Job Title: Mainframe Engineer (Z/OS Systems Programmer) Duration: long-term contract Location: Remote Role Overview The Mainframe Engineer (Z/OS Systems Programmer) is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous improvement of Mainframe systems and associated software environments. Key Responsibilities Maintain and upgrade the z/OS operating system. Install, maintain, and upgrade Db2 for z/OS and related IBM Z products. Support and manage ISV products from vendors such as IBM and Computer Associates (CA). Provide production support and system reliability. Support system programming activities, including configuration, testing, and deployment. Ensure optimal system performance and availability. Key Skills Strong experience in Mainframe systems programming. Expertise in z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, and JCL. Knowledge of IBM and CA products. Strong problem-solving ability and team collaboration skills. Willingness to provide out-of-hours support and participate in on-call rotas.
