These are hands-on engineering opportunities focused on building core services, features and capabilities for an enterprise-grade AI platform. We'd expect experience across a good mix of: Strong Python backend development and FastAPI Generative AI, Agentic AI and Large Language Models RAG architectures, prompt orchestration and vector search AWS cloud engineering, particularly Bedrock and AgentCore RESTful APIs, microservices and distributed systems CI/CD pipelines, DevOps and automation LLM integration, evaluation and performance optimisation Secure application development and observability Experience with Terraform, GitOps, Kong API Gateway, SQL/NoSQL databases and AI evaluation tools such as Promptfoo or Arize would also be useful. Previous experience working within financial services, insurance or other regulated environments would be beneficial. Junior Test Engineer - Networking Location: Derbyshire - Fully Onsite Salary: 25,000- 32,000 DOE + Benefits Employment: Permanent Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance We're working with a specialist technology and engineering business in Derbyshire that is looking to add a Junior Network Test Engineer to its growing Test and Integration team. This is a great opportunity for a graduate, apprentice leaver or early-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience across networking, software testing, systems integration and cyber security technologies. You'll work alongside experienced software, hardware and test engineers, receiving support and mentoring while developing practical experience of testing complex networking products and integrated systems. We're supporting a specialist technology and engineering business in Derbyshire with the appointment of an experienced Applications Test Engineer for an initial 6-12 month contract. You'll be testing Windows-based applications used within complex networking and communications environments. This is a hands-on testing role covering everything from application functionality and usability through to integration with network-connected devices. You'll work alongside software and systems engineers within an established technical team, helping ensure applications and associated systems perform reliably before release. Due to the secure nature of the projects, this assignment is 100% onsite in Derbyshire . The Role You'll be responsible for testing Windows desktop applications and the way they interact with wider networking systems and devices. Typical responsibilities will include: Creating and executing test cases and test procedures. Functional, regression, system and integration testing. Testing Windows/.NET desktop applications. Validating application workflows, usability and UI functionality. Testing communication between software applications and network-connected devices. Investigating, reproducing and documenting software defects. Analysing network traffic using Wireshark or similar tools. Testing networking and device management functionality, including SNMP. Supporting requirements validation and traceability, and producing clear test documentation and reports. Working closely with software developers and systems engineers to troubleshoot issues. Contributing to test automation where appropriate. What We're Looking For We're particularly interested in Test Engineers with experience across a combination of: Windows desktop application testing. Microsoft .NET-based applications. Functional, system, regression and integration testing. Test case and test procedure creation. Requirements-based testing. UI and usability testing. Defect investigation and management. Networking technologies and protocols - TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DHCP, DNS and VPNs. SNMP and network device management. Experience testing applications that interact directly with networking, communications or security hardware would be particularly useful. Following continued project demand, they're looking to bring in a number of experienced contractors across Embedded Software, FPGA and Electronics / Hardware Engineering. These are initial 6-12 month assignments, with potential for longer-term work based on ongoing project requirements and deliverables.
