I am currently recruiting on behalf of an Automotive OEM, based in Leamington Spa, who are seeking a Software Quality & Maturity Engineer to join their team
Job Description
As Software Quality & Maturity Engineer, your main responsibilities are:
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of software Function Implementation Plans and ensuring timely project delivery.
Responsible for the planning and delivery of feature maturity roadmaps through the vehicle build gateways and software integration points.
Work closely with the Engineering Vehicle Function groups and technical partners, planning and coordinating software deliveries.
Responsible for managing software issues databases and generating reports and quality metrics for multiple project stakeholders.
Working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, responsible for ensuring software defects are adequately recorded, triaged, and prioritized.
Qualifications / Skills needed
Degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
Proven track record in managing software quality and development timelines, particularly within the automotive or embedded software sectors.
Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence or Quality Centre for tracking software issues, generating reports, and measuring software quality metrics.
In-depth understanding of automotive standards to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to work with technical and non-technical teams, communicating effectively across multiple departments to align project objectives and software quality requirements.

Oversee and optimise the selection, configuration, and maintenance of software development, integration, and testing tools (e.g., version control, build automation, static analysis, debugging, and CI/CD tools).
Define, implement, and continuously improve software development processes, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and release management, ensuring they align with industry standards.
Work with cross-functional teams to integrate various tools into a cohesive software development and testing ecosystem, ensuring seamless communication and data flow between the different tools and processes.
Collaborate with systems and software engineers, to understand their needs and provide guidance and support in the use of tools and best practices for process management.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to toolchains, processes, workflows, and guidelines to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.
Qualifications / Skills needed
Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Extensive experience managing and optimizing toolchains in an automotive or embedded systems environment, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
Practical knowledge of tools such as version control (e.g., Git), build automation (e.g., Jenkins), CI/CD, static analysis, and debugging, along with experience configuring and maintaining them.
