You will also be supported with training on different areas to help you broaden your knowledge. The role is hybrid with 2 days a week in our Gosport Office. What you will be doing: Maintain the Oracle EBusiness system running in a closed secure network. Maintain the Strategic Management Information (SMI) system, running on a mixture of AIX and Linux, and assist in the upgrade to Oracle Analytics Server (OAS 5.9) Maintain and support the SMI Data Warehouse solution hosted on Exadata appliances. Install Oracle software patches to the relevant environments according to the patch's instructions, as advised by the Patching Manager. Supervise and tune the database environment, ensuring system integrity and performance. Respond to and resolve database problems to ensure system availability. Ensure that the operations team are able to make direct contact when on call. Ensure the Disaster Recovery system is always receiving shipped logs, and they are being applied in a timely fashion to meet the SLAs. Action allocated incident investigation and ensure that resolutions and actions are performed in the required timescales as prioritised and agreed by the DBA Team. The team run the technical infrastructure applications that are responsible for coordinating pay for veterans. The service was formed in 2007 to provide harmonised administration services and accurate processing of pay, allowances, and pensions to the veterans' communities. IT looks to modernise the way the Client carry out pay administration, based on the introduction of policy and regulations supported by new administration processes and Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software. The role is Hybrid with two days per week based in our Gosport office and 3 days remote. What you'll be doing: Manage SQL scripts, collaborating closely with ORACLE on the content of scripts and running scripts on JPA. Producing paperwork for RCB, updating dimensions, creating DBA requests, obtaining customer approval for the changes, Liaising with the functional team members during process. Assist with the resolution of queries raised with the Data Team and other teams.
