The Role As a CNC Miller Programmer, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality precision components while ensuring safety, quality and efficiency remain at the forefront of everything you do. Your responsibilities will include: Setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines. Programming using both CAM software and on-machine programming techniques. Operating manual lathes and milling machines for both development and production work. Selecting, setting and replacing cutting tools to achieve optimum machining performance. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, works orders and technical specifications. Producing components from rough machining through to finished precision parts. Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment. Completing quality documentation accurately and maintaining production records. Performing routine machine maintenance and reporting equipment issues when required. Working to production schedules while maintaining high standards of quality and safety Maintaining a clean, organised workspace in line with 6S and ISO quality standards. Supporting continuous improvement and collaborating with colleagues across the business. What We're Looking For We're looking for an experienced machinist who takes pride in producing high-quality work and enjoys working within a precision engineering environment. You'll ideally have: Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent engineering qualification. Proven experience setting, operating and programming CNC machinery. Experience with both CNC and conventional/manual machining. Excellent understanding of precision measurement using verniers, micrometers and other inspection equipment. Knowledge of tooling selection, machine setup and tool maintenance. Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances. Desirable Experience Experience programming Heidenhain controls. Knowledge of Fanuc controls. Experience using CAM software Toolmaking experience. Experience working within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.
