A Sytems / Software Support Manager is sought by an expanding Engineering company to lead their Support function for class-leading software systems for the Energy sector Your key responsibility will be to ensure the seamless operation, support, and upkeep of our software and hardware systems. serving as a critical point of contact for troubleshooting, maintaining service levels, and coordinating with various teams to resolve issues promptly. The role carries with it a mix of hands-on and strategic responsibilities designed to enable the growth of the support function as the company's customer base continues to grow. These will include: - Act as the primary point of contact for support requests, triaging incoming issues, prioritise based on urgency and impact, and assign tasks to the appropriate teams. Attend client and supplier meetings as the company's support representative. Monitor support ticket systems and ensure timely resolution of issues in accordance with contracted SLAs. Schedule and oversee contracted system maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations Investigate and resolve any recurring issues by collaborating with cross-functional teams and analyse trends in support requests to identify opportunities for system or process improvements. Develop and maintain detailed documentation for support processes, system configuration, and maintenance schedules. Generate regular reports on support metrics, system performance, and maintenance activities in accordance with contracts held with clients. Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis. Attend stakeholder meetings as the company support representative Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical teams to provide updates and gather feedback. To succeed in this role you will need a good background in Software Systems and have a HNC or higher in a relevant field (Information, Technology, Electronics, Controls Systems or Electrical Engineering preferred). You will need proven experience in a support or maintenance coordinator or management role and have a strong technical aptitude with familiarity in systems maintenance, electrical engineering, IT support, or similar domains. Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential as is a proficiency in using support ticketing systems and project management tools. Exceptional communication skills are essential. Good data analysis skills would be beneficial as would experience of supporting software with an engineering based application. Senior Power Systems Engineer - This role has been created to assist in the continuing growth of our clients electrical power network design and consultancy services. They undertake the design of contestable electrical networks associated with new connections and the design of private wire networks for Generation and Demand customers. You will be responsible for the following: Undertaking the design and specification of electrical distribution networks and substations from LV to 132kV and associated equipment for new connections and private wire networks. This will include: Specifying cables. Undertaking cable sizing and thermal rating calculations. Producing cable route drawings. Producing Legal plans for required easements, substation leases etc; Specifying electrical LV,11kV,33kV and 132kV switchgear. Designing and specifying protection schemes. Specifying transformers and where necessary associated protection schemes. Specifying and sizing Current transformer and Voltage transformers. Specifying LV switchgear / fusegear. Specifying and sizing Battery Chargers. Producing Single Line Diagrams. Producing secondary designs e.g. multicore block wiring diagrams and associated multi core wiring interface drawings. Undertaking the design of LV networks. Undertaking the design of the small power and lighting required for a substation. Specifying auxiliary equipment required for substations. e.g. sump pumps, emergency tripping schemes. Assessing manufacturers drawing to ensure compliance with the design produced. Liaising with equipment suppliers. Liaising with the DNO's / iDNO's regarding their requirements and specifications and obtaining the information required to undertake designs. Producing Engineering and Design reports for each design. Assisting with Earthing designs. Assisting the civil design team regarding the electrical aspects of the substation design. Efficiently programme and manage the delivery of your work. Ensuring designs are undertaken in compliance with the Internal Management System. Ensuring designs are undertaken in compliance with relevant DNO, iDNO, National / International Standards and legislation, and contract specifications. Ensuring designs are undertaken with due regard to Health, Safety & Environmental Procedures, and production of Designer Risk Assessments, as necessary, to fulfil the Company's obligations in compliance with current CDM regulations. A Contract Site Quality Engineer with a strong background in Electrical Engineering and Infrastructure / Construction projects is sought to work on a series of ongoing projects The initial project will involve providing on-site support for upcoming Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and the close-out of Inspection Test Plan (ITP) activities across Saltley for electrical installation. You will also raise WIRs on the system, issue invites, and manage QA evidence online.
