Job description: WHAT TO EXPECT There now exists an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Research Engineer, specifically in the area of Electrical Architectures / Networks, to develop, guide and deliver projects to support the "Digitalisation and Connectivity" theme. This will involve development of enabling technologies to deliver a truly flexible and efficient electrical platform on which the amazing capabilities and features on our cars can be built. A key focus for the team currently is in investigating opportunities where wireless technologies could be applied on the vehicle with a view simplify harness on the car and allowing greater flexibility to configure/layout Electronics Control Units/Compute modules on the car. The opportunity: The selected candidate will: Demonstrate core knowledge in modern front-end stacks (CSS, Javascript, node.js, React, HTML) Delivers solution or infrastructure development services, such as coding, programming and creating program specifications in a defined project, using sound technical capabilities Develops, modifies and maintains solutions or infrastructure, ensuring compliance with the relevant standards Works with users to capture requirements and peer reviews design specifications Your key responsibilities Produces high-quality solution or infrastructure deliverables in accordance with project timelines and specifications, using sound coding and programming skills Performs coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the development process contributing to moderately complex aspects of a project Maintains and enhances systems by fixing complicated errors, raising risks and escalating issues where necessary Works with users to capture detailed requirements, translating designs and solution architecture into design specifications Monitors and reports on potential risks/opportunities of emerging technologies, and seeks areas for continuous improvement Ensures all activities adhere to the relevant processes, procedures, standards and technical design Work closely with Product Management to plan and negotiate iterative development cycles in an Agile environment Completion of assigned tasks on time and regular status reporting to the lead Keen sense of urgency and the ability to prioritize problems, analyse and resolve issues.
