Our client is seeking an Infrastructure Documentation & Support Engineer to join their busy infrastructure team during a critical period of transformation and compliance enhancement. This role will play a key part in ensuring that the organisation's infrastructure is fully documented and compliant with the Network and Information Systems Regulations. The successful candidate will spend approximately 80% of their time producing and validating technical documentation, working closely with infrastructure engineers to capture accurate configurations, processes, and standards across the environment. The remaining time will involve assisting with 3rd line support activities and contributing to key infrastructure projects. Responsibilities Lead the documentation of the organisation's infrastructure to ensure compliance with the NIS Regulations. Work collaboratively with Infrastructure team members to understand system builds, configurations, and dependencies. Develop clear, comprehensive documentation for infrastructure components, policies, and procedures. Assist with 3rd line technical issues, providing expert-level support to 1st and 2nd line teams. Maintain configuration records, diagrams, and operational manuals. Ensure all documentation is stored, version-controlled, and easily accessible to the wider IT function. Identify opportunities to improve documentation standards, templates, and governance.

Implement enhancements to Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, and help optimise on-premises infrastructure. Deliver identity-based security solutions across hybrid environments (on-prem & cloud). Manage access and identity controls, ensuring systems are secure and compliant. Collaborate across DevOps, Security, and Application teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Monitor systems proactively, respond to alerts, and maintain operational stability. Maintain accurate technical documentation and implement configuration best practices. Support software rollouts and integration efforts across cloud and on-prem systems. Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and maintenance. Liaise with external vendors to ensure consistent service quality and uptime. Skills & Experience Essential Proven experience in an IT infrastructure or technical support role. Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Entra ID, and cloud technologies. Confident communicator with a self-starter mindset and the ability to work autonomously. Desirable Experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, hybrid). Familiarity with storage and backup solutions. Working knowledge of IT security best practices and how they apply in real-world scenarios.
