The Role As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while promoting the company's full range of fire and security solutions, including: Fire Alarms CCTV Systems Access Control Intruder Alarms Monitoring Services Planned Maintenance Contracts Associated Fire & Security Works You will manage the complete sales process from initial prospecting through to proposal, negotiation, contract award and handover, ensuring solutions are commercially viable and operationally deliverable. Key Responsibilities Identify and secure new business opportunities within the fire and security sector. Develop and maintain strong relationships with end users, contractors, consultants, facilities management providers and key decision-makers. Generate a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities. Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to project handover. Prepare professional proposals, quotations and tender submissions. Achieve agreed sales, gross margin and recurring revenue targets. Promote maintenance, monitoring and service agreements alongside installation projects. Collaborate closely with estimating, projects, service and operations teams. Attend client meetings, site surveys, networking events and presentations. Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular sales forecasts. Stay up to date with industry standards, legislation and compliance requirements. Represent CIA Fire & Security and The Ranger Group professionally at all times. About You The successful candidate will have: Proven success in business development or technical sales within the fire and security industry. Strong knowledge of fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, monitoring and maintenance services. A track record of winning new business and achieving sales targets. Experience selling to commercial clients, facilities management companies, contractors, consultants or public sector organisations. Strong commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and long-term value. Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills. The ability to build trust and develop long-lasting customer relationships. A self-motivated and proactive approach to generating opportunities. Strong pipeline management and organisational skills. Confidence dealing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Desirable Experience Experience working for an NSI, SSAIB or BAFE accredited organisation. Existing industry contacts within sectors such as: Education Commercial Property Healthcare Retail Facilities Management Construction Local Authorities Experience securing maintenance and monitoring contracts. Tender and framework submission experience. Understanding of contract profitability, recurring revenue and gross margin management.
