Release and Deployment Manager
Pixel Toys Limited
Based in the heart of Leamington Spa, Pixel Toys have spent over a decade pushing the capabilities of mobile gaming. We have developed multiple award winning titles, including: Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realm War; and we're now excited to be exclusively working on a new game, unlike ANYTHING we've done previously! As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers. We are excited to continue to grow our team and are always on the lookout for highly talented and motivated individuals, who are passionate about gaming and excited to join us on our ambitious journey! The Role: Working alongside our current Release Manager, act as the technical "air traffic controller" for our entire development pipeline! In this critical role you will deeply embed yourself with the engineering and product teams to understand exactly what is being delivered in every release cycle, managing complex code and branch merges to ensure that our client, server, data, and live operations deployments remain predictable, stable, and seamless. As the primary gatekeeper for version control, you will orchestrate merges across multiple development branches to prevent conflicts and regression, keeping a sharp eye on build health and ensuring our main deployment branches remain absolutely stable. You will strategically plan and coordinate with Production to schedule game updates, patches, hotfixes, and live ops content into a flexible, living release calendar that can adapt to both planned and unplanned changes. Through shepherding new features smoothly through the workflow, you will help guide them from initial scope lock all the way through QA approvals, platform submission, and post release care while communicating daily priorities and branch dependencies to the wider game team. On the deployment front, you will be responsible for overseeing storefront operations for both iOS and Android platforms via App Store Connect and the Google Play Developer Console, tracking live client and server rollouts alongside player impacting telemetry to guarantee absolute stability. Technical risks or blockers won't stand in your way. Instead, you will proactively identify and mitigate them, participating actively in critical go/no go decisions before major milestones. If deployment issues arise, you will confidently coordinate rollback or hotfix plans to minimise player impact, subsequently leading postmortems to translate incident learnings into documented, automated, or refined release processes that continuously improve our deployment pipeline. About you: Join Pixel Toys as a seasoned deployment specialist with proven experience as a Release Manager, Deployment Manager, or Technical Project Manager working on live service and free to play mobile games. Possessing a robust technical foundation in version control systems like Git and Perforce, with a sophisticated understanding of complex branching strategies, merge tracking, and dependency management. Your platform expertise features hands on experience with build orchestration and automation tools, CI/CD pipelines, TestFlight, and the direct management of submissions via App Store Connect and the Google Play Developer Console. Beyond your logistical expertise, you are an autonomous self starter with a proactive mindset, capable of confidently diving deep into technical specifications, speaking the same language as our engineering teams, and extracting exactly what is required for each build. You will also be an exceptional cross functional communicator who excels at bridging the gap between highly technical issues and high level business goals, smoothly translating complex merge challenges into clear, actionable risks for producers and product managers alike. What can Pixel Toys offer: At Pixel Toys we are proud of the progressive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment we have created; a place where everyone has the opportunity to be themselves and is welcomed and valued for who they are and what they contribute. We have some fantastic benefits we offer our employees Here are just some of them: Competitive salary, reviewed annually 25 days annual leave, excluding bank holidays Discretionary Bonus Scheme Up to 3 additional long service days (duvet days!) As a forward thinking and innovative studio we are always looking for new technologies and techniques to develop and use in our games and make them even more engaging experiences for our customers. Support API, integration, end to end, accessibility, regression and performance testing activities. Contribute to test management using Testmo and help drive continuous improvements across our quality processes. Use monitoring, observability and production insights to improve platform reliability and customer experience. Champion accessibility, resilience and operational excellence as core engineering principles. Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI assisted testing approaches, where they deliver measurable value. Senior Software Engineer, Android
United States Digital Space LLC
Join us in our mission to transform the way people shop and eat, where impact, innovation and growth drive everything we do. Our Engineering teams tackle complex technical challenges across a global, three-sided marketplace, building and scaling systems that serve millions of customers, riders and partners every day. From real-time logistics to resilient infrastructure and marketplace optimisation, we design, build and operate technology that powers the company's growth at scale. We're looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our SDUI team. In this role, you'll help us build and scale our server-driven UI (SDUI) platform, enabling teams to build a UI once and have it deploy seamlessly to iOS, Android, and Web without redeploying a new app - performantly and consistently. This role is based in our London office with a hybrid setup, typically three days in the office. What You'll Be Doing You'll be joining the SDUI team. We own the Android rendering layer of our server-driven UI platform, and the backend services that drive it, ensuring every consumer surface built on it is fast, correct, and visually indistinguishable from native. Here's what your day-to-day might look like: Drive technical execution by designing, building, and evolving the Android SDUI renderer - and the backend services (Kotlin, Golang, Protobuf) that feed it - to handle complex, real-time UI updates at scale. Lead architectural improvements and code reviews, ensuring the maintainability, visibility, and operational health of the renderer as more teams build on top of it. Partner with cross-functional disciplines (iOS and Web renderer engineers, product and design teams) to plan rollouts, align on platform decisions, and influence the roadmap. Own large-scale initiatives from design to delivery - including the push to bring SDUI motion and interaction quality to native-equivalent, and the ongoing migration off legacy rendering systems. Support the growth of others by mentoring colleagues and taking an active role in our engineering hiring process. What You'll Need to Thrive Our ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in some of these areas and curiosity to grow in others: 5+ years building Android applications at scale, with a deep understanding of Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Backend development experience, specifically with Golang, Kotlin, and Protobuf, and the comfort to move between client and server code as the work demands. Experience building or maintaining a server-driven / declarative UI system, with a keen interest in pushing what's possible with declarative rendering - bonus points if that included Litho or another DSL-based renderer. A product mindset, and the instinct to apply it to how you design platform services for the teams that build on top of them. Demonstrated ownership of technical delivery within cross-functional teams, guiding implementation choices and technical design for a platform other teams build on. Strong communication skills, working across time zones with iOS, Web, and Backend counterparts, plus PMs and multiple product teams. A pride in software craft, with a commitment to writing readable, well-designed, and thoroughly tested mobile code. Bonus points for exposure to Figma-to-code tooling, design-token/theming systems, or accessibility work in mobile rendering. Why Join Us? At the company, you'll do work that matters - solving real problems for a platform that every consumer-facing team builds on. We're renderer engineers, systems thinkers, and platform builders, brought together by a shared drive to make shipping UI changes fast and safe. Working here you can expect to: Solve meaningful problems at real scale - Work on a rendering platform that every consumer surface depends on, used by millions of customers every day. See your impact, fast - Ship, test and improve the renderer quickly in a low-hierarchy, high-ownership environment. Grow through challenge and ownership - Take on big, ambiguous platform problems and accelerate your career with strong support. A culture built for builders - High standards, collaboration, flexible working and continuous learning. Share in the success you help create - Competitive salary and equity options, so you're rewarded for the impact you make. Want a deeper look at how we build? Check out our Tech Blog. We aim to create a fair process that lets your skills shine-our interview typically includes 3-4 stages. Explore our Engineering Interview Guide here to help you feel confident at each stage. Our Global Structure the company is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we're unlocking new possibilities as one global team. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion At the company, we know that a great workplace reflects the world around us and that true diversity and inclusion make us stronger, more creative, and better at what we do. We're committed to fostering an environment where everyone can do their best work and feel they belong. If you have a disability or long-term health condition and need support to apply for one of our roles, or require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, you'll have the opportunity to let us know once you've submitted your application. We'll share details on how to request support so we can ensure you have a fair and equitable experience.
