Developing and maintaining detailed documentation for configurations, processes, and operational procedures. Ensuring all database environments comply with security, governance, and compliance standards. Supporting internal and external audits with necessary evidence and reporting. Skills and Experience: Hands-on experience as a Sybase DBA in enterprise environments. Deep expertise in Sybase ASE administration, tuning, troubleshooting, and configuration. Strong experience with Sybase Replication Server. Advanced SQL skills, including query tuning and a solid understanding of execution plans. Proven experience supporting high-availability, 24/7 production environments. Proficiency with Unix/Linux systems and shell scripting. Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in a contract role with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills, comfortable engaging with senior management, application support, developers, and fellow technologists. Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) or database migration projects. Familiarity with other database technologies such as SQL Server and/or Oracle. Experience in the large-scale financial services enterprise sector. Exposure to automation tools (Python, Ansible) and DevOps practices. Do you have strong Oracle Applications DBA experience and strive for a new and exciting challenge? We are looking for a strong Senior Database Administrator to provide Production and Development Support Services to a major Oracle E-Business Suite. The team comprises of 11 DBA's who are all ensuring that issues and changes resulting from live incidents, maintenance or approved change requests are identified, resolved and tested prior to implementation. The estate primarily comprises the Oracle eBusiness Suite (Payroll, HR, Finance and CRM). A Strategic Management Information (SMI) solution using OBIEE with an Exadata hosted data warehouse. A Hub interface between the main database and satellite systems, some of which are also in-house while others have third party COTS packages as their front end. This is an exciting time for the team, with plans well underway to transform from current systems to the Cloud. What you will be doing: Maintain the Oracle EBusiness system running in a closed secure network. Maintain the Strategic Management Information (SMI) system, running on a mixture of AIX and Linux, and assist in the upgrade to Oracle Analytics Server (OAS 5.9) Maintain and support the SMI Data Warehouse solution hosted on Exadata appliances. Install Oracle software patches to the relevant environments according to the patch's instructions, as advised by the Patching Manager. Ensure that the operations team are able to make direct contact when on call. Ensure the Disaster Recovery system is always receiving shipped logs, and they are being applied in a timely fashion to meet the SLAs. Action allocated incident investigation and ensure that resolutions and actions are performed in the required timescales as prioritised and agreed by the DBA Team. Are you a Senior DBA looking for a new challenge? Reporting to the Technical Operations Lead, the role of the Senior Database Administrator Lead, will be to support delivery of database services within the hosting environment in line with client SLAs. This will involve supporting development and implementation of the database platform ready to be populated by applications from the client and, monitoring, managing and fine-tuning this environment, throughout the whole lifecycle.
