Intelligence and Impact Analyst Southwark Contract £24.43 per hour PAYE or £31.89 per hour limited paid via umbrella company inside IR35 Our client is looking for an experienced Intelligence and Impact Analyst 3 Days in the office Monday - mandatory with 2 other days on a rota. Purpose of The Job The Intelligence and Impact Analyst exists to help Southwark make better decisions that improve outcomes for residents. The role provides the insight and evidence that enable the council and its partners to understand needs, measure impact, and target resources where they make the greatest difference. By turning complex data into clear, actionable intelligence, the post holder helps the council design effective policies, deliver high-quality services, and evaluate what works. The role supports a culture of curiosity and continuous improvement; empowering teams across the organisation to use data confidently, understand performance, and focus on impact. Through their work, the Intelligence and Impact Analyst ensures that Southwark s delivers high quality services, meets its duties, and that its priorities are grounded in evidence and decisions are informed by a deep understanding of the borough and its residents. This helps the council to deliver more equitable, efficient, and responsive services, improving outcomes and opportunities for everyone who lives and works in Southwark. The post holder will work collaboratively across the council and with partners understanding good practice in data quality, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Responsibilities Lead analytical and intelligence activity within the assigned department, undertaking complex analysis using innovative statistical and analytical methods on large and varied datasets. Provide robust evidence and insight to inform improvement, evaluate impact, and support statutory, corporate and service-level performance reporting within the Council s performance framework. Manage and protect confidential and sensitive data in accordance with information governance principles and partnership agreements, ensuring data is handled ethically and securely. Deliver performance and insight products by using data tools including Excel and Power BI, with potential to use specialist software such as MapInfo, Stata, SAS Enterprise, or R. Apply appropriate techniques for analysis, visualisation and storytelling to translate complex data into accessible and actionable insight. Produce, interpret and present high-quality analytical outputs, including reports, dashboards and visualisations tailored to different audiences to support evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning. Undertake evaluations, needs assessments, forecasting and the development of performance indicators and outcomes frameworks to measure effectiveness, impact and value for money of services, initiatives and interventions. Conduct data and literature reviews, interpret and critically appraise evidence, and provide clear, evidence-based summaries and recommendations that inform policies, programmes and strategies to improve resident outcomes. Support the development of local indicators and metrics linked to corporate priorities and improvement strategies, contributing to the Council s wider performance management and accountability framework. Identify and resolve data quality issues, supporting the implementation of improved systems, processes and preventive measures to strengthen the integrity and reliability of data. Contribute to regular performance reviews and improvement activity, helping embed a culture of curiosity, learning and resident-focused service delivery that drives quality and value for money.
