Location: London, UK(2 days in a week from office, Hybrid) Job type: 6 Months contract with possible extension Active SC Clearance is required.(Mandatory) We are seeking a high-caliber Azure Architect to lead complex infrastructure transformations. In this role, you won't just design solutions; you will govern the technical strategy, mentor a dedicated team of engineers, and bridge the gap between deep technical Linux administration and high-level Azure cloud architecture. Key Responsibilities Cloud Strategy & Assessment: Lead end-to-end On-prem/Public Cloud assessments using Azure Migrate . You will be responsible for understanding customer landscapes and designing robust Azure Landing Zones . Architectural Leadership: Develop High-Level (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents, including comprehensive target architecture diagrams and Bill of Materials (BoM). Migration Execution: Drive large-scale migrations of Linux-based workloads to Azure, ensuring solutions align with TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and ROI goals. Linux Mastery: Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Linux environments, managing kernel tuning, logical volumes, shell scripting, and advanced networking (bonding, bridging, and DNS). Security & Governance: Oversee Azure IAM, Key Vault, and general security protocols within a UNIX environment to ensure compliant and hardened architectures. Performance Optimization: Implement and tune high-performance web stacks using Apache, Varnish for caching, and HAProxy for load balancing. Team Leadership: Manage and technically govern a team of 5+ infrastructure engineers, providing guidance on root-cause analysis and complex troubleshooting. Required Skills & Experience Experience: 12+ years in IT, with at least 5+ years specifically focused on Azure Infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS, Networking, Storage). Migration Expertise: Proven track record using Azure Migrate and driving complex solutioning for banking, healthcare, or insurance domains. Linux Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Linux systems (OS restoration, daemon management, Postfix/SendMail, and file-based storage like NFS/SMB). Network/Security: Deep understanding of Azure Networking, SIAM, and data security. Troubleshooting: Expert-level ability to perform root-cause analysis on processor, memory, IO, and cluster-related issues. Desirable Skills Automation: Familiarity with Configuration Management tools like Ansible or Chef . DevOps: Experience with Git, Jenkins, and scripting in Python, Bash, or Ruby .
