Chase Taylor Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join a growing operations team within the garage door industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional with strong installation knowledge and a passion for quality, coaching, and continuous improvement. Working across the Newcastle and Durham area, you will provide expert technical support to installers, helping to maintain exceptional installation standards, improve technical performance, and ensure outstanding customer satisfaction. The Role As a Technical Support Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and developing installers through technical guidance, field training, quality audits, and coaching. You will work closely with operational teams to identify quality improvements, resolve technical issues, and help implement best practice across the region. This field-based role covers the Newcastle and Durham area, providing hands-on technical support, training, and quality guidance to installers. Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Quality Provide technical support via a Quality & Technical Help Line on a rota with fellow engineers. Deliver on-site field training, coaching, and quality audits for installers. Carry out Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on product faults and installation issues to identify long-term solutions. Attend internal quality and technical review meetings to coordinate field issues and improvements. Support installers with complex installations and challenging remedial projects. Training & Development Assist in developing and delivering high-quality technical and installation training programmes. Mentor and support new installers throughout their onboarding journey. Assess, coach, and sign off installers' technical competence following their training period. Support the development of online training content covering new products, components, and installation techniques. Contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of field operating procedures and best practice documentation. Quality & Continuous Improvement Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and installation quality. Conduct quality audits within customer aftercare services, providing constructive coaching where improvements are required. Work collaboratively with installers and manufacturing teams to improve technical standards and installation quality across the business. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Strong knowledge of door products, components, and assembly materials. Experience of installation processes, fault finding, and technical troubleshooting. Previous experience providing remote technical support. Experience coaching, mentoring, or training installation teams. Experience conducting quality audits or inspections. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently. A collaborative team-focused attitude with a strong customer focus. A full UK driving licence.
