The purpose of your role: To support the protection of Seasalt systems, data, and infrastructure by monitoring security tools, responding to alerts, assisting with incident investigations and helping to maintain security controls This is a hands on role and learning focused, designed to build strong foundational skills in cybersecurity operations, engineering, and compliance Working closely with the Network and Security engineer, Technology operations staff, and compliance teams to ensure Seasalt maintains a strong security posture Utilise security toolsets and dashboards to identify and monitor security vulnerabilities Take remedial action to address issues identified through vulnerability scans, penetration tests, monitoring and automated alerting Monitor industry sources to remain current with the threat landscape Schedule and apply security patches to our IT infrastructure and software solutions Monitor, respond and where appropriate elevate security incidents and service requests Conduct and report on periodic access reviews Maintain and improve IT documentation, processes, internal procedures and playbooks Maintain information security and data protection standards in line with all relevant legislation, regulation and company policies Basic understanding of cyber security principals Basic understanding of networking technologies Strong organisational and planning skills Motivated, driven and proactive Problem solving and multitasking skills Good general knowledge of IT A constant learner, familiar with current technology Able to remain calm when dealing with pressure The ability to work closely with internal teams and external suppliers, communicating by phone, e mail and face to face in a professional manner Entry requirements: An A-Level in ICT OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT OR a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits) You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme.
