System Administrator

Systems Administrator We are looking for a couple of Systems Administrators to join our client’s small but growing team in the Oxford area. The role combines maintenance and projects as they advance their systems with newer technologies and tools. You will be passionate about and take pride in the work you are doing and thrive on challenges in a high-pressure environment. Primary Technologies * UNIX operating systems (FreeBSD/CentOS) * Databases (PostgreSQL) * Mail (PowerMTA/Exim/Postfix) * HTTP/HTTPS (NGINX/Varnish/lighttpd/Apache) * Juniper/Cisco networking Required Skills * Demonstrate a high level of experience with a UNIX-like system * Large volume email sending and issue mitigation * Solid understanding of database systems (PostgreSQL/MySQL/MariaDB) * Basic networking experience * Knowledge of load balancing solutions (haproxy/nginx) * Ability to write scripts to assist with tasks and automation (bash/python) * Excellent communicator, must be able to communicate effectively in high pressure situations Desirable Skills * Experience with PostgreSQL HA clusters * Config management (puppet/ansible/chef) * Advanced network knowledge (switching/routing/firewalling) * ZFS experience * Centralised authentication (LDAP/Active Directory/RADIUS) Please only apply for this role if you have the required skills, the right to work in the UK, and live within a 1 hour commute of OX2
