Role - Infrastructure Engineer (Windows) Location - Basingstoke Rate - £550 - £600pd (Inside IR35) Experis are looking for an experienced Windows Infrastructure Engineer, with a background of successful delivery in to UK Defence Clients to take on a 12 Month contract role in Basingstoke. Your role: We are looking for a infrastructure engineer to work as part of a multi skilled agile team, including security, service and management where teamwork is paramount. Your role will involve: The successful candidate will work as part of a multi skilled agile team, where teamwork is paramount. The role will be challenging and varied, where cross training is expected, and challenges shared. The successful candidate will have the responsibility of owning the delivery of a work package from design, through prototyping, ensuring the work package meets functional and non-functional requirements. The skills necessary to troubleshoot and problem solve. The candidate will script repeatable unit tests to exercise functionality, which will account for desired and undesired outcomes. The candidate will continue to support the work package through user piloting and into production and will continue to be on hand to provide early life support, as well as creating and maintaining support and design documentation to assist users and support personnel in maintaining the work package throughout its life. The candidate will be responsible for the delivery of ongoing change to the work package, in response to evolving user requirements. Your experience: Candidates must an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems administration within an enterprise environment - delivery of configuration change via GPO, Registry, Filesystem, Powershell cmdlets or, WMI, as well as Windows Update and patching mechanisms, including Windows Installer. Peoplesource Consulting are seeking a Software Engineer with a background in Scala, Play and ETL to take on a 6-month contract role with a Central London based Government client. The programme aim is to Develop iterations of a consolidated pan-archival catalogue to meet users' needs, including services/APIs in Scala (Play) and ETL processes. The specialist will work with a Technical Architect and two RDF Developers. The core in-house team is the Service Owner, Product Manager/Data Analyst, Delivery Manager, a Senior Archivist, and the Head of Cataloguing, Taxonomy and Data. The specialists will also work with a wider group of users including archivists and editors across the organisation responsible for the management of the catalogue. We are developing a Pan-Archival Catalogue and management system, bringing together record descriptions from multiple catalogues into a single new system. You will join a Technical Architect and two other Scala and RDF developers to work on multiple iterations of the Beta development. We will be continuing with the Extract, Transform and Load process and will be developing services in Scala, using Play Framework for the Front End, to enable users to search, select, add, edit, import, export and delete data via a UI. We will be developing further API services to enable integration between the Catalogue and other internal systems.
