Customer Projects Engineer The successful candidate will join a highly skilled and dedicated team committed to customer satisfaction in the supply and implementation of high quality, efficient HV monitoring solutions. Customer Projects Engineer within the Engineering Solutions Department, deliver cost-effective detailed mechanical design solutions for customer specific asset requirements, to the agreed technical specifications, timescales, and budgets. Key roles, responsibilities and behaviours include but not limited to: Customer and site requirements capture - Collect, interpret, and translate customer, site specific, and project requirements into effective engineering solutions. Customer centric project delivery - Ensure the customer is always put first, delivering professionally executed, safe, and successful projects that meet or exceed expectations. Engineering design development - Develop, evaluate, and customise customer specific mechanical and HV designs in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal engineering processes. Component specification and selection - Support the selection and specification of mechanical components aligned with technical tender requirements, safety standards, and mechanical integrity. High quality engineering documentation - Produce accurate, detailed engineering drawings (parts, assemblies, wiring, cables, layouts) and maintain technical specification documents, checklists, and manuals. Bespoke mechanical design - Design mechanically sound custom components, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance. Design change management - Identify, assess, and implement design modifications driven by customer, site, or project needs, following formal engineering change processes. Installation, commissioning, and field support - Apply site awareness and field considerations to improve installation and commissioning efficiency and support on site troubleshooting when required. Testing, verification, and maintenance support - Create, maintain, and support test procedures, maintenance instructions, and verification tools in collaboration with HV training and technical specialists. Cross functional collaboration - Liaise with Customers, partners, commercial, and internal service departments to ensure coordinated successful delivery of projects and customer requirements. Self management - Manage workload, keep stakeholders informed of progress and schedules, raising challenges early. Project communication - Produce technical proposals, reports, and plans as required. Continuous improvement and professional development - Support continuous improvement initiatives, provide specialist customer support for HV products, travel as required for on site learning, and undertake additional duties aligned with the role. Additional tasks as directed from management commensurate to the role. Sound knowledge of mechanical engineering design, able to identify optimum technical and pragmatic solutions under time constraints. Strong technical and problem solving skills, and ability to design cost effective solutions from specifications against set timelines and targets. The Team Our team specializes in automated testing across multiple stages of product assembly. We support testing from low-level PCBA validation through intermediate assembly stages up to final End-of-Line (EOL) testing. Our mission is to ensure and continuously enhance product quality by delivering well-designed, reliable and scalable automated test systems. We work with internally developed test platforms, multiple production test stations tailored to the specific test scope, a global test results database, data visualization and analysis tools, and a growing set of drivers controlling measurement equipment and test hardware. We cooperate with other engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure proper system integration. Role Overview As a Test System Software Engineer, you will work at the intersection of software, hardware, and manufacturing. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving production test systems while working closely with production teams to diagnose and resolve issues on the manufacturing line. You will have a direct impact on manufacturing yield, failure detection, and production throughput. Your automations and data tooling will be used daily on the production line, making the difference between manual firefighting and predictable, scalable manufacturing. This is not a QA or software-only testing role. The position focuses on production test automation tool development with hardware interaction, and manufacturing support.
