Job Description: The opportunity We're working with a well-backed London fintech operating in Embedded finance and open banking. They help SMEs access Real Time payments, business lending and financial data services and they're scaling fast, with a growing loan book and bank-grade platform ambitions. This is a senior IC role with genuine technical leadership. You'll be the onshore engineering lead owning architecture, code review standards and day-to-day technical direction for a distributed engineering team, while remaining hands-on in the codebase. What you'll own Technical leadership of a distributed team architecture decisions, code review culture and engineering standards A live platform migration from Legacy Angular/.NET onto a modern NestJS/Next.js monorepo currently in flight and progressing fast Greenfield architecture decisions on a Partner API, API gateway layer and new lending product surfaces Day-to-day collaboration with an offshore team of five engineers who own features end-to-end the right person will treat them as peers, not a delivery resource AI-augmented engineering workflows the team uses Claude Code heavily and expects their lead to embrace and optimise AI-assisted development The stack Next.js 15React 19NestJSTypeScriptNode.jsGCPPostgreSQLMicroservicesApigeeCloud RunOpen Bankingshadcn/uiPostHog What we're looking for Actively hands-on you've been writing production code in the last six months Comfortable leading offshore or distributed engineers as collaborators, not just output owners Strong code review discipline and a high bar for quality Fluent in AI-augmented development workflows Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or equivalent Solid grasp of cloud-native architecture, ideally on GCP Fintech, open banking or payments exposure helpful but not essential if the engineering depth is there UK-based, able to commit to three days per week in Central London Compensation and benefits Base salary £100k - £125k DOE Equity Employee Growth Shares Health Private medical Pension Company contribution The process Stage 1 introductory conversation with the CTO Stage 2 technical deep-dive and programming exercise using Claude Stage 3 culture-fit conversations with the wider team and executive leadership £100000 - £125000/year Talent International UK and it's subsidiaries, Digital Gurus, Infinite Talent and Rethink act as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
