Job Overview The Assistant Technical Support Engineer will gain hands on experience and technical knowledge in the field of lighting control systems. Working under the supervision of senior engineers and mentors, you will support electrical design, technical documentation, product, and cross department activities while developing into a skilled Technical Support Engineer. Responsibilities Electrical Design Support Assist in creating, drafting, and modifying electrical circuit diagrams and assembly drawings for lighting control products Learn to use software tools such as Bluebeam and other engineering applications when required Technical Documentation Help write, organise, and maintain product documentation Support preparation of installation manuals, wiring guides, and product specifications Product Knowledge Development Systematically study technical details, principles, and performance parameters of Hytronik products Work towards becoming a subject matter expert in lighting sensors and control systems Product Testing & Validation Participate in product testing and validation processes Assist in test setup, data recording, and report preparation Support compliance with safety and performance standards Cross Department Collaboration Provide basic technical support to production, quality, and sales teams Assist with drawings, technical information, and simple inquiries under supervision General Duties Support office and coordination tasks with the China technical team when required Assist in company stocktaking activities Undertake additional reasonable duties assigned by line management Qualifications & Requirements Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Building Services, Automation, or a related technical discipline Basic understanding of electrical circuits, control systems, and low voltage electronics Knowledge of lighting control systems or sensors is an advantage but not essential Good written and spoken English with the ability to prepare technical documentation Strong interest in developing a career in technical support and lighting control technology Excellent attention to detail and organised working approach Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proactive and positive attitude with willingness to learn from senior engineers Flexibility to support cross department and operational tasks when needed Benefits Competitive salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per year (depending on experience) Company pension scheme Sick pay On site parking Work from home options when appropriate Additional Requirements English fluency is required Driving licence preferred Work location: On site in Irlam, Manchester Interested?
