This role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering and reliability, focusing on building resilient systems, improving automation, and ensuring production environments run smoothly and efficiently. You ll play a key role in designing, building, and operating modern cloud infrastructure while driving DevOps best practices across teams. What You ll Be Doing Designing, building, and supporting scalable AWS infrastructure (e.g., Amazon EC2, Amazon EKS) Managing and improving CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI Implementing monitoring, alerting, and observability with Amazon CloudWatch and Grafana Automating infrastructure, deployments, and operational processes Managing live environments and ensuring high availability and performance Troubleshooting incidents and resolving complex production issues Collaborating with engineering teams to improve system reliability and delivery speed Key Skills & Experience Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EC2, networking, and container platforms like Amazon EKS Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) Proven ability to monitor and troubleshoot systems using Amazon CloudWatch and/or Grafana Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, TLS, routing, firewalls) Experience working in live production environments Solid scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash) Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting ability Desirable Experience Kubernetes and container orchestration (e.g., Amazon EKS) Experience with artifact repositories such as JFrog Artifactory Knowledge of network security tools (WAF, IDS/IPS, e.g., Suricata) Experience with AWS Landing Zones and multi-account environments Additional Information Candidates must be eligible for SC Security Clearance This is a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment requiring strong ownership and initiative Interview process: Technical interview via Microsoft Teams

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and optimising cloud services in a complex, regulated environment, working closely with commercial teams, technical specialists, and external suppliers. Key Responsibilities Lead the definition, development, and lifecycle management of cloud-based digital products Translate business requirements into clear product strategies, roadmaps, and deliverables Work closely with commercial and procurement teams to support sourcing and supplier management Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors Ensure products align with security, compliance, and government standards Support delivery of digital transformation initiatives across cloud platforms Monitor product performance and drive continuous improvement Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience in digital and/or cloud product management Strong background in commercial and procurement environments (essential) Experience working within public sector or regulated environments Demonstrated ability to manage suppliers and procurement lifecycle activities Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience delivering cloud-based digital products SC Clearance (active preferred) Desirable Skills Experience working with central government organisations Familiarity with cloud platforms and digital transformation programmes Understanding of Agile delivery environments Additional Requirements Ability to commute to Exeter 3 days per week (mandatory) Candidates should ideally be based in the South West or within commutable distance (e.g. Bristol) London-based candidates are unlikely to be suitable due to travel requirements No flexibility on rate

Senior Infrastructure Engineer NetDevOps Contract: Until 31/03/2027 Rate: Up to £650/day (Inside IR35, Umbrella) Location: Newcastle (preferred), Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Blackpool Peel Park Hybrid: 60% on-site (3 days) Clearance: Active SC required Interview: Single stage (MS Teams) Overview We re looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (NetDevOps) to design and deliver large-scale enterprise network infrastructure across hybrid and cloud environments. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building, automating, and improving modern network platforms not operations or pure SRE work. You ll work closely with Architecture, Cloud, and Engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available solutions. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver enterprise network infrastructure (on-prem, hybrid, cloud) Build secure network traffic flows and high-availability services Implement hybrid connectivity across Azure, AWS, or OCI Manage Palo Alto firewall policies in line with Zero Trust principles Work with routing, segmentation, VXLAN/EVPN, and load balancing (F5) Develop network automation using Python, Ansible, and IaC (Terraform) Use Git and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab) for automation and delivery Collaborate with architecture and platform teams on solution design Essential Skills Strong enterprise networking (BGP, OSPF, complex routing environments) Hands-on Palo Alto firewall experience VXLAN/EVPN, VRF segmentation, multi-site networks Experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure/AWS/OCI) Network automation (Python, Ansible, IaC) CI/CD and Git-based workflow Experience Required Senior-level Network / Infrastructure Engineer background Proven delivery of engineered solutions (not just operations/support) Experience in large-scale or regulated environments Active SC Clearance Nice to Have SD-WAN Aruba ClearPass / Central F5 BIG-IP Experience modernising legacy networks Note Not suitable for candidates focused purely on operations, incident management, or SRE-only roles.
