What You'll Be Doing Designing and developing scalable backend services and APIs Building integrations with enterprise systems, data platforms and third-party applications Making architectural decisions around backend services and data flows Implementing event-driven and real-time integration patterns where appropriate Writing clean, maintainable, well-tested code using modern engineering practices Improving CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and platform observability Working closely with engineers, product specialists, project managers and customer stakeholders Mentoring developers and helping raise engineering standards across the team About You You'll ideally have experience in: Strong backend development experience using Java (or another modern backend language with the ability to transition) Designing RESTful APIs and distributed backend systems SQL databases and data modelling System integration and enterprise application development Event-driven architectures and messaging technologies CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and modern development practices Making sound technical decisions and working through ambiguous requirements Mentoring engineers and leading technical delivery You'll be someone who enjoys solving difficult engineering problems, communicates well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and takes pride in delivering high-quality software.
