Purpose As a key member of the Development team, the Business Developer will be responsible for: Identifying, analysing, and securing new renewables energy prospects, including BESS, wind, rooftop, carport, and ground mounted installations. Managing the local commercial network to facilitate site acquisitions and project development. Collaborating with the Finance, GIS, and engineering teams to assess feasibility and optimise project design. Overseeing the permitting process for solar projects from inception through to construction readiness, ensuring compliance with regulatory and grid connection requirements. Engaging with the finance department and your clients to structure Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and other financial models. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management and business development within the renewables sector, with a proven track record of identifying and securing projects across the UK. This position reports to the Head of Projects. Responsibilities we will trust you with Stakeholder Engagement & Market Development Establishing, developing, and maintaining a strong local network with key stakeholders, including local authorities, landowners, industrial clients, business providers, and regional administrations. Identifying and implementing new prospecting methods and strategies to secure renewables energy opportunities. Engaging with commercial and industrial clients to structure Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and respond to tenders. Site Identification & Feasibility Analysis Identify and assess new renewable energy opportunities (wind, BESS, rooftop, carport, ground mounted, floating, and hybrid solar solutions) through cartographic studies and data analysis. Conducting technical, environmental, and regulatory feasibility studies, coordinating local consultations with residents, landowners, and authorities. Securing land or lease agreements for selected sites. Project Development & Permitting Managing the entire development lifecycle of projects, from site selection to permitting and pre construction. Liaising with spatial planners, technical and environmental consultants, and legal experts to prepare and submit all necessary permitting applications. Leading and coordinating with local authorities, grid operators, suppliers, and consultants to ensure timely project approvals. Pre Construction & Tender Management Preparing response files for project tenders from local authorities and industrial companies. Managing pre construction tasks, including risk assessments, procurement tender preparation, and supporting EPC contract negotiations. Drafting and reviewing technical and commercial appendices for contracts and project agreements. Bachelor's level with a specialization in renewable energy, agronomy, environmental studies, or project management. We are of course open to work experienced candidates as well. 3/5 years of professional experience in a development role, with a successful track record in project development. Highly motivated to work in a multifaceted environment, you are organised, open minded, and autonomous. You are capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills with all types of stakeholders, excellent verbal and written communication. Solid analytical skills, strong adaptability, and efficiency. Knowledge of the UK renewable sector is a plus, as well as understanding the functioning of local authorities and/or administrations in the UK. A valid driver's licence (more than 1 year) is essential (travel required).

Issue Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test, Limitations of Access, and other safety documentation. Supervise and mentor junior staff, conduct competency assessments, and support team development. Perform and witness pre-commissioning testing, inspection, and commissioning of HV/LV equipment (up to 132kV), including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, busbars, CT metering, and associated control systems. Liaise with DNO/IDNO engineers for final connections, energisation, substation handovers, and self-connect activities. Coordinate with contractors and ICPs during construction, installation, and handover phases to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. Manage fault location, diagnostics, repair, and response activities. Develop method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures (including LOTO). Audit assets under construction, report non-conformances, and ensure networks are safe, compliant, and efficient for adoption and ongoing operation. Attend client meetings, resolve operational issues, and represent the company in industry forums as needed. Qualifications Current or recent Senior Authorised Person (SAP) authorisation for HV operations (up to at least 33kV, preferably including 132kV) HNC, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, with strong theoretical and practical knowledge of 1-phase and 3-phase LV/HV systems. Minimum of 5 years' experience in HV/LV electrical operations, commissioning, substation construction, network maintenance, or similar roles within the utility sector. In-depth knowledge of HV/LV distribution networks, apparatus, cables, protection systems, SCADA, and relevant industry standards Experience with electrical testing (e.g., IR, continuity, pressure, VLF, Ductor), fault detection techniques, and outage planning. Recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g., SSSTS, IOSH, or equivalent). Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, HSE legislation, and Distribution Safety Rules. As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring Fuse's hardware products and energy systems meet applicable regulatory, safety, and performance requirements throughout their lifecycle. You will work hands on with prototypes and deployed systems, collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, software, and operations teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical, testable engineering outcomes. In this role, you will be directly involved in design validation, certification, and end of line verification, navigating a broad regulatory landscape including electrical safety, EMC, grid connection standards, and environmental compliance. Responsibilities Plan, set up, and execute hands on validation, verification, and compliance tests on Fuse Energy hardware systems, both in laboratory environments and on live sites. Prepare systems for external certification and type testing, coordinating with notified bodies, test houses, and third party laboratories. Support in field testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities at customer, partner, or pilot sites to validate safety, performance, and grid interoperability. Execute targeted test campaigns covering areas such as electrical safety (LVD), EMC, grid code compliance (e.g. G99/G100 and EU equivalents), functional safety, and environmental requirements. Identify, analyse, and troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and system level issues uncovered during testing, working closely with design and software engineers to drive corrective actions. Design test equipment and software to perform automated test either in HIL testing or EOL verification at the production site. Develop and maintain thorough test documentation, including test procedures, reports, evidence packs, and compliance dossiers for internal use and external audits. Communicate test results, risks, and compliance status clearly to engineering, operations, and leadership teams, supporting informed technical and commercial decisions. Contribute to continuous improvement of Fuse's compliance, testing, and quality processes as products and deployments scale. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline. At least 3 years of experience in a hardware test, compliance, regulatory, or certification focused engineering role. Strong hands on experience working with electrical or power electronic systems in laboratory and/or field environments. Proficiency with standard electrical test and measurement equipment, such as oscilloscopes, power analysers, multimeters, insulation testers, and data acquisition systems. Experience creating structured test plans, executing formal test procedures, and producing clear, high quality technical documentation. Working knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, such as LVD, EMC, grid connection codes, and related EU/UK directives (or a strong ability to learn them quickly). Excellent problem solving and debugging skills, with a rigorous, detail oriented approach to engineering work. Ability to work independently, manage multiple test activities in parallel, and operate effectively across lab, site, and external partner environments.
