AgileSource are looking for an experienced Service Architect with a Government/Public Sector & Consultancy background. As a Service Architect, you will hold a senior role in defining, shaping, and assuring end-to-end service designs . The position blends strong architectural discipline with hands-on delivery insight, ensuring services are robust, operable, and aligned to organisational strategy. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, helping to create services that are scalable, resilient, and designed around user needs. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain holistic service designs covering people, processes, data, technology, and third-party suppliers. Own the creation of service design artefacts, including service blueprints, catalogues, interface specifications, and operational documentation for critical services. Provide leadership on service design assurance, working alongside client architecture and governance functions to ensure adherence to agreed standards. Create, review, and assure design outputs in line with organisational policies, security requirements, accessibility standards, and defined architectural frameworks. Participate in design and governance forums, offering service-focused assurance, identifying dependencies, and contributing to risk and issue resolution. Identify and manage technical, contractual, and supplier dependencies to support smooth transitions across infrastructure, data, and support arrangements. Drive architectural consistency across programmes and workstreams, proactively highlighting and resolving shared risks, constraints, and overlaps. Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture, technical specialists, platform owners (including ServiceNow), delivery leads, and analysts to ensure designs are both strategically coherent and delivery-ready. Support and upskill client teams in areas such as operating model design, service governance, and multi-supplier integration to build lasting internal capability. Essential Skills & Experience Demonstrable experience designing and assuring services within large, complex organisations. Strong understanding of service integration models, sourcing approaches, and enterprise technology platforms. Knowledge of public sector environments, including digital governance frameworks and secure-by-design service principles. Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across business and technical audiences. Holds current SC clearance or is eligible and willing to obtain clearance. Desirable Experience Exposure to product-led and platform-based operating models. Practical understanding of ITIL 4 concepts and practices. Hands-on experience working with ServiceNow or similar enterprise service platforms. Involvement in major transformation initiatives, such as large-scale organisational change, mergers, or acquisitions.
