ZipHQ, Inc.
About Zip Zip is the AI platform for enterprise procurement - built for humans and agents working together. By orchestrating procurement across teams, tools, and suppliers with the help of AI agents, companies can secure the resources they need to innovate faster than ever before. The world's most influential enterprises trust Zip, including T-Mobile, OpenAI, AMD, Mars, Dollar Tree, and more. Together they've saved over $8 billion and processed over $500 billion in spend. Zip's team includes product leaders from Apple, Airbnb, and Meta, as well as former procurement leaders from United Health, Sanofi, MGM Resorts, Discover, and NASA. Backed by Adams Street, Alkeon, BOND, CRV, DST, Tiger Global, and Y Combinator, Zip has raised $371 million, most recently at a $2.2 billion valuation and has been recognized by Forbes Fintech 50, Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies, Inc. Best in Business, and LinkedIn Top Startups. Your Role This is a founding role. You will be the first Enterprise Architect on the ground in EMEA, standing up the function end-to-end: the playbooks, the reference architectures, the technical discovery motion, and the deal patterns that every future EA will inherit. You'll personally engage on our most strategic pursuits across the business - Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 prospects with SAP-dominant landscapes, complex multi-entity structures, and e-invoicing mandates that don't exist in other regions. You'll work directly with the Global SE leader and partner with Sales, Solution Engineering, Product, and Customer Success leaders. What you build here will shape how Zip sells and delivers across Europe for years. Please note this is a hybrid role out of our London office. What you'll do Win the deals that define the region: Act as the senior technical voice on strategic pursuits - leading discovery with customer CTOs, CIOs, and Chief Procurement Officers, and closing the architectural gap between their landscape and Zip. Build the EA function from zero to one: Create the foundational assets - customer system landscape templates, reference architectures, integration capability matrices, security & compliance packets, objection response libraries - and set the bar for how EA shows up in deals. Own the system integration narrative: Lead the technical story on how Zip integrates with SAP (ECC, S/4HANA, Ariba), Oracle, Workday, Netsuite, Coupa, and adjacent systems. You are responsible for translating the customer landscapes into credible integration plans using our proprietary middleware. Navigate EMEA-specific complexity: Guide customers through e-invoicing mandates (Peppol, France Chorus Pro, Italy SDI, Germany's B2B mandate), GDPR, DORA, and multi-entity/multi-currency rollouts. Bridge GTM and Product: Translate customer requirements into clear product inputs. Influence roadmap prioritization with evidence, not opinion. Enable the field: Coach Solution Engineers and Account Executives on technical positioning, objection handling, and executive-level architectural conversations. Qualifications 15+ years in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, pre-sales engineering, or product roles at B2B SaaS, iPaaS, or ERP / system-of-record vendors. Deep domain knowledge: Knowledgeable about the full intake-to-pay lifecycle and how data moves between systems Strong command of the ERP ecosystem: You understand APIs, data models, and integration patterns across SAP(Ariba, S/4HANA, ECC), Oracle, Workday, Coupa, Ivalua, Jaggaer, and others. Hands on fluency with integration architecture and middleware: iPaaS (MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato), REST APIs, event driven patterns, ETL. Proven success selling into or implementing at Fortune 500 / FTSE 100 customers across multiple EMEA geographies. TOGAF/Zachman/IBM Certified along with EA. Track record of owning RFPs, security reviews, and PoCs at enterprise scale. Comfort operating as the senior technical voice in a room with CIOs, CFOs, and CPOs. Nice to have Experience standing up a function, team, or regional practice from the ground up. Working knowledge of EMEA e invoicing mandates and regulatory regimes (GDPR, DORA) Experience at a category defining, high growth SaaS company or Big 4 Consulting Experience. Multilingual - French, German, or Spanish a plus. Perks & Benefits At Zip, we're committed to providing our employees with everything they need to do their best work. Start up equity Health, vision & dental coverage Catered lunches & dinners for in office employees Commuter benefit Team building events & happy hours Unlimited PTO Apple equipment plus home office stipend 5% Employer Pension Contribution Travel This role requires approximately 30% travel across EMEA to meet with strategic prospects, customers, and partners, and to join key industry events. We're looking to hire Zippers and that means hiring people who take ownership, communicate openly, have an underdog mindset, and are excited to increase the pace of innovation for every business in the world. We encourage all candidates to apply even if your experience doesn't exactly match up to our job description. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workspace where everyone (regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and more) feels like they belong. Software Engineer, RL Data
United States Digital Space LLC
About the role This is a senior, foundational role on a new team: you'll make architecture decisions that the rest of the team builds on and help shape what we build first. The work is hands on and varied. Some weeks you'll be deep in pipeline or infrastructure engineering; others you'll be tuning prompts until the output is good or sitting with a research team that depends on your systems and shipping the fixes they need. We are looking for experienced engineers who own outcomes end to end - down to reading transcripts, supporting users, and wrangling vendors. The company's RL Data team builds the systems that produce high quality reinforcement learning data for Claude: data collection pipelines, human feedback tooling, the execution environments RL tasks run in, and the quality assurance that keeps training data trustworthy at scale. Our goal is to make Claude great at real work - especially the work that matters most, like AI safety research and beneficial deployments of AI. (To be upfront: this is dual use work - it advances general capabilities too.) Key responsibilities Own significant parts of our stack end to end, from technical architecture through the unglamorous operational work that makes it succeed. Build data collection pipelines, read the transcripts they produce, and iterate on prompts, evals, and graders until the output is good. Develop and improve QA frameworks to catch reward hacking and ensure environment quality. Build interfaces that make collecting human data fast and painless for the people providing it. Harden execution environments - sandboxing, snapshotting, tool coverage - so tasks hold up at training scale. Embed with the teams and domain experts who use our systems day to day, and work with operations, security, and compliance partners to roll our systems out to new users and vendors. Minimum qualifications A track record of owning major projects end to end in fast paced, ambiguous environments - for example as a founder or CTO, forward deployed engineer, tech lead, founding engineer at a startup, or creator of a substantial open source project. Trusted to run key projects: you lead and inspire others, plan workstreams effectively, collaborate with cross functional stakeholders, and proactively eliminate or escalate blockers. Strong software engineering skills in at least one modern programming language - we mostly use Python and TypeScript, but care more about quickly picking up new tools than knowing our exact stack. Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and common cloud infrastructure is a plus. Effective use of AI tools in your own day to day work. Care about the societal impacts of your work. Preferred qualifications Experience with reinforcement learning on LLMs, particularly on the data side: creating evals, environments, rewards, graders, or training data. Experience helping organizations use AI more effectively, including integrating with third party tools via APIs, CLIs, and MCP servers. Strong data engineering skills: pipelines that handle large volumes reliably in production, LLM powered enrichment steps, and a focus on improving data quality. Experience shipping user facing products or internal platforms people love: interviewing users, hunting down friction, measurably improving the experience. Basic familiarity with AI safety or security research. Representative projects Take a data collection pipeline from research prototype to a production service that serves many research teams - collection, human validation, grading, and everything in between. Own the program of developing sandboxed execution environments realistic enough for long horizon, high tool use agentic tasks - and harden them so they behave correctly across millions of rollouts in a frontier training run. Bring a new data source online - from first conversation with a partner organization to data flowing into production training runs - coordinating with product, security, privacy, legal, and infrastructure teams along the way. Own the QA layer that decides which tasks make it into Claude's training: automated checks and expert review flows (a busy domain expert should be able to validate a task in under five minutes) that hold up when a frontier model learns to game them. Cut the time from 'rough task idea' to 'task in a production training run' from days to hours. You'd own the direction: figure out where the bottlenecks actually are, then automate, redesign, or delete the steps in the way. Compensation Annual Salary: $320,000 - $485,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience. Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position. Location based hybrid policy: We expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. Some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas and will make every reasonable effort to obtain a visa if you receive an offer. Benefits Competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space for collaboration.

Founding Systems Architect / Engineer
Tyten Technologies Limited City Of Westminster, London
We're building TYTEN, bringing AI to the backbone of the $1.5T facilities management industry. Not a "sexy" industry, but the one that keeps the world running: elevators that don't trap people, heating that works in winter, pipes that don't burst on Christmas Eve. This industry is starving for change, and companies are banging down our door, demanding we build faster. Our products help technicians and FM companies by orchestrating help desk operations, creating perfect work orders, and guiding engineers step-by-step with AI to resolve issues faster. At the same time, it's not just about efficiency, it's about people like you and me being able to enjoy their homes and workplaces without disruption. We're three founders, fully locked in. For us, it's go big or go home: Vlad: digs until he knows exactly what's broken on the client's side, then fights like hell to make sure we have the resources to fix it. Serge: lives in the infra trenches, fighting code and chaos at 4am. Tom: commercial bloodhound, already pulling in contracts while the ink on our whiteboard is still wet. Now we need a Cracked Architect & Engineer (grit > specific frameworks). Someone who's not here for "another job," but for a shot at impact.

Founding Forward Deployed Engineer (UK)
Dayjobai, Inc
Dayjob - Founding Forward Deployed Engineer Location: United Kingdom (on-site) Company: Dayjob.AI About Dayjob (YC P26) DayJob builds AI agents for short-haul trucking - a $45bn market still run on spreadsheets, phone calls and software from the 1990s. We've just completed Y Combinator, are scaling towards $1M ARR, growing 20% month-on-month, and launching in the US. Our customers include some of the largest waste and recycling operators in the UK and US, and we're backed by leading investors including Paul Graham (Founder of Y Combinator) and Harry Stebbings (Founder of 20VC). If you want to deploy AI inside real operations - and on the ground as we launch new customers - this is the role. Founding Team Fred & George met at the University of Oxford. George (CEO) was Head of Sales at Otta and launched Deliveroo's Grocery division, scaling it to £100M GMV. Fred (CTO) builds products that optimise complex supply chains using AI and advanced analytics. The Role: Forward Deployed Engineer This is a rare opportunity to be our first FDE on the ground, sitting at the front line of every customer deployment. You'll work directly with the founders, the sales team, and our customers to get fleets live on Dayjob: integrating their existing systems, tuning the optimization model so plans hold up against reality, and feeding what you learn back into the product. This is not a back-office engineering role - you'll be where the software meets the operation, owning the technical success of our UK customers end-to-end. What You'll Work On Owning the optimisation model settings for our customers - speed factors, service times, depot and tip times, zones, vehicle types, and time-window constraints - and validating them against real GPS and job-completion data. Supporting sales by setting up and tuning the model for demos, trials, and proofs of concept, so prospects see plans that reflect how their fleet really runs. Integrating customers' legacy ERP, job-management systems and vehicle telematics with Dayjob, on-site - mapping data, designing the flows, and building the connections. Acting as first-line technical support for your customers during go-live: triaging issues, diagnosing whether the problem is data, settings, or platform, and escalating cleanly to engineering. Gathering customer requirements and translating them into clear input for product and engineering. Writing SQL and building reports (e.g. in Metabase) on fleet performance, jobs-per-hour, utilisation, and plan quality. Who You Are We're looking for a strong technical generalist who is happy being the person a customer relies on, in messy real-world environments. You likely have: 3+ years in a technical, customer-facing role (forward deployed / solutions / integration / implementation engineering or similar). Strong SQL - you can write your own queries against a non-trivial schema and read the results critically. Experience integrating systems, ideally including legacy or ERP-style platforms with imperfect data (APIs, file-based pipelines, data mapping). Comfort working with messy operational data and edge-case-heavy workflows. Clear communication with non-technical operators, and a willingness to travel to US customer sites. An ownership mindset - you diagnose root causes, follow through, and keep customers unblocked. Bonus If You've Worked On Contributing to a production codebase where it helps a deployment land. Internal tooling and back-office apps (e.g. Retool) - this role can grow into owning the customer-specific tooling we build. Logistics, fleet management, routing/VRP, or the waste and recycling sector. Optimisation- or scheduling-adjacent products, and a sense of what makes a plan good or bad. What We Offer Competitive salary Meaningful equity 25 days holiday + your birthday off Moorgate office 4 days a week Learning & development budget A foundational role shaping how Dayjob scales Application Process Intro call with the team (30 mins) Technical interview (60 mins) Final round (30 mins)

Arctal
Full-time, in-office - Old Street, London. Competitive + meaningful equity 3-5 years experience The company Arctal builds structured datasets from unstructured financial documents-100,000+ PDFs (fund reports, regulatory filings, investor letters) turned into clean, queryable data that institutional buyers use for decision-making. AI agents do the reading. We build the agents. Team of 5, output of 50. A dataset is not a fact. It's a representation of reality that someone chose to stand behind. The value is in that judgement-in making the representation trustworthy and maintaining that promise over time. AI agents do the extraction and structuring. They cannot be the ones standing behind it. Our customers are asset managers, allocators, and financial data firms who need reliable data extracted from documents that were never meant to be machine-readable. The role You'll own data wrangling end-to-end. Ingestion, cleanup, storage, transformation, distribution. At Arctal, every person is building themselves out of their current role-automating the task they did yesterday so they can take on the harder problem tomorrow. This isn't a feature of being early-stage. It's the model. Data Pipeline Architecture. Build the infrastructure that turns 100,000+ unstructured PDFs into constantly updating datasets. Own architecture decisions, pipeline reliability, data quality, delivery format. Design systems that scale with AI agents doing the heavy lifting. AI Agent Integration. Work with existing AI agents and build new ones. Push the boundaries of what's possible with agentic tooling. Figure out how to get agents to do the work reliably, at scale. Data Quality & Delivery. Care deeply about data quality-the datasets we build inform decisions that move millions of dollars. A missing data point isn't trivial. An anomaly isn't something to gloss over. Ship great data as a product. If something breaks at 2am, it's yours. If something ships to a client faster than anyone expected, also yours. You The builder-operator. You don't see a line between building the system and understanding the business. You can architect a pipeline and explain to a client why the methodology matters. 3-5 years building data pipelines or ML systems. You've shipped in a small team (2-30 people) and know what it means when there's no one to hand things off to. The AI-native engineer. You use Claude Code or Cursor daily as your base infrastructure. You've been deep in the agentic tooling ecosystem-building, testing what breaks, pushing boundaries. Your first instinct facing a new problem is to design a system that solves it autonomously. The data quality obsessive. You care about data quality in a "this inconsistency is going to bother me until I fix it" way. You're persistent, thorough, and you've done this before. What matters: Python, Postgres, SQLite, async, queues, web scraping, LLMs in production. You think end-to-end, from raw input to reliable output. You care about the outcome for the user, not the elegance of the system. You don't wait for tickets-you drive your own projects. You experience genuine satisfaction in automating yourself out of work, because it means you get to take on the harder problem behind it. What this isn't A role where you inherit a working system (you'll build it) A role with clear handoffs (you own the whole function) A 9-to-5 (intensity is high, learning is faster) Founders Aleksi (CEO) - Cambridge engineering + ML. Co-founded Secondmind, founding team at Sylvera. Previously worked on ML with Carl Rasmussen at Cambridge. Krista (CCO) - Former Head of Market Intelligence at Climate Bonds Initiative. Deep sustainable finance and capital markets expertise. Small team that ships fast. No layers, no politics-just building. What you get Competitive salary + meaningful equity. Old Street office, 2 min from the station. Full ownership of the data function from day one. A team that ships fast and doesn't do meetings for the sake of meetings. CTO trajectory for the right person. Or the fastest education in data infrastructure and AI agents you'll find.

Senior Data Engineer
慨正橡扯 Wallingford, Oxfordshire
Dexory is building its first company-wide data capability, and this is its founding hire. You will build and own the data foundation that brings our various sources together, model them into clean and trustworthy tables, and define the metrics and business concepts so that how we are doing means the same thing to everyone, and so that AI can query our data safely. The first and most important outcome is a reliable, queryable view of customer and site performance against contracted SLAs and KPIs. From that same foundation, you will go on to serve the rest of the business: deployment and billing readiness, finance, product usage and operational efficiency. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who is data- and AI-automation savvy, can make the big architectural calls and still ship, and can navigate the genuinely hard part: getting the business to agree on what a site, a customer, or a deployment actually is. You will be a team of one to begin with, setting the standards, proving value quickly with early wins, and shaping the function and team we build around you, with a clear path to lead it. This will involve a minimum of 2 days a week onsite at our Wallingford facility. Responsibilities Build the data foundation, bringing operational, product, commercial and contractual data into a single queryable layer, and decide the architecture and system of record for our core concepts: customer, site, deployment and contract Embed Dexory's data security requirements into all foundational architecture and engineering work, ensuring security is a core design principle rather than an afterthought. Make customer and site performance answerable on demand by modelling perception accuracy, scan and mission performance, obstructions and scan coverage, connectivity and other operational signals against the SLAs and KPIs we have committed to per site. Define the metrics and business definitions with each team so that key terms are consistent and the data is trustworthy. Establish the metrics bible that controls the lens through which AI and reporting interpret our data. You facilitate and codify these definitions rather than owning every one alone. Use AI automation to join the dots between systems and to make data genuinely self-serve: connectors and pipelines where needed, and a trustworthy natural-language and query layer so teams get correct, context-aware answers instead of raw-data guesses. Partner with the engineering teams, platform, autonomy and perception, to have them expose source data cleanly, rather than building every pipeline yourself. Your focus is on what the data means and how it fits together. Own the ongoing health of the foundation: monitor pipelines, fix what breaks when sources change, and protect the trust that makes this the company's source of truth. Make pragmatic build-versus-buy decisions, set the engineering standards for the future team, and deliver early, visible wins within the first few months. Help define, recruit and mentor the team as the function grows. Required Qualifications Significant experience as a senior data or analytics engineer, comfortable owning architecture and making source-of-truth decisions independently. Strong hands-on data skills: fluent SQL, solid data modelling, and a modern data stack. We are building on Databricks, so experience there or with an equivalent lakehouse or warehouse, plus a transformation framework such as dbt and strong Python, is what we are looking for. Demonstrated fluency with AI automation tooling: using LLMs and agents to integrate systems, accelerate delivery and expose data for natural-language querying, with the judgement to control context so the answers stay trustworthy. We want evidence of what you have built, not familiarity with the buzzwords. A proven track record in integrating multiple operational and commercial or SaaS systems. For us, that landscape includes Databricks, HubSpot, product analytics via Pendo, fleet and robot telemetry via Grafana, deployment tooling and contractual data. The communication and facilitation skills to align non-technical stakeholders on shared definitions and ownership, and the patience to navigate genuinely contentious questions about what our core concepts mean. This matters as much as the technical skill. Experience with data quality and, ideally, deduplication or entity resolution concepts, so information stays consistent everywhere it is used. A self-starter who thrives as the first or sole engineer in a fast-moving scale-up and wants to grow into leading the function. Benefits Starting from the interview process and continuing into your career with us, you will be working by our four Operating Principles: Performance: High standards, outstanding results, Impact: Big challenges, bigger results Commitment: All in, every time One team: One mission, shared success Joining our team and company isn't just about expertise; it's about embracing uncertainty with ambition. We're crafting world-changing solutions, fueled by a passion to redefine what's possible. Senior AI Engineer, Edinburgh
Socket.dev Edinburgh, Midlothian
Multiverse is the upskilling platform for AI and Tech adoption. We have partnered with 1,500+ companies to deliver a new kind of learning that's transforming today's workforce. Our upskilling apprenticeships are designed for people of any age and career stage to build critical AI, data, and tech skills. Our learners have driven $2bn+ ROI for their employers, using the skills they've learned to improve productivity and measurable performance. In June 2022, we announced a $220 million Series D funding round co-led by StepStone Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners and General Catalyst. With a post-money valuation of $1.7bn, the round makes us the UK's first EdTech unicorn. But we aren't stopping there. With a strong operational footprint and 800+ employees, we have ambitious plans to continue scaling. We're building a world where tech skills unlock people's potential and output. Join Multiverse and power our mission to equip the workforce to win in the AI era. The Opportunity Multiverse is the UK's largest apprenticeship provider and its first EdTech unicorn. The current state of AI presents a huge opportunity to reshape the future of education and workforce development - and Multiverse is in a uniquely strong position to do that. Getting it right has implications beyond the company: for the UK tech sector and the broader economy. The Scotland hub exists to make that real. A new engineering team with the mandate to build AI-native products, help modernise the existing platform, and set the practices that make Multiverse an AI-first company. Multiverse has built an environment where AI-native ways of working collapse the old boundaries, so one person can own the whole arc from idea to live product. As an AI Engineer at P6, you're a specialist and a core builder. You're the go-to person for your product domain - someone who can take a hard problem, make the right design calls within it, and ship something that works for real users. You won't be waiting for the work to be broken down for you. You'll work in a small, focused squad led by a Principal engineer, with full ownership of your slice of the system from design through to production. What You'll Do Own and deliver agent features end-to-end. Take a product problem - a coaching workflow, a content pipeline, a retrieval system - and build the agent feature that solves it. Architecture within your domain, implementation, evaluation, and production operation. You are responsible for it working, not just for your code compiling. Design context and retrieval strategies. Decide what goes into the context window and what stays out. Build retrieval pipelines, conversation memory, and summarisation logic that makes context useful rather than noisy. Understand the cost and quality trade-offs at every layer. Build and maintain evaluation frameworks. Define the metrics that tell the team whether its AI systems are doing what they should. Build automated eval pipelines and human-in-the-loop review processes. Treat evaluation as an engineering discipline, not an afterthought. Design tool integrations. Agents are only as capable as the systems they can reach. Build the tool layer: MCPs, APIs, data contracts, and the error handling that makes tool use reliable across the systems your agents interact with. Shape technical direction within your domain. You have strong opinions about how things should be built and you back them up. Contribute to design reviews, push back when the approach is wrong, and propose better paths. Your technical judgement shapes what gets built and how within your squad. Raise the bar through review and pairing. Review code with rigour and give feedback that makes engineers better. Pair with less experienced colleagues on hard problems and help set the standard for production-quality AI engineering on the team. What We're Looking For Production AI Engineering You've shipped AI-powered features to real users. You understand what separates a prototype from a production system: context quality, model selection trade-offs, token economics, reliable tool use, and evaluation that runs before you ship. You don't need multi-agent architecture at this level, but you build the systems that sit inside one. Depth in Your Domain You're a subject matter expert in at least one area of the AI engineering stack - retrieval, context management, evaluation, tool design, or backend systems that support agents. You can demystify that area for the team and make better decisions within it than most. Full-Stack Delivery You work across the stack - LLM integration, backend services, data pipelines, and enough frontend to ship end-to-end. You build with Claude Code daily, set context before generating, and review output critically. AI-native development is how you work, not a shortcut you reach for occasionally. Product Instinct You ask "what problem are we solving and for whom?" before "what framework should we use?" You talk to users, understand their workflows, and make calls about what's worth building without waiting for a spec. What Would Set You Apart Experience building AI systems in EdTech, regulated content, or domains where output quality has compliance or accreditation implications Background as a founding or early-stage engineer at a startup Experience with multi-agent coordination: task decomposition, handoff, and shared state Practical experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or equivalent agent integration standards Published thinking or external contributions in AI engineering - talks, writing, open source Benefits Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year Health & Wellness- private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill - all in one mental health support Hybrid work offering - for most roles we collaborate in the office three days per week with the exception of Coaches and Instructors who collaborate in the office once a month Work-from-anywhere scheme - you'll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year Space to connect: Beyond the desk, we make time for weekly catch-ups, seasonal celebrations, and have a kitchen that's always stocked! Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion We're an equal opportunities employer. And proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. We expect all employees to share this commitment and adhere to our Safeguarding Policy, our Prevent Policy and all other Multiverse company policies. Successful applicants will be required to undertake at least a Basic check via the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS). For roles that will involve a Regulated Activity, successful applicants must also undergo an Enhanced DBS check, including a Children's Barred List check and a Prohibition Order check. Roles involving Regulated Activity may interact with vulnerable groups, therefore are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 meaning applicants are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings. Providing false information is an offence and could result in the application being rejected or summary dismissal if the applicant has been selected, and possible referral to the police and the DBS.

As Principal AI Engineer, this is a deeply technical role. You'll be the person other engineers turn to when the hard problems land - the one who navigates architectural ambiguity, makes high-stakes design decisions, and holds the bar on engineering quality across everything we build with AI. You ship code alongside the team; this is a hands-on building role, not an advisory position. What You'll Do Own the AI agent architecture. Design the orchestration layer, memory and context management, evaluation framework, and integration APIs that all agent products build on. Your decisions are the ones others build on top of. Ship production agents. You write and review code and own what goes to production. You'll personally deliver at least one major agent system in your first six months. Set the engineering standard. Define how Multiverse builds with AI - evaluation methodology, multi-agent coordination patterns, tool design, guardrails, and observability. You author the decision records and hold the bar. Build the integration layer. Create the APIs, MCPs, and shared data contracts that connect agents to Multiverse's platform, content systems, and internal tools - working closely with London engineering teams who own those systems today. Drive technical strategy. Translate product and business goals into a coherent AI engineering roadmap. Shape which problems we tackle, in what order, and why - then socialise it with engineering leadership and the exec team. Raise the bar around you. You're not a line manager, but your presence makes the engineers you work with measurably better. Code review, pairing on hard problems, setting the standard for what 'good' looks like in AI-native engineering. What We're Looking For Production AI Agent Engineering You've shipped multi-agent systems to real users. You understand context management, model selection and routing, cost engineering (token economics, caching, prompt optimisation), tool use and failure handling, multi-agent coordination, and evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic systems. This is depth, not familiarity. Technical Strategy and Influence at Scale You've set technical direction across multiple teams, not just within a single squad. You translate complex architecture decisions into business-relevant narratives for executive stakeholders. You've defined engineering standards that were adopted organisation-wide - not just recommended, but embedded. Full-Stack Delivery You work across the stack - LLM integration, backend services, data pipelines, and enough frontend to ship end-to-end. You build with Claude Code daily, critically review AI output, and augment your tools with context and constraints to make them effective. Product Instinct You don't wait to be handed a roadmap. You identify which problems are worth solving, in what order, and why - and you make the case for building before anyone asks you to. What Would Set You Apart Background as a founding engineer or technical co-founder Experience in EdTech, regulated content, or domains where AI output quality has compliance implications Published thinking or external contributions in AI engineering - talks, writing, open source Practical experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) or equivalent agent integration standards Benefits Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year Health & Wellness- private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill - all in one mental health support Hybrid work offering - for most roles we collaborate in the office three days per week with the exception of Coaches and Instructors who collaborate in the office once a month Work-from-anywhere scheme - you'll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year Space to connect: Beyond the desk, we make time for weekly catch-ups, seasonal celebrations, and have a kitchen that's always stocked! This will never change. Read our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion policy here. Our Commitment to Safeguarding Multiverse is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our learners. Founding Enterprise Architect
Zip
We look forward to hearing from you!
