The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer with a strong grounding in systems design, integration, and testing. The role requires a broad understanding of engineering disciplines-including software, mechanical, and electrical-combined with the ability to apply knowledge across multiple projects. You will be responsible for supporting product lifecycles from concept through to delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to high-profile, technically complex projects. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver systems design, integration, and test activities across multiple projects. Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers. Develop and present technical proposals, specifications, and reports to a high standard. Apply engineering knowledge flexibly across software, mechanical, and electrical domains. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including customers. Travel as required to support project delivery. Essential Skills & Experience Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent experience. Proven experience in systems design, integration, and test. Strong understanding of product lifecycles from concept to delivery. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Mentoring experience and ability to lead small engineering teams. Strong written English and computer literacy. Eligible for UK Security Clearance. Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable Skills Understanding of Radar, Radio, or Navigation systems. Experience with communications protocols (RS485, RS232, TCP/IP, CANBus). Product development experience for Naval or Defence platforms. Exposure to EMC, electronics, ESD, or circuit-level fault finding. Familiarity with common test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers).
