Data Analyst - Engineering The site you will be based from is in Aldridge however once trained on Biffa systems, there is opportunity to work remotely. Monday to Friday. A quick look at the role To lead continuous improvement, digital transformation, and data governance across Group Engineering through the effective use of Microsoft Power Platform technologies. The role will develop and enhance reporting, automation, asset management, project tracking, and performance analytics solutions to improve efficiency, compliance, visibility, and decision-making. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, IT, and external partners, the role will ensure engineering systems, data, and digital solutions support business objectives and the wider engineering transformation strategy. Core responsibilities Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards, KPI scorecards, and reporting tools to provide insight into asset performance, compliance, maintenance, projects, and operational efficiency. Design and maintain Power Apps, Power Automate workflows, SharePoint solutions, and Microsoft Lists to streamline engineering processes and reduce manual administration. Support and optimise engineering systems including FleetWave, D365, telematics platforms, maintenance databases, and mobile plant reporting tools. Deliver analytics on asset utilisation, idle time, fuel consumption, maintenance trends, lifecycle costs, and overall fleet performance. Drive continuous improvement through automation, system integration, standardisation, and digital transformation initiatives across Group Engineering. Develop and maintain project governance and tracking tools for major engineering projects, asset replacement programmes, and strategic initiatives. Ensure engineering data, asset registers, compliance records, and financial information remain accurate, controlled, and aligned with governance standards. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement, IT, and external partners to deliver scalable digital solutions that improve business performance. Data Migration Manager Hybrid Role - 2 days office based Mon-Fri 37.5 hours per week The primary purpose of the role is to define, own and be accountable for all data migration activities in Biffa. With transformation programmes introducing new SaaS systems and the consolidation of legacy platforms, coupled with a busy merger & acquisition pipeline, the migration of data is a top priority for the business. The role will define the data migration strategy and standards, overseeing migration plans delivered by the team or third parties. This is a key technical and design role working across all business divisions, that will require finance experience to understand the impacts of the data and support loading this into Biffa's ERP system (D365). This role works closely with the Data Architect and Product Teams (Dayforce & D365) to create migration patterns which provide re-usable methods for migration ensuring data quality is enhanced and protected before load into the required system. The role will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data challenges, gaps and develop data cleansing, mapping & migration tools to speed up data migration. The role manages all technical aspects of data extraction, transformation, and loading using established methodologies and toolsets. Key Responsibilities: Define the Data Migration strategy, including data cleanse approach, for Biffa and identify technologies required to enhance our way of delivering migration. Create and maintain the Data Migration plan, including cycles, resourcing, and timelines, ensuring alignment with the overall business timelines on all projects. Oversee or manage extraction processes from systems to access raw data and engage business stakeholders on known data issues and required transformation logic, plus oversee or manage transformation & load activities. Lead data analysis and profiling efforts to identify gaps, quantify potential issues, and develop Data Quality reporting tools in line with company standards. Partner with Finance teams to validate migrated data against source system financial records, ensuring that these reconcile or being able to explain the discrepancies and impacts. Document data issues, gaps, mappings, required business rules, and risks, validating this information with stakeholders. Conduct data due diligence activities and mapping sessions with organisations Biffa is planning to acquire to determine how legacy data should be transformed and to ensure data quality and completeness is considered in the target's valuation. Manage a team of data migration analysts to deliver migration activities on time, providing the team with development plans and progression. Essential Criteria: Have hands-on experience doing large scale data migrations at medium or larger sized organisations. Analytical mindset with a commitment to detail and adherence to coding and documentation standards. Advanced T-SQL programming and performance tuning abilities. Skilled in using SSIS or Azure Data Factory to manage data migration. Excellent communication and ability to explain technical challenges to non-technical colleagues and translating technical migration findings into financial impact language for finance audiences. Extensive experience in transforming data through integrations. Experience with project management and workflow tools (e.g., Azure DevOps) Skills in technical report building tools such as Power BI. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform is preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related area. Technical certifications in Azure data platforms.
