This is an excellent opportunity for an IT graduate, junior service desk professional, or technically minded customer-service specialist looking to build a career in IT operations. You'll join a supportive team responsible for monitoring business-critical systems, responding to incidents and helping ensure the smooth running of daily operations. Full support will be provided as you develop your technical knowledge and become familiar with the organisation's systems and processes. What You'll Be Doing Monitoring servers, systems, and operational alerts. Logging, updating, and managing incidents through service-management tools. Identifying and prioritising technical issues in line with agreed procedures. Providing clear updates throughout the incident-management process. Supporting specialist teams with technical investigations and resolutions. Assisting with software rebuilds, configurations, and deployments. Escalating more complex issues to senior technical colleagues. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to operational reports. Updating knowledge articles and support documentation. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate: A degree, qualification or strong personal interest in IT, computing or technology. Previous customer-facing experience, ideally within technical support or a service desk. A genuine enthusiasm for developing a career in IT operations. Strong communication and customer service skills. A proactive and adaptable approach to solving problems. Excellent attention to detail and reliable timekeeping. Confidence in learning new systems, applications, and technical tools. A willingness to take ownership and support the wider team. Working Arrangements The role will initially operate on a Monday-to-Friday day shift from 7:00 am until 3:00 pm. Once fully trained, the successful candidate will be expected to move onto the team's shift pattern and provide occasional additional shift coverage when required. This is a fully on-site position based in Havant, with no regular travel required. Contract Details £20.00 per hour. Inside IR35. Initial six-month contract. Opportunity for the assignment to become a rolling contract. Structured training and support from an established operational team.
