About Network Services CACI Network Services is a rapidly expanding specialist IT and Networks consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within challenging and exciting environments with our major clients in Global Media, Banking, Government, Telecoms & Utilities SC Clearance Required Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer (SME Level) with deep expertise in Cisco ACI, VMware NSX-T, and Firewall architecture, design, and operations. The ideal candidate will operate at a consultant level, providing strategic input on architecture and design while ensuring robust security and operational excellence across data center environments. Technical Skills & Key Responsibilities Develop and implement network architecture for Cisco ACI and NSX-T environments. Design and optimize Firewall solutions (Cisco ASA & Checkpoint) aligned with Zero Trust principles. Assess current Firewall rule base and migrate to NSX Distributed Firewall (DFW). Consolidate physical to virtual Firewall environments. Utilize tools such as APIs and IP Fabric to document current state (security posture, routing). Conduct audits and discovery to ensure compliance and operational integrity. Implement automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices for network deployments. Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical recommendations. Produce high-quality technical documentation and reports. Cisco ACI: Architecture, Design, and Operations VMware NSX-T: Architecture, Design, and Operations Firewalls: Cisco ASA & Checkpoint expertise Routing: Strong understanding of BGP Security: Zero Trust principles Automation: Familiarity with Scripting and IaC tools Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong technical writing and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Soft Skills Flexibility The key to our success is our teamwork and collaboration. Network Engineer (Automation) CACI Network Services is a rapidly expanding specialist IT and Networks consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within challenging and exciting environments with our major clients in Global Media, Banking, Government, Telecoms & Utilities Essential Experience: (must-have skills/qualifications) Solid experience of working in a high-pressure, large-scale, global environment. Solid understanding of Web Security - Web Application Firewalls & API Security Gateways Experience doing development & tooling for Network & Security Engineering Teams Ability to communicate at all levels. Solid understanding of distributed multi-tier architectures. Solid understanding of change control procedures and incident reporting methodologies. Automating infrastructure provisioning - IaaS & Automating application delivery - PaaS Successful, proven experience (minimum 3 years) in similar function within a large multi-functional environment. Very good working knowledge of financial services industry. Experienced in the technical implementation of key business applications through Test and into Live Service. Significant experience of different delivery methodologies (waterfall, agile/SaFE/LeSS/kanban/xp) Essential Technical Experience: Good understanding of Firewalls Good experience with automation around Networking & Security devices Minimum 5 years' experience in a DevOps/Automation role Good experience with Automation Frameworks specifically Ginger Solid Development Skills (Bash, Python) Solid Development Skills in developing and consuming RESTful services. Understanding the build life cycle of an application through to deployment. Solid understanding of general cloud based services, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
