We've raised $116M from some of the world's best investors: GV (Google Ventures), Redpoint, Balderton, Point Nine, and 01A. We hire builders who thrive on complex technical challenges, hold themselves to a high bar, and genuinely care about delighting the people who use what they build. The team here brings sharp judgement, real craft, and the drive to do exceptional work. We're obsessed about the details and energized by the frontier. We provide modern tooling, including a generous AI/tooling budget, and encourage thoughtful use of AI-assisted development where it improves speed, understanding, and quality. The team is distributed between the U.K. and U.S., where we maintain a hybrid office for collaboration and deep technical work. What you'll work on Core APIs and services that drive the Rive editor, multiplayer collaboration, asset management, and the Rive Marketplace. Database architecture and optimization, designing schemas and queries that perform at scale and evolve with our product. Our customers use Foundry to perform rich analyses that drive core operations within their organisations. They can also build sophisticated, full fledged programs, such as common operating pictures, alert triaging inboxes, and resource allocation planning tools driven by rich ML models. As a Senior Front End Software Engineer focused on application development in Foundry, you will be responsible for crafting the tools used by thousands of users to build the sophisticated applications that power their businesses. You will be architecting and developing interfaces, state management and access patterns to support data intensive workflows that are both powerful and approachable. You may spend one day interviewing users to better understand their needs and identifying product gaps to improve. The next day, you might find yourself considering that customer context along with signal gathered from other customers in different industries, brainstorming approaches to handling intricate UX needs with your teammates. You'll regularly be faced with sophisticated technical problems, requiring you to scope out the solution design and finding an incremental path to shipping the new features. As part of this, you will own APIs and schemas that power your frontend code, or work with other backend engineers in developing them together. We're hiring engineers who are passionate about solving real world problems and empowering both customer app builders and end users to do their work optimally. Below are some examples of the types of product work you'd get to do in this role: Core Responsiblities Leading and mentoring within our community of engineers and building shared frontend tooling to enable teams across Foundry Architecting and building for high scale data intensive APIs (example) Developing interactive workflow UIs Building products which aim to make technical concepts accessible for non technical users Creating low code/no code WYSIWYG tools, which enable application builders within Foundry to build products for their users Building the user experience for our next generation of pro code tools to enable developers to build on top of Foundry Engaging with signal directly from our forward deployed engineers and deployment strategists to rapidly evolve our product to meet real world requirements. Technologies We Use Typescript, React, and GQL are central to our frontend development. Blueprint as a re usable front end component library. A combination of open source and internal technologies that suit the problems at hand. Industry standard build tooling, including Webpack, GitHub, and CircleCI. What We Value Passion for improving user workflows and building user interfaces that enable users to tackle their problems, while still maintaining engineering quality. Ability to work collaboratively in teams of technical and non technical individuals and understand how technical decisions impact the people who will use what you're building. Skill and comfort working in a constantly evolving environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users. Experience brainstorming and iterating with product designers. Experience building high quality software in a fast paced CI/CD development environment. Proven ability to learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision. Ability to learn new technology and concepts, even without in depth experience. Active UK Security clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain a UK Security clearance is beneficial, but not necessary. What We Require 4+ years of frontend software engineering experience. Experience crafting complex user experiences (UX) with a strong intuition for good design and usability. Experience working with design systems such as Blueprint, Material UI, or similar. Strong frontend coding skills used to write clean, effective code, regardless of framework, and existing proficiency in JavaScript and understanding of how web technologies work. Familiarity with data structures, loading patterns, frontend frameworks, and other technical tools and concepts. Proficiency with programming languages such as JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Everyone is welcome to apply for our roles, and we are determined to ensure that no applicant or employee receives less favourable treatment because of gender, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion, belief, age, marital status, background, pregnancy, or caring responsibilities. We also recognise the importance of diversity of thought within our teams and are fully committed to embracing the talents of people with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other forms of neurocognitive variation. We will always seek to make appropriate adjustments to recruitment, workplaces, and work processes to be fully inclusive to people with different needs and working styles. The Role We are recruiting for a number of fixed term contract opportunities. Contract durations vary, ranging from approximately 12 to 24 months. UMG is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with a strong technical mindset to join a dynamic product team. You will play a pivotal role in the development of a key internal product built in React, bridging the gap between complex business requirements, user experience design, and technical implementation. This role requires technical empathy-the ability to understand how frontend components are constructed and reused, and how the application consumes data from various internal RESTful APIs. You will work within a larger cross functional team comprising Product Owners, Product Managers, and a mix of in house and 3rd party Designers, Developers, and QAs. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into high quality, actionable User Stories and Acceptance Criteria. Facilitate collaborative discovery with Product, Engineering and QA using BDD techniques. Define requirements as Given/When/Then scenarios that clarify business rules, happy paths, edge cases, and non functional expectations, enabling shared understanding and testability. Work closely with UI/UX designers using Figma. Break down high fidelity designs into component level requirements, ensuring developers have clear instructions on how to utilize shared React components. Analyse and document data requirements. Use Swagger to understand available endpoints provided by sibling teams and map them to frontend user experiences. Maintain and prioritise the product backlog in Jira, ensuring a steady flow of "Ready for Dev" items for upcoming sprints. Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including Stand ups, Refinement, Planning, and Retrospectives. Act as a communication bridge between technical engineering teams and non technical business stakeholders. Skills and Experience Required Must have Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst in a software development environment. Strong understanding of Frontend technologies, specifically React. You do not need to code, but you must understand component lifecycles, state, and reusability. Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON data structures, and client server integration. Ability to interpret designs in Figma and identify edge cases, error states, and responsive behaviours before development begins. Expert user of Jira and Confluence for documentation and workflow management. Experience with Swagger (or similar API documentation tools) is essential. Strong practical experience working within a Agile framework (SCRUM / Kanban). Key Behaviours Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical constraints to business users and business logic to developers. Bonus Tracks: Your Benefits Group Personal Pension Scheme (between 3% and 9%) Private Medical Insurance 25 paid days of annual leave Interest Free Season Ticket Loan Holiday Purchase scheme Dental and Travel Insurance options Cycle to Work Scheme Salary Sacrifice Cars Subsidised Gym Membership Employee Discounts (Reward Gateway)
