Job Description

A leading company on global customer insight, big data and analytics require an experienced Developer to provide leadership and implementation of software development languages that produce powerful insight products. You will design and develop analytic system using a range of tools and languages, especially C and JVM languages, Java and Scala, on a Unix platform. The role will involve high level design and development that brings to life cutting edge customer insight products for retail. This is not a role to baby sit the technology. All work is in an Agile environment (Kanban and Scrum), with TDD. Most of all, this role is for a developer who loves working as part of a team to produce cutting edge products - you'll build close relationships with users, test teams and product managers. Required experience: A solid understanding of one or some of the following: C Java Scala C# would also be of interest if you are willing to move in to Java Full appreciation of the software development lifecycle Experience of large scale web site design Any knowledge of asynchronous computation and service oriented concepts (Hadoop, service busses, actor models etc) would be a good advantage. The company are a global organisation who are going through great growth. It's a fast paced and exciting environment, and you'll need to keep up with the latest technologies. You will receive 26 days leave, a good bonus scheme and a flexible benefits package. On the last Friday of the month the whole company finish at 2pm, and 4pm on all other Fridays.
