The Role: The Vice President of Software Engineering - Fuel is a senior technology leadership role responsible for the strategy, delivery, and continuous evolution of Kalibrate's fuel software platforms. Reporting into the SVP Pricing, the role owns engineering outcomes across fuel products, ensuring teams deliver secure, scalable, and high quality SaaS solutions that meet customer needs and align with Kalibrate's commercial and product strategy. The role combines technology leadership, people leadership, and execution discipline, operating at both strategic and operational levels. Success in this role is demonstrated by: Engineering teams that consistently deliver reliable, performant, and scalable fuel products Clear alignment between product strategy, engineering execution, and commercial outcomes Measurable improvements in engineering efficiency, quality, predictability, and delivery velocity, supported by clear metrics and continuous improvement practices A modern engineering environment capable of deploying GenAI features, whilst responsibly leveraging AI-enabled productivity tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining quality and control Strong cross functional partnerships with Product, Operational, Commercial, and Client teams A highly engaged, inclusive engineering organisation where teams feel connected, supported and accountable, with clear development pathways and strong leadership at all levels The VP Software Engineering - Fuel plays a critical role in enabling Kalibrate's growth by: Ensuring engineering capability scales in line with market demand and product ambition Supporting faster, more reliable delivery of value to customers Enabling data led and platform driven product evolution Managing technical risk and operating costs while supporting innovation Providing confident, credible technology leadership within the Senior Leadership team Profile Set and own the engineering vision and strategy for Kalibrate's fuel products Lead multiple engineering teams, ensuring consistent delivery standards and practices Partner with Product leadership to translate roadmap priorities into executable delivery plans Build and maintain engineering capability across platform, data, and application development Operate effective governance over technical debt, security, and quality Contribute to architecture decisions as a key member of Kalibrate's Technical Leadership Committee Champion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud native design Set and execute a clear technical roadmap for AI-driven product and engineering transformation, ensuring measurable impact on customer value and engineering productivity Drive the responsible adoption of AI assisted development and productivity tools to improve throughput, code quality, and developer effectiveness Ensure engineering decisions support scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and development of senior department leaders Represent engineering perspectives in senior leadership discussions and planning Own and manage the Software Development function budget, ensuring investment aligns with strategic priorities, delivery goals, and operational efficiency Required Skills and Experience Senior leadership experience within a commercial SaaS or product led software environment A strong and informed point of view on how AI is reshaping software engineering, with a track record of proactively driving adoption and transforming delivery models to unlock meaningful gains in productivity and quality. Proven track record leading engineering organisations delivering complex, data driven platforms Experience operating across strategy and execution, with accountability for outcomes Strong communicator able to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally Demonstrated ability to build aligned, high performing teams across disciplines and locations Technical and Delivery Background Experience with modern service oriented or microservices architectures Strong understanding of cloud platforms and architectures (IAAS / PAAS) - preferably Microsoft Azure Familiarity with data intensive systems and analytics driven applications Deep appreciation of software quality, reliability, and operational performance Practical understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure delivery practices Knowledge of a broad range of coding languages - C#, ReactNative, AngularJS, JavaScript, TypeScript Ways of Working Comfortable operating within Agile and Lean delivery models Able to balance innovation with stability and risk management Values clear engineering standards while allowing teams appropriate autonomy Encourages learning, continuous improvement, and pragmatic decision making Desired Experience Experience introducing engineering productivity improvements at scale Exposure to AI enabled development tools in commercial environments Implementation of GenAI features into mature software products Experience working with global or enterprise customers Background in fuel, retail, pricing, or data intensive domains (desirable, not required) This is a hybrid position based out of our Manchester office.

Role Reporting to the Director of Data Science Research, the Data Scientist is a highly skilled individual contributor responsible for designing, developing, and deploying advanced data science solutions across Kalibrate's product portfolio. This role focuses in particular on our pricing product suite, applying leading statistical, machine-learning, and AI techniques to deliver innovative solutions for fuel pricing while contributing to the technical excellence of the Data Science Research team. Key responsibilities include: Data Science Solution Development & Delivery Apply statistical and econometric modeling, time series analysis, optimization methods, and generative AI to develop improved approaches to demand modeling, elasticity estimation, price recommendation, competition analytics, and related challenges. Develop reusable tools, frameworks, and components to support and accelerate delivery of value from data science. Deploy scalable and maintainable solutions to cloud environments, leveraging version control practices and robust code quality and documentation standards. Work independently and as part of the Data Science Research team, contributing to research prioritisation and technical direction in collaboration with the Director and Product leadership. Technical Excellence & Mentorship Demonstrate technical excellence by delivering high-quality, innovative solutions and championing best practices to ensure research outputs are reproducible, scalable, and maintainable. Contribute to evaluation and adoption of appropriate tools, programming languages, and technologies. Mentor junior team members, sharing knowledge and supporting their professional development. Qualifications & Profile Ph.D. or master's degree in a quantitative discipline.
