Junior DevOps Engineers x 7(Seven) - Cloud, Unix. Scripting + 7 contract roles available + Junior to Mid Level DevOps roles + £(Apply online only) per day + Contractors do not need clearance, and will be put through SC Clearance + Minimum 6 month contracts, should be longer term - potential of going permanent + Major UK Systems Integrator + Newcastle based Cloud DevOps Engineers x 7 Working as part of the Cloud DevOps team of experienced Linux technicians, the role involves software packaging and application integration, close collaboration with other IT providers / application developers, the build and commission of technical environments, including the development of automated processes, and the integration of those environments with the wider estate. The team has adopted an Agile approach to IT delivery and are specialists with niche skills and are part of a technical capability that has delivered the first Private Cloud to the UK Government and is also responsible for its build, implementation and ongoing support. Skills: This is a junior to mid level role so not all the below are essential: Technical background Predominantly in Unix and Red Hat Linux. Working knowledge and experience in Unix (IBM AIX) or Red Hat Linux and Scripting. Experience in the installation and configuration in a number of the software packages listed: + IBM Websphere Application Server + Weblogic + Websphere MQ + WODM + BPM + JBoss + Informatica + Siebel + SFTP Plus + Axway + Oracle OPA. Excellent technical analytical skills and experience with application integration. Experience in technical automation and tools, including HP CSA, SA, OO as well as Chef, Puppet, Git. Knowledge and experience of RPMS would be highly advantageous. Ability to work in a disciplined environment and to meet challenging deadlines, under pressure. Understanding / previous experience working with Agile Methodologies. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to work unsupervised and with a self start mentality. Must be prepared to work extended support hours and this will include weekend working
