Partner with Site Reliability, IT, and other Security teams to provide expert guidance on enterprise security best practices and drive meaningful improvements to systems and processes. Investigate, propose and implement changes to Spotify's Enterprise Security posture across domains including: IAM, Single Sign on, Endpoint Management, and Networking. You can think like an attacker and understand how to identify risks and implement countermeasures against threats that span identity, endpoint, network, and cloud boundaries. You have a solid understanding of the risks introduced by agentic AI in an enterprise context and you are eager to get hands on identifying and mitigating these risks in our environment. You actively leverage AI tooling to augment your own work and are eager to explore how emerging AI capabilities can be applied to enterprise security challenges. You can critically evaluate tools, practices and procedures, and you're willing to advocate for improvements and change when you see opportunities or risk. You have an understanding of the current threat landscape, and want to be part of a team creating and implementing state of the art security solutions in a SaaS driven enterprise environment. You communicate complex security topics clearly to both technical and non technical audiences, and you're skilled at building alignment across a global, cross functional organization. Acting as a Kubernetes production SME, advising on best practice and operational standards. Influencing platform roadmaps through data driven operational insights. WHAT YOU'LL BRING: Strong real world engineering experience (not purely theoretical), with a genuine appetite to learn, experiment and deepen expertise in modern platform and networking technologies. Deep networking fundamentals, including hands on experience with IP routing, traffic flow, latency and network services, and the ability to reason clearly about how connectivity and performance behave across complex, multi layered systems. Proven experience operating or engineering Kubernetes and container platforms in production, with particular focus on networking inside Kubernetes environments - such as CNI (e.g. Cilium), network policies, ingress/egress, and east west traffic patterns. Cloud and hybrid networking experience, ideally within AWS/EKS environments, including familiarity with VPC design, routing, security controls, and on prem to cloud connectivity, and how these choices impact platform performance and resilience. Strong Linux experience (preferably Ubuntu), with confidence troubleshooting systems end to end - particularly in performance sensitive or latency optimised environments. An automation first mindset, with hands on experience using Terraform, Ansible, scripting and Git based workflows to build, configure and manage infrastructure and networking as code. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and modern delivery practices to safely evolve platform and networking capabilities at scale. The ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues across networking, Linux and Kubernetes layers, working collaboratively with platform engineers, vendors and tenant teams. For more information, visit What We Offer Hybrid working Initial 28 days holiday (before bank holidays) with an accrual of 4 days over first 4 years of service Day off for your birthday + 10 days annual leave purchase per year Length of service awards Work from any location in the world up to 4 weeks per year Bonuses: Discretionary company bonus scheme & new business bonus, employee referral bonus Pension & Group life insurance Private healthcare, enhanced parental, Employee assistance program Annual season ticket loan, Cycle to work scheme + Tech & voucher schemes Eye test & contribution towards glasses for VDU Charity Day plus fund raising events for charity Learning & development opportunities Frequent events; such as summer, winter & bi weekly socials Free fruit & snacks + building linked benefits such as being dog friendly, access to gyms & complementary gifts, classes or discounts The Role This role is for Data Platform Engineer, based in London. This role sits within our Data & Insights team, which provides the analytical infrastructure that underpins our advisory work. The team is building a modern data lakehouse on Snowflake, migrating legacy Alteryx and Tableau workflows into automated, versioned pipelines, and packaging outputs as software products with formal release cycles. We treat data engineering with the same discipline as product engineering: version controlled, tested, continuously delivered, and documented. The role itself will involve a range of activities including: Release lifecycle ownership (end to end): treat data products like software products by defining a clear release strategy (versioning, promotion through environments, rollback), and managing database/schema changes so delivery is predictable, low risk, and repeatable CI/CD, testing & Git workflow: build and maintain automated test and deployment pipelines; establish branching and PR review discipline; write unit, integration, and data quality tests as a matter of course (not an afterthought) Operational health of the data platform: own monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response for data pipelines and platform services; administer and optimise Snowflake (compute, performance, cost management, and access controls) Legacy maintenance & migration (supporting responsibility): maintain and gradually migrate legacy pipelines and applications across Alteryx, AWS, and Azure into the core lakehouse platform Infrastructure, security & data governance: contribute to reproducible, auditable environment management (Terraform or equivalent); help define and implement access controls, secrets handling, and data governance guardrails across CI/CD, Snowflake, and cloud services so security and compliance are built in by default Interfaces, standards & collaboration: work with analysts and data scientists to define clean interfaces and data contracts; help establish and evolve shared engineering standards and ways of working so delivery is repeatable, low friction, and resilient Documentation & runbooks: maintain clear technical documentation, operational runbooks, and post incident learnings so knowledge is transferable and systems don't rely on tribal memory The Candidate This is a hands on role for someone who wants real ownership in a lean, fast moving team. You bring software engineering discipline as a default behaviour: you default to automation over manual process, you question un versioned or untested code, and you treat CI/CD, testing, and release management as core practice applied to data products. The ideal candidate will have the following: Required (core) General project management- ability to manage timelines, communicate to stakeholders, and deliver to scope CI/CD & release management - practical experience owning automated build/test/deploy pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent), environment promotion, rollbacks, and change control Python - fluent for automation and pipeline/tooling development; writes clear, maintainable, testable code Git workflow & code review discipline - comfortable establishing branching strategy, pull request practices, and merge standards so a small team can ship safely Testing & quality mindset - writes tests as a default (unit/integration/data quality) and understands how to make failures visible and actionable (e.g., pytest, dbt tests, Great Expectations or equivalent) Debugging, troubleshooting & maintainable architecture - comfortable finding root causes in production issues; has opinions on how to structure a codebase that three people can work in without stepping on each other; values documentation and runbooks Required (domain) Snowflake - hands on with data modelling, SQL optimisation, compute management, and access controls dbt - production experience building and deploying models, tests, macros, and documentation Desirable AWS and/or Azure - comfortable navigating cloud environments to maintain and progressively migrate legacy workloads Orchestration - Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or equivalent Infrastructure as code - Terraform or similar Data governance & observability - lineage, data quality frameworks, access policy, and monitoring/alerting practices Strong academic background in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related discipline preferred. More important than credentials: direct ownership, clear communication about what you know and don't, and code you're proud to have the next person read. Every application is reviewed by a human on our team (not AI), so it may take us a bit of time to get through them. Because of the large number of applications we receive, we're not always able to reply to everyone individually especially via messages but we truly appreciate your interest. Please note that we can only consider candidates who already have the right to work in the UK and do not require, now or in the future, visa sponsorship.

Senior Python Engineer
CFC
Senior Python Engineer Department: Global Security Services Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: UK - London Description Working within our Cyber Data Services team, which is at the core of our Proactive Insurance product offering and CFC's promise to protect our policyholders from existing and emerging cyber security vulnerabilities and threats. You will play a key role in developing the company's competitive advantage in aggregating, presenting, and analysing large datasets. You will contribute to the development of our proprietary data platform and work to solve problems that are key to protecting our policyholders. Your contributions will have a material impact on the business as a whole where you will be expected to play a role designing and implementing new data capabilities (ingesting large datasets, building robust & high-performance APIs, consuming high-frequency event streams), as well as improving the quality of our existing products and solutions. About the role In this role, you'll work across CFC's modern technology stack, contributing to solutions built with Python, Linux (via WSL), PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Databricks, and cloud infrastructure spanning both Azure and AWS. A core part of your work involves designing and implementing advanced data ingestion and transformation pipelines, as well as orchestrating large-scale, parallel network I/O processes. You'll collaborate closely with engineering and infrastructure teams to maintain and enhance Infrastructure as Code, helping develop new features for CFC's Engineering Platform. Working with peers and data customers, you'll model data for both operational and analytical use cases, contributing to the evolution of a data mesh architecture across the wider enterprise. Ensuring high-quality data is a key focus-supporting data quality metrics, evaluating new data sources, and improving overall data reliability throughout the estate. Quality and automation are central to the role. You'll help strengthen CI/CD processes to support efficient, bug free releases and maintain clear, accessible technical documentation. You'll also contribute to test automation, assess application security against CFC standards, and ensure APIs comply with relevant internal guidelines. Beyond technical delivery, you'll be part of a pairing first, collaborative engineering culture-sharing knowledge, learning from colleagues, and supporting less experienced team members through mentoring, design reviews, and code reviews. You'll actively participate in open, honest discussions about design decisions and help foster a safe, constructive working environment. About you This role calls for someone with strong Python expertise, ideally across PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Databricks, and who is fully comfortable working without an ORM. You should be confident operating with data at scale and enjoy a command line-driven workflow using tools like git, bash or zsh, and optionally vim. A background-formal or practical-in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Logic, Applied Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related discipline will further strengthen your foundation for success. You'll bring the ability to clearly grasp and articulate technical solutions, adapting your communication style for both technical and non technical audiences. Applying agile principles intelligently will be a natural part of how you work. You should also be comfortable interrogating and presenting data, and willing to showcase analytical outcomes on behalf of your team. Finally, the role requires demonstrable experience as a senior software engineer with a strong emphasis on Python. You'll combine hands on development capability with strong analytical thinking and the communication skills needed to advocate for high quality engineering practices.
