacity, and adaptability and is team orientated.
Experience - desirable:
* Knowledge of Intranet/Internet Tools, service, security and access mechanisms
* Working knowledge of active directory
* Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange server 2010

* Sound technical systems skills, application and/or database administration.
