Business Intelligence Architect Day Rate: 500 per day Contract: Temporary - until 31 March 2026 Location: Suffolk - Hybrid (2 days per week onsite) We are working with a public sector organisation in Suffolk seeking an experienced Power BI Architect for a high?impact, delivery?focused contract. This role suits a contractor who can take ownership quickly, shape a solution with minimal onboarding, and deliver at pace. You will lead the full design and build of a new Inclusion Tool in Power BI-from data architecture and modelling through to dashboard design, documentation, and handover to internal teams. The Role As the Power BI Architect, you will: Lead the technical delivery of a strategic Power BI reporting solution. Design a scalable data and semantic architecture. Identify and validate data sources alongside analysts and data owners. Build performance?optimised models, DAX measures, and high?quality dashboards. Deliver a rapid, iterative build within a fixed timeframe. Produce full documentation and handover materials for the Intelligence Hub team. This is a hands?on role ideal for an experienced contractor who can hit the ground running. Key Responsibilities Solution Architecture Build a robust Power BI semantic model using star schema principles. Define dataflows, refresh strategies, and long?term architectural considerations. Data Integration Map authoritative data sources and resolve gaps or inconsistencies. Conduct profiling and validation to ensure trusted KPIs. Document data lineage and assumptions. Power BI Development Develop optimised models and reusable, well?structured DAX. Implement appropriate data security. Create clean, accessible dashboards with clear user journeys. Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement Manage a short, fixed delivery cycle including scope, iterations, and reviews. Turn business requirements into technical solutions independently. Work confidently with both technical and non?technical stakeholders. Testing, Documentation & Handover Support UAT and KPI validation. Produce clear, practical technical documentation. Deliver a smooth, confident handover to the internal team. Essential Experience Strong experience as a Power BI Architect or Senior Power BI Developer. Expert knowledge of Power BI Desktop & Service, DAX, and dimensional modelling. Proficient SQL and relational database skills. Evidence of delivering enterprise?grade BI solutions end?to?end. Comfortable with short?term, delivery?focused contracts. Strong communicator and autonomous worker. Desirable Experience Public sector, education, or social care analytics. Inclusion, SEND or needs?based datasets. Power BI governance frameworks. Microsoft Fabric or Azure BI tools (nice to have). Success Criteria A live, fully functioning Inclusion Tool in Power BI. Trusted, well?defined KPIs. A maintainable, scalable semantic model. Full documentation and confident internal ownership.

Purpose of the job To assist with the maintenance and management of the Service Catalogue for the IT Service, providing IT goods and services to the organisation. You will be a positive contributor to IT services so we deliver cost effective, reliable and agile solutions that support the business transformation programmes of the council. Day to day tasks Assist with the administration of the IT Service Catalogue which provides standard equipment and repeatable services. Provide equipment and peripherals to customers of the service as per the current delivery arrangements. Work with colleagues to ensure sufficient stock is available. Maintain additional supporting information for equipment and services available via the IT Service Catalogue. Assist with the Standard and non-standard requests generated via the Service Catalogue and ensure correct processes are followed. Support colleagues across the IT Service with Procurement requests Raise orders on behalf of colleagues across the IT Service Assist with the publishing of pricing information monthly for schools and related services. Monitor progress of requests. Assist with the delivery of Standard Change minor projects, products and services when required. Specialist knowledge skills and experience Knowledge of IT systems Experience or skills in providing support in an IT, or professional environment.
