The Role This is a truly full-stack role, where you'll work across both front-end and back-end development to support and enhance our digital systems. You'll be involved in everything from building engaging user interfaces to developing robust back-end functionality and systems integration as well as assisting our data processing team with scripting and analysis work. Your work will include: Migrating existing web applications from ColdFusion to C#, including back-end logic and database integration Developing, improving and maintaining company websites, ensuring strong functionality as well as great usability Using Askia alongside your front-end skills to build engaging, high-quality online surveys Designing and delivering technical, database-driven solutions to meet complex client requirements Supporting and developing internal IT systems, contributing to ongoing system improvements Providing IT support to staff and participants when required Offering technical support at research studies across the UK About You This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who enjoys variety and wants to get involved across multiple areas of IT and data. You'll be creative, detail-focused and confident working with both code and data. You'll need to be someone who: Enjoys solving problems and creating bespoke solutions Can build attractive, user-friendly web pages and applications Has a strong eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality work Thrives in a fast-paced environment and remains calm under pressure Is happy to get involved wherever needed and work collaboratively across teams In return, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of technologies and projects, have real influence in an employee-owned company, and play a key part in helping drive our technology forward. Requirements Programming experience (ideally C#) Strong knowledge of databases/spreadsheets (e.g. SQL, MS Access, Excel) Confident working with numbers and data Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking Willingness to get involved across IT, web development and data analysis Degree in Computing, Maths, Science or similar OR relevant development experience Strong written and spoken English Full UK driving licence (occasional travel to support projects nationwide) Advantageous but not essential: Experience in data processing or survey scripting Statistical knowledge Graphic design ability Online marketing or social media experience Understanding of market research Starting salary of £25,000 - £35,000 DOE 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays) + up to 5 additional loyalty days Company profit share scheme Employee-owned; automatically become a company partner after 12 months' continuous service Choice of 4 or 5-day week after successful completion of probation Hybrid working (after initial probation period) An additional day off for your birthday and anniversary of joining Swift Christmas Closure - an additional 3 days holiday Health cash plan (claim back the cost of treatments eg: dental, optical etc.) Flexible benefits portal with instant access to 100's of perks, benefits & discounts Two off-site social events a year Great location just off the A1(M) offering an easy commute without public transport Free on-site parking for all staff Location & hours This role is based at our office in Wetherby, an element of remote working will be available after successful completion of the probation period.
