Who we are Chefs in Schools is a young, ambitious charity that's rapidly growing. Our mission is to improve kids' health, through improving school food & food education. We focus our efforts in areas of high socio-economic deprivation, where more than a third of children are entitled to free school meals, and diet-related disease is driving further inequality. We support and train school kitchen teams to serve the best, freshest and tastiest food possible, alongside meaningful food education. We share learning and resources, aiming to inspire and enable others to follow our lead. We're backed by some of the biggest names in food and have ambitious targets to ensure every child has access to incredible school food and food education, setting them up for life with the skills and knowledge to feed themselves well. About you and the role As our Digital Manager, you will be the strategic anchor, quality guardian, and operational driving force behind our online presence. You will fully own the performance of our two primary websites: the main Chefs in Schools (CIS) platform and the complex, public-facing School Food Project (SFP) national resource and coalition hub. You will be directly accountable for driving traffic, mastering SEO, maintaining exceptional content quality, and ensuring a seamless, highly secure user experience against clear, measurable targets. This is a leadership role that bridges technical execution and creative strategy. You will act as the crucial, confident link between our external technical agencies (who build and maintain the infrastructure of the sites) and our internal content creators and programme teams. Crucially, you will be an empowering manager, leading a dedicated digital sub-team of 1-2 direct reports, supporting them to manage day-to-day content workflows, e-learning administration, and community moderation. We are looking for someone solutions-focused, collaborative, and deeply analytical who takes pride in helping a high-profile, mission-driven organization run at its absolute best. Key responsibilities: 1. Website Ownership & Performance Management Own the overarching strategy and performance of our two flagship websites (CIS and SFP), optimizing UX and UI for user journeys, design, and maximum accessibility standards across both sites. Own and maintain a forward-looking, prioritized digital platform roadmap, striking a strategic balance between long-term feature development and agile, day-to-day reactive requests Ensure both platforms-particularly the highly visible, national School Food Project website-maintain the highest standards of data security, uptime, quality assurance, and accessibility, proactively managing risks associated with public scrutiny. Take end-to-end ownership of web analytics and data integrity-from configuring custom event tracking to reporting on performance-utilizing Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for quantitative metrics and Microsoft Clarity for behavioral insights. Set, monitor, and report against clear performance targets spanning web traffic, user engagement, resource downloads, and search rankings. Lead content and platform feature reviews through a risk mitigation lens-ensuring strict compliance with safeguarding, privacy, and coalition guidelines-while running targeted A/B tests to optimize user experience. Lead on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy to maximize organic reach and connect school leaders, chefs, and partners to our resources. Establish and manage digital incident response protocols, defining clear workflows for first responders, triage steps, and escalation pathways in the event of site outages, technical bugs, or security breaches. 2. Agency & Supplier Management Act as the primary, confident technical interface with our external web development agencies and tech suppliers, holding them accountable to high-quality delivery. Translate internal program, comms, and membership goals into clear technical design briefs, managing timelines and tracking project budgets. Coordinate rigorous testing of new features, bug logging, and site maintenance to guarantee absolute platform stability before public deployments. 3. Team Leadership & Collaboration Line manage, mentor, and support 1-2 direct reports (including roles focused on systems, community moderation, and resource uploads). Work closely with the Communications team, External Relations team and Programme Leads to align digital development with broader organization campaigns and resource rollouts. Oversee the content calendar and governance for both sites, ensuring all published assets strictly adhere to brand tone of voice and quality standards, working closely with the senior social media officer, engagement team to ensure cross org planning . 4. Data, CRM & Systems Integration Oversee the data integrity and smooth technical flow between our website frontends, e-learning platform (LMS), and internal CRM systems. Ensure all digital systems, data tracking, user permissions, and marketing platforms comply fully with GDPR and organizational data protection policies. Construct and present scannable dashboards and reports (using Google Analytics and CRM data) for the Senior Leadership Team and stakeholders to demonstrate impact. Essential Skills and Experience Digital Product & Platform Leadership: Proven experience managing digital products, websites, or online platforms-ideally at a Manager level within a charity, agency, or fast-paced setting. Complex Systems Integration: Strong confidence managing (or partnering with a technical agency to manage) integrated digital environments where the CMS, CRM, and LMS operate as a unified platform. You must be comfortable understanding and troubleshooting multi-layered user access permissions (e.g., tailored journeys for different school types and member tiers). Foundational literacy in HTML and CSS to troubleshoot layout issues, understand site structure, and effectively translate technical requirements to developers. Agency & Project Management: Confident experience collaborating with, briefing, and managing external technical partners, developers, or freelance technical staff to deliver complex features on time and on budget. People Management: Demonstrable experience managing, mentoring, and developing direct reports, fostering a supportive and high-performing team environment. Data Fluency & Quality Control: Ability to analyze, clean, and visualize data (using Google Analytics, CRM reporting, or spreadsheets) to monitor site performance, ensure data integrity across system integrations, and drive user experience improvements. Communication & Collaboration: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; able to translate complex "technical speak" for non-expert internal staff, write brand-aligned content, and build strong cross-team relationships. Mission Alignment: A deep personal commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, alongside a genuine interest in our mission to transform child health through school food. Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with online community/forum moderation and user engagement strategies. Prior experience working within the wider charity sector. Benefits You would be joining a friendly, supportive team who works hard but believe in a healthy work/life balance. We were voted one of CODE Hospitality's happiest places to work in 2024. We seek a diverse range of perspectives, skills, experience and knowledge. Joining a small, collaborative team means you'll be able to contribute to and draw on various projects and strategic insights. We offer 33 days of holiday per year including bank holidays, 3 additional office closure days over the Christmas period as well as wellbeing days over the summer school holidays. We also have a Cycle to Work scheme, hybrid working, enhanced parental leave, and free access to the CODE app for discounted restaurants & hospitality venues. Why Sony Interactive Entertainment? Sony Interactive Entertainment isn't just the Best Place to Play - it's also the Best Place to Work. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the PlayStation brand. As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we're part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting edge hardware and network services to more than 100million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity. Location: United Kingdom, London We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build the tools and automated systems we use to validate audio technologies in the PlayStation SDK. This role sits within SDK Quality Engineering, but the work is primarily software engineering. You'll design and build audio analysis tools, automated validation pipelines, regression detection systems, and developer facing diagnostics that help engineers understand whether audio behaviour is correct, stable, and release ready. You'll work closely with Audio SDK engineers and platform teams to turn complex audio quality problems into measurable, repeatable engineering systems. The right person will have strong C/C++ and Python skills, practical digital audio knowledge, and experience building reliable tools, automation, or analysis systems. Previous testing or QE experience is helpful, but we're most interested in engineers who can write production quality code, reason about audio behaviour, and build systems that other engineers depend on. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain audio validation tools for PlayStation SDK audio libraries and technologies. Write C/C++ and Python code to analyse audio output, detect regressions, compare SDK versions, and validate expected behaviour. Build automated systems for repeatable audio quality measurement, including signal analysis, spectral comparison, latency checks, conformance checks, and regression detection. Create tooling that gives engineers clear evidence when audio behaviour changes. Work with Audio SDK engineers to understand features, risks, expected behaviour, and testability needs. Integrate audio validation into CI, build pipelines, reporting, dashboards, and release workflows. Investigate complex audio issues using debugging, data analysis, signal processing, and collaboration with domain experts. Own technical areas end to end, from requirements and design through implementation, documentation, maintenance, and support. Help define standards for maintainable, reproducible, and trustworthy audio validation tooling. Mentor engineers and share knowledge across SDK QE and Audio SDK teams. Qualifications Strong professional software engineering experience. Strong C/C++ development skills. Strong Python development skills. Practical understanding of digital audio fundamentals (PCM audio, sample rates, channels, latency, dynamic range, filtering, resampling, encoding, frequency domain analysis). Experience building tools, automation, analysis systems, SDK components, test infrastructure, or developer facing systems. Strong debugging skills across code, data, tooling, environments, and pipelines. Ability to take ambiguous technical problems and turn them into robust, maintainable software. Experience with source control, code review, CI, and collaborative engineering workflows. Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining technical findings to engineers with different specialisms. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Audio Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience. Strongly preferred: experience with audio analysis, signal processing, or automated media validation; experience validating libraries, APIs, command line tools, SDKs, runtime systems, or platform level software; experience with automated regression detection and quality measurement; experience working with CI systems such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Buildkite, TeamCity, or similar; experience with test frameworks such as GTest, CppUnit, PyTest, or similar. Useful extras: Game audio, console audio, real time audio systems, middleware, audio engines, or SDK development; perceptual or objective audio quality approaches (loudness measurement, spectral comparison, null testing, impulse response analysis, latency measurement, glitch detection, dropout detection, PESQ, POLQA, or PEAQ); spatial audio, 3D audio, binaural rendering, ambisonics, HRTFs, object based audio, or immersive audio formats; performance profiling, numerical correctness testing, floating point tolerances, or cross platform determinism; dashboards, telemetry, reporting, or trend analysis; technical leadership, mentoring, or leading work across multiple teams. Success Audio regressions are detected earlier through automated validation. Engineers have clearer evidence when audio behaviour changes between SDK versions. Audio quality checks are integrated into repeatable CI or release workflows. Key audio validation tools are documented, maintainable, and trusted by engineering teams. The team has a clearer technical strategy for audio quality measurement. You are recognised as a senior technical owner for audio validation systems within SDK QE. Your opportunity Janus Henderson is undertaking a firm wide AI transformation programme to embed AI capabilities across every business function and become the most technologically sophisticated asset manager in the world. The AI Academy has already been established with a focus on helping users consume AI inside M365. Our next major expansion is enabling the firm's builders - engineers, architects, product owners, analysts, data engineers, quants, and platform specialists - to encode AI into the way technology is delivered and operated. The AI Business Partner for Builders will design and run this expansion. You will define the curriculum, stand up the cohort model, and partner across Technology, Investments, and Innovation to ensure all builders are utilizing modern AI tooling with broad knowledge sharing on best practices and organizational knowledge on the latest developments in AI deployment. You will also work closely with Percepta and the technology organization to extend the program into maximizing the AI native application development occurring on JHOS. This is not a purely a training role or governance role. It sits at the intersection of hands on technical credibility, program design, and change enablement - helping builders work differently and accelerate our AI transformation. This will include directly engaging with builders on specific high priority projects, and then extending that learning and knowledge to the rest of the community. You will report into the Head of Innovation and operate within the AI Academy framework alongside the AI Business Partner team, sharing infrastructure, governance, comms, and the firm wide adoption dashboard. Your primary toolkit today spans the modern AI engineering stack - coding agents, agentic harnesses, MCP, in platform AI in Snowflake and Databricks, and the JHOS / NEXUS platform Percepta is building - but the firm's AI strategy is platform agnostic. You will be expected to evaluate, learn, and deploy new tools as the landscape evolves. Responsibilities Design and run the Builders curriculum: a general foundation for all builders (tools, models, agentic patterns, cross persona level setting) and role specific tracks for app engineers, data engineers, architects, security, product owners, and analysts Design and lead the Builders cohort - the technologist equivalent of Air Traffic Controllers - running them through the material first, iterating with their feedback, and equipping them to cascade training through their teams Partner with Percepta and the Technology org to design Phase 3: enabling engineers to build AI native applications on the JHOS platform, including agent orchestration, governance, and the NEXUS workspace Run hands on, workshop style sessions grounded in participants' real sprint work covering coding agents, agentic CI/CD, planning with LLMs, spec writing and verification, long running agents, and team level skill sharing (CLAUDE.md, SKILLS.md, shared prompt libraries) Partner with Technology, Security, and Architecture to resolve adoption blockers - acceptable use guidance, access paths, budget signals, approved tools - so builders know what is sanctioned and can experiment with confidence Develop and implement appropriate metrics within the AI Academy framework: pipeline telemetry (deploy frequency, lead time, change failure rate, time to restore), survey based signals (focus time, perceived effectiveness), and adoption data across GitHub Copilot, AI Foundry, APIM, Cortex, Databricks Genie Code, and the forthcoming LLM Gateway Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI engineering landscape - coding agents, agentic harnesses, MCP, model releases, benchmarks, DORA and industry research - and translate what matters into practical curriculum changes Collaborate with Technology, Security, and Responsible AI teams to ensure curriculum, tools, and patterns taught are aligned with the firm's governance, data privacy, and compliance posture Carry out other duties as assigned What to expect when you join our firm Hybrid working and reasonable accommodations Generous holiday policies Excellent health and wellbeing benefits including corporate membership to Wellhub Paid volunteer time to step away from your desk and into the community Support to grow through professional development courses, tuition/qualification reimbursement and more Maternal/paternal leave benefits and family services All employee events including networking opportunities and social activities Lunch allowance for use within our subsidised onsite canteen Must have skills Hands on engineering credibility - you have shipped software and you currently use modern coding agents (GitHub Copilot agent mode, Claude Code, OpenCode, or equivalent) on real work. You can sit down with a senior engineer, pair on their codebase, and add value within the hour Working fluency with the modern AI engineering stack - agentic harnesses, MCP, repo level context (CLAUDE.md / SKILLS.md), agentic CI/CD patterns, long running agents, and the tradeoffs between line completion, agent mode, and orchestrated multi agent workflows Curriculum design and facilitation experience - you have built and run technical training, workshops, or enablement programmes for engineers and other technologists, and you know the difference between a session people endure and one they apply on Monday morning Strong cross persona communication - equally credible with a staff engineer debating verification strategy, a product owner rewriting a spec for an agent, an architect worried about review throughput, and an SLT sponsor asking about ROI Practical change management instincts - you understand that tools and training are only half the job; surfacing and removing adoption blockers - access, acceptable use, budget, fear - is the other half Business analysis and measurement literacy - comfortable with DORA metrics, SPACE, developer experience research, and the difference between adoption (a prerequisite) and value (the goal). You can design a survey, interpret pipeline telemetry, and avoid vanity metrics Self directed and comfortable with ambiguity - this effort is brand new; you will define how it runs, with sponsorship but without a detailed playbook Strong documentation instincts - you produce reusable curriculum, patterns, and playbooks that outlast your direct involvement and can be picked up by cohort members and other Academy leads Experience working in a regulated environment (financial services, healthcare, legal, government) where governance, compliance, and data sensitivity shape how tools are evaluated, approved, and deployed Nice to have skills Direct experience in financial services or asset management, particularly exposure to investment technology, quant platforms, trading systems, or data engineering in a regulated context Experience building or operating AI native applications - agent orchestration, retrieval systems, evaluation pipelines, LLM application architecture Familiarity with the Janus Henderson Technology stack or analogous environments: Azure AI Foundry, APIM fronted LLM gateways, Snowflake Cortex, Databricks Genie Code, GitHub Enterprise, Jira / ServiceNow workflows Familiarity with the JHOS / NEXUS platform direction or comparable internal AI platforms built on top of foundation models Background in developer experience, platform engineering, or internal tooling - where success is measured by other engineers' productivity, not your own commits Experience leading a community of practice, internal guild, or cohort based enablement programme Product management sensibility - MVPs, iteration, user feedback, prioritisation - applied to curriculum and enablement rather than software features Familiarity with DORA research, SPACE, Accelerate, and current industry thinking on AI's impact on the software development lifecycle Public contributions - talks, writing, open source - that demonstrate ongoing engagement with the AI engineering community Supervisory responsibilities No - but you will lead the Builders effort and develop cohort members, equipping them to facilitate within their own teams Potential for growth Leadership development programmes Regular training Career development services Continuing education courses Microsoft AI, GitHub, Anthropic, and cloud platform certification pathways Exposure to a firm wide AI transformation programme with direct executive visibility Opportunity to shape a new function - the Tier 3 lead role is being established for the first time at Janus Henderson, with scope to define how AI enablement scales across the firm's technologist population and into AI native product development on JHOS Benefits Competitive compensation, pension/retirement plans, and various health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits Annual discretionary bonus opportunity - subject to company profit pool and performance You will be expected to understand the regulatory obligations of the firm, and abide by the regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for your role. City: London Division: Corporate - CFO Why work for us? A career at Janus Henderson is more than a job, it's about investing in a brighter future together. Our Mission at Janus Henderson We help clients define and achieve superior financial outcomes through differentiated insights, disciplined investments, and world-class service. We will do this by protecting and growing our core business, amplifying our strengths and diversifying where we have the right. Our Values Clients Come First - Always Execution Supersedes Intention Together We Win Diversity Improves Results Truth Builds Trust If our mission, values, and purpose align with your own, we would love to hear from you! Your opportunity Janus Henderson is undertaking a firm-wide AI transformation programme to embed AI capabilities across every business function and become the most technologically sophisticated asset manager in the world. The AI Academy has already been established with a focus on helping users consume AI inside M365. Our next major expansion is enabling the firm's builders-engineers, architects, product owners, analysts, data engineers, quants, and platform specialists-to encode AI into the way technology is delivered and operated. You will also work closely with Percepta and the technology organization to extend the program into maximizing the AI-native application development occurring on JHOS. This is not a purely a training role or governance role. It sits at the intersection of hands on technical credibility, program design, and change enablement-helping builders work differently and accelerate our AI transformation. Your primary toolkit today spans the modern AI engineering stack-coding agents, agentic harnesses, MCP, in platform AI in Snowflake and Databricks, and the JHOS / NEXUS platform Percepta is building- but the firm's AI strategy is platform agnostic. You will be expected to evaluate, learn, and deploy new tools as the landscape evolves. Design and run the Builders curriculum: a general foundation for all builders (tools, models, agentic patterns, cross persona level setting) and role specific tracks for app engineers, data engineers, architects, security, product owners, and analysts Design and lead the Builders cohort - the technologist equivalent of Air Traffic Controllers - running them through the material first, iterating with their feedback, and equipping them to cascade training through their teams Partner with Percepta and the Technology org to design Phase 3: enabling engineers to build AI native applications on the JHOS platform, including agent orchestration, governance, and the NEXUS workspace Run hands on, workshop style sessions grounded in participants' real sprint work covering coding agents, agentic CI/CD, planning with LLMs, spec writing and verification, long running agents, and team level skill sharing (CLAUDE.md, SKILLS.md, shared prompt libraries). Partner with Technology, Security, and Architecture to resolve adoption blockers - acceptable use guidance, access paths, budget signals, approved tools - so builders know what is sanctioned and can experiment with confidence Develop and implement appropriate metrics within the AI Academy framework: pipeline telemetry (deploy frequency, lead time, change failure rate, time to restore), survey based signals (focus time, perceived effectiveness), and adoption data across GitHub Copilot, AI Foundry, APIM, Cortex, Databricks Genie Code, and the forthcoming LLM Gateway Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI engineering landscape-coding agents, agentic harnesses, MCP, model releases, benchmarks, DORA and industry research-and translate what matters into practical curriculum changes Collaborate with Technology, Security, and Responsible AI teams to ensure curriculum, tools, and patterns taught are aligned with the firm's governance, data privacy, and compliance posture Carry out other duties as assigned What to expect when you join our firm Hybrid working and reasonable accommodations Generous Holiday policies Excellent Health and Wellbeing benefits including corporate membership to Wellhub Paid volunteer time to step away from your desk and into the community Support to grow through professional development courses, tuition/qualification reimbursement and more Maternal/paternal leave benefits and family services All employee events including networking opportunities and social activities Lunch allowance for use within our subsidized onsite canteen Must have skills Hands on engineering credibility. You have shipped software, and you currently use modern coding agents (GitHub Copilot agent mode, Claude Code, OpenCode, or equivalent) on real work. You can sit down with a senior engineer, pair on their codebase, and add value within the hour Working fluency with the modern AI engineering stack - agentic harnesses, MCP, repo level context (CLAUDE.md / SKILLS.md), agentic CI/CD patterns, long running agents, and the tradeoffs between line completion, agent mode, and orchestrated multi agent workflows Curriculum design and facilitation experience - you have built and run technical training, workshops, or enablement programmes for engineers and other technologists, and you know the difference between a session people endure and one they apply on Monday morning Strong cross persona communication. Equally credible with a staff engineer debating verification strategy, a product owner rewriting a spec for an agent, an architect worried about review throughput, and an SLT sponsor asking about ROI Practical change management instincts. You understand that tools and training are only half the job; surfacing and removing adoption blockers - access, acceptable use, budget, fear - is the other half Business analysis and measurement literacy. Comfortable with DORA metrics, SPACE, developer experience research, and the difference between adoption (a prerequisite) and value (the goal).
