Level 3 Technical Escalations Engineers required - Newbury About the role Technical Service Engineers are primarily responsible for the technical delivery of projects within scope, budget, time and to the satisfaction of the customer. This will be achieved through working with Project Engineers to strict quality processes and recognised implementation methodologies in line with the Pervasive Lifecycle process ensuring future business opportunities are realised. The goal is to ensure the smooth delivery of projects in order to provide maximum performance and availability for the end users. Pervasive Engineers will provide excellence in engineering design, project services and effective support, whilst maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct. What you will do: * Work with the Project Services Team delivering the technical elements of projects to end customers ensuring adherence to the Pervasive project management methodology and security standards as detailed within the Group's Project Lifecycle Process in line with our ISO Certifications and industry best practice * Lead projects technically providing technical guidance, providing an escalation point and taking ownership of project technical issues escalated from engineers within your project team and overseeing these problems to resolution, managing escalations into relevant manufacturers where necessary * Ensure the successful delivery of IT Infrastructure projects within scope, budget and to the satisfaction of our customers. This will be achieved through working to strict quality processes and recognised implementation methodologies ensuring future business opportunities are realised * Translate customer needs into solutions which include: flexibility, availability (up time), business continuity, network management, quality of service, security, migration planning and post implementation support * Produce Statement of Works demonstrating that we understand any customer questions or clarifications by providing responses which are accurate, unambiguous and concise Your experience will include: In-depth experience with in Enterprise Infrastructure, supported by a good grounding in cloud computing, virtualisation, Windows operating system, server/blade technology, storage arrays, backup solutions, networking concepts and associated technologies either as an Engineer or Technical Pre-Sales in another discipline. Cloud based hosting solutions * Resilient virtual infrastructures * High availability and disaster recovery solutions * Blade technologies & IO virtualisation * Storage area networks * System management and monitoring A proven track record in designing solutions with the manufacturers' products and solutions below is highly desirable: * HP Storage 3Par, StoreVirtual, StoreOnce, P2000 * Brocade and HP LAN switches * HP DL, BL and ML servers * HP / Brocade SAN Fabrics * Microsoft OS, Hyper-V, Exchange, SQL, System Centre 2012 * VMware vSphere Product set * Veeam Backup & Replication * Cisco ASA, Checkpoint and Fortinet Firewalls * Aruba and HP wireless products The following knowledge is required within your immediate specialisation but preferably across more than one technology group: * An excellent understanding of the competitive landscape in Enterprise solution space * A thorough understanding of industry best practice design methodology and standards * A proven track record in Infrastructure design, system migration and system documentation * A good understanding of processes involved with installation, configuration and troubleshooting Enterprise server and storage solutions.
