Severn Trent Water
Moonshot Lead
Severn Trent Water Coventry, Warwickshire
Our purpose is taking care of life's essentials, but we're also big on making a difference, not just because we should but because we care. AMP8, our next five-year regulatory period, will see us launch our biggest and most complex investment programme of almost £13bn, of which £6bn will be delivered through our capital programme. This is more than double the size of the AMP7 capital programme and is an opportunity to drive real change. As part of that transformation, we're building new capabilities that will help us deliver smarter, faster and more effectively than ever before. One of the boldest is our Capital Delivery AI Transformation Team - a high-profile team created to help unlock major value across AMP8 and AMP9, with an ambition to deliver around £0.5bn of value across the programme. This team exists to challenge how things have always been done. It brings together agile thinking, emerging technology and practical delivery to create solutions that remove waste, improve speed and unlock better outcomes across capital delivery. Within that team sits our Moonshot Pod - the space where we think bigger, test what's possible and reimagine the future of delivery. This is not about small change. This is about redefining Severn Trent's capital delivery gate process into an AI-first, human in the loop operating model, and shaping the platform vision that could create £100m+ of value in AMP9. It could be one of the biggest challenges of your career. If you want to do more because you care, we'd love to talk to you. We are looking for a Moonshot Lead to join our Capital Delivery AI Transformation Team, helping redefine the future of delivery. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW Are you excited by emerging AI and what it could mean for the future of infrastructure delivery? Do you thrive in ambiguity, love shaping new ideas, and know how to turn innovation into something practical, valuable and investable? As our Moonshot Lead, you'll own the most ambitious and forward looking initiatives in the team. You'll lead the development of our AMP9 AI Platform vision, exploring how we can connect people, process and data across disciplines to transform the way capital projects are planned and delivered. This role will sit at the intersection of strategy, innovation, experimentation and influence. You'll be leading research and proof of concept activity across technologies such as agentic AI, digital twins and advanced AI platforms, helping us understand where the biggest opportunities are and how to safely bring them into the business. RESPONSIBILITIES Own the Moonshot roadmap and shape the long term AMP9 single platform delivery vision. Reimagine the capital delivery gate process around an AI first, human in the loop model. Lead horizon scanning, research and proof of concept activity on emerging AI technologies, platforms and future capability. Explore opportunities across areas such as agentic systems, digital twins and advanced AI enabled workflows. Turn bold ideas into structured experiments, using clear prioritisation, MoSCoW analysis and defined pathways to MVP. Develop business cases for high potential transformation opportunities and support the case for investment. Build and manage partnerships with start ups, academia and technology vendors, bringing external innovation into the business safely and credibly. Influence senior leaders and engage effectively with the transformation steering committee and wider stakeholders. Establish robust baselines and active tracking to demonstrate moonshot value realisation and measurable business impact. Work collaboratively across Data Platform, Cyber Security, Technology, PMO, GenAI and Digital teams to ensure ideas are practical, secure and scalable. Create momentum around innovation, helping the organisation think differently about how delivery can work in the future. WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE Of course, it's important that we attract the right skill sets, and those with the right experience, but we value character, positivity and a caring attitude in equal weight. We want people who show up and roll their sleeves up. Restless spirits who are ready to be part of something bigger, who care, who really care because when you really care, you'll go above and beyond. When you really care you don't just talk about it, you do more. A degree (ideally postgraduate) in a STEM, AI or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience. A deep understanding of emerging AI / machine learning trends and platform architecture. Experience leading R&D, innovation programmes or 0-to-1 product initiatives. Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to create roadmaps, shape vision and build compelling business cases. Proven experience building and managing partnerships with start ups, academia or technology vendors. Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage and challenge at senior stakeholder level. The ability to work comfortably in ambiguity and manage a portfolio of high risk, high reward opportunities. A mindset that balances innovation with pragmatism, helping ideas move from concept into something structured, testable and valuable. And it would be great if you also had: Knowledge of data platforms, digital twins or agentic AI at scale. Experience working in capital projects, infrastructure or utilities. Experience partnering with academic institutions or innovation ecosystems. We welcome people from all walks of life and celebrate individuality as we know diverse minds, experiences and backgrounds help us to learn and better serve our communities. We employ thousands of people from across our community who really care about what they do. Because that is how we do what we do. Senior Software Engineer (Growth)
jobr.pro City Of Westminster, London
The Opportunity It's an incredible time to join the Engineering team at Multiverse, the UK's first edtech unicorn, as we equip the workforce to win in an AI era. You have a real opportunity to impact the lives of thousands of people - not by picking up tickets, but by building the engine that gets more people into transformative learning, faster. The Mission Multiverse is reshaping the future of workforce development. Growth at Multiverse is a product problem, not a marketing problem - and increasingly the answers to those problems run through AI. You will join a domain team, gain deep knowledge of our products, and play a central role in delivering scalable, user-focused learner experiences across the platform. The Product Our platform now serves tens of thousands of learners, and demand for AI skills is accelerating. You won't be handed a spec - you'll be in discovery, shaping what we build and why. Every feature you ship connects directly to a learner outcome, and you'll be expected to own that connection from design through to deployment. The Team You will be joining a high growth, high impact cross functional tribe spanning product, engineering, design, and AI innovation. We foster a culture of engineering craft, structured experimentation, and rapid innovation. We value engineers who are comfortable swimming in the deep end, who care deeply about the intersection of AI and user experience, and who are excited to solve complex scaling challenges. The Challenge You will tackle bold problems to drive our scaling efforts: Activate Learners: Build AI driven onboarding flows that adapt in real time to what a learner already knows, how they prefer to engage, and where they need support. Drive Engagement: Partner with AI Engineers to develop personalised learning experiences that adapt to individual pace, context, and need. Scale Systems: Operationalise AI generated content at scale across our end to end messaging systems - defining the guardrails that ensure output feels relevant and human. Ship Code: Deliver high quality architecture and write production code across our core stack: AWS, React, and TypeScript. AI Fluency This role sits at the intersection of AI and product. We don't treat AI as an add on or an experiment - it is our engine. We expect you to be a practitioner: You use AI assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini) as a natural part of your daily workflow - to accelerate velocity, raise code quality, and explore solution space faster. You evaluate AI output critically. You know when to trust it, when to push back, and how to iterate toward something production worthy. You've worked with LLM APIs or agentic frameworks in a real product context and understand their failure modes - hallucination, latency, cost, and user trust. You bring a product builder's instinct to AI features: you're asking "does this actually help the user?" not just "does this technically work?" Your Impact As a Senior Software Engineer, your mastery drives direct business outcomes. We expect you to: Execute as an Owner: Independently lead initiatives from design to deployment. Avoid over or under building - arrive at implementations that solve the problem, deliver customer value, and scale. Elevate Technical Excellence: Zero tolerance for user issues. Launch bug free systems with proactive monitoring and instrumentation built in from day one. Scale Simplicity: Identify and manage technical debt, leaving the codebase cleaner than you found it. Understand a problem with multiple solutions, consider trade offs, and settle on the most suitable design before building. Multiply Your Team: Help less experienced engineers grow through mentoring, pairing, and code reviews. Proactively unblock peers. Embrace High Agency: Thrive in our re teaming environment - collaborate across functions, adapt to shifting priorities, and bring an owner's mindset to ambiguous challenges. Communicate Clearly: Inspire confidence when presenting complex technical concepts to both technical and non technical stakeholders. Take Initiative: Pull up a chair in discovery. Work alongside product and design to shape the problem before the solution is fixed. Name bottlenecks early and act on them. Stay Metric Obsessed: Track and understand product and engineering metrics alike - and always connect them to the business result they ladder up to. Grow Continuously: Treat setbacks as a signal, not a failure. Make calls without perfect data, change direction when new information arrives, and see the current state as a starting point. Operating Principles in Action We evaluate and drive performance through our BAM framework (Behaviours, Achievement, Mastery): Solve for Customer Value: Every decision starts with: "How does this create value for our paying customers?" Prioritise work that directly benefits the learner over internal convenience or habit. Drivers, Not Passengers: Own outcomes. Don't wait for permission to fix a problem - lead the solution, take others with you. Be Decisive, Even in Ambiguity: Launch imperfect solutions, test, learn, and course correct quickly. Don't let fear of the wrong call stall progress. AI to Deliver Outcomes: AI is your co author, not a shortcut. Use it to go faster and build better - but direct it deliberately, challenge its output, and hold the quality bar. Interview Process Initial Screen: A brief conversation about your background, achievements, and impact. AI Assisted Technical: A coding and system design exercise where you use AI tools to build. We assess how you direct, evaluate, and iterate on AI output - not just whether you can use it. We then deep dive into your technical mastery and architectural thinking. Architecture & Behaviours: How you live our Operating Principles - ownership, decisiveness, and how you bring others along. Benefits Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company wide wellbeing days (M Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year. Health & Wellness - private medical insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill - all in one mental health support. Hybrid work offering - for most roles we collaborate in the office three days per week with the exception of Coaches and Instructors who collaborate in the office once a month. Work from anywhere scheme - you'll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year. Space to connect: Beyond the desk, we make time for weekly catch ups, seasonal celebrations, and have a kitchen that's always stocked! Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion We're an equal opportunities employer. And proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. This will never change. Read our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion policy here. Our Commitment to Safeguarding Multiverse is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our learners. We expect all employees to share this commitment and adhere to our Safeguarding Policy, our Prevent Policy and all other Multiverse company policies. Successful applicants will be required to undertake at least a Basic check via the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS). For roles that will involve a Regulated Activity, successful applicants must also undergo an Enhanced DBS check, including a Children's Barred List check and a Prohibition Order check. Roles involving Regulated Activity may interact with vulnerable groups, therefore are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 meaning applicants are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings. Providing false information is an offence and could result in the application being rejected or summary dismissal if the applicant has been selected, and possible referral to the police and the DBS.

Staff Platform Engineer
Hyperexponential
About hyperexponential (hx) At hyperexponential, we're building the AI-powered platform that enables the world's most critical decisions in a £7 trillion industry, which risks to take, and how to price them. These are the decisions that shape real-world outcomes: whether rockets successfully launch into space, autonomous vehicles make it to market, or communities recover after major storms. Until now, insurance has been making billion-pound decisions using outdated tools. We're changing that. Our platform brings together data, AI, and human expertise to give insurers the fastest path from submission to decision - helping them move faster, act smarter, and take on more risk with confidence. Backed by a16z, Highland Europe, and Battery Ventures, we're scaling globally - already trusted by nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers, with zero churn and billions in premiums flowing through hx. What began as a single product in one market has rapidly evolved into a multi-product, multi-territory platform powering every stage of pricing and underwriting. AI is at the core of what we do - from building the world's first domain-specific AI peer programmer for insurance (think GitHub Copilot with a PhD in actuarial science) to shaping agentic workflows that reinvent how this industry operates. What makes hx different is the people who build it. Here, impact isn't tied to title or tenure; it's defined by the challenges you take on and the discipline you bring. Surrounded by peers who stretch you, you'll do the best, hardest work of your life in a company engineered to endure. If that sounds like you, join us in building what comes next. About the Platform team Platform at hx builds the foundation that enables engineering teams to ship secure, scalable applications at velocity. We're evolving towards an AI-first platform where self-service infrastructure, intelligent automation, and reusable components compound developer productivity and operational excellence. This isn't about maintaining the status quo; we're reimagining how modern software delivery works. As the Staff Platform Engineer, you will own the technical direction of this evolution. You will define the architecture and engineering standards that others build to, drive coherence across teams, and ensure the platform strategy is aligned to long-term business outcomes. You will shape how AI-first, self-service infrastructure is done at scale, not just by delivering capabilities yourself, but by creating the conditions for engineering teams across the organisation to move faster, more safely, and more autonomously. Check out our Engineering Candidate Hub for a behind the scenes look at the team you would be joining! What you'll be doing Establish a coherent 12-18 month technical direction for the platform, with clearly articulated trade offs, milestones, and alignment across engineering leadership. The roadmap is understood, trusted, and actively referenced by stakeholders. Platform capabilities are adopted broadly across engineering, not because teams are told to use them, but because they are well designed, well documented, and genuinely reduce friction. Measurable reduction in Platform as a bottleneck for common provisioning and deployment tasks. Define the architectural patterns and standards that enable autonomous and AI augmented workflows across the organisation. Other engineers can build AI native capabilities without requiring Platform's direct involvement in every initiative. Platform defined standards for security, reliability, and operational excellence are embedded into how all teams build not enforced through gatekeeping, but adopted because they are the path of least resistance. Measurable reduction in misconfiguration, security exceptions, and operational incidents across the estate. Senior engineers are visibly stronger for having worked alongside you. The team develops better instincts for architecture, trade offs, and platform thinking. You are sought out as a technical authority. What you'll need to have done Defined the architecture, standards, and patterns for the platform domain over a multi quarter horizon. Makes high judgement calls on foundational trade offs such as build vs buy, depth vs breadth, short term pragmatism vs long term coherence and brings the organisation along on those decisions. Navigating disagreement across senior engineers, architects, and stakeholders to reach durable technical decisions. Comfortable holding a position under pressure, updating it when presented with better evidence, and ensuring decisions stick once made. Accountability for outcomes that span multiple teams and that they do not personally deliver. Designs systems, standards, and enablement approaches that multiply the effectiveness of the engineers around them, rather than being the primary hands on contributor to every initiative. Defined how AI and automation are embedded into the platform at an architectural level not just experimenting with tools, but establishing patterns that make AI augmented workflows the default for engineering teams across the organisation. Understanding of the adoption dynamics, internal customer needs, and the systemic barriers to self service. Shapes the platform roadmap based on feedback, usage data, and a clear eyed view of where friction exists and ensures the platform earns its adoption rather than mandating it. Identified architectural, security, and operational risks before they become incidents. Influences how the broader engineering organisation thinks about reliability, security posture, and cost efficiency not just within Platform's direct remit. Connecting platform decisions to business outcomes clearly and credibly. Can represent the platform strategy to senior leadership, translate engineering constraints into business language, and use commercial context to sharpen technical priorities. Actively developing senior engineers through technical challenge, honest feedback, and deliberate exposure to harder problems. Recognised as someone who raises the capability of the team, not just the quality of the code. Models the engineering culture the organisation is trying to build. You're unlikely to thrive here if You prefer executing predefined tasks over taking ownership of ambiguous problems that require exploration, experimentation, and iteration to solve. You view platform engineering as building infrastructure in isolation rather than treating it as a product with internal customers whose adoption and satisfaction drive success. You're uncomfortable with rapid change and continuous improvement, preferring stability and established patterns over evolving practices based on data and feedback. If reading our Culture Document leaves you feeling neutral rather than energised, hx may not be the place where you'll do your best work. We're building something that asks for commitment and conviction, and we want you to feel excited by the opportunity to grow with us. Compensation At hx, we're committed to salary transparency. You'll always have clarity on pay early in the process - our Talent Partner will share details with you during initial conversations - and we're working towards publishing salary information for all roles globally. Because we're building at the intersection of technology/SaaS and insurance, our roles don't always map neatly onto traditional benchmarks. Our approach is to design compensation that's competitive in the market, fair across teams, and aligned with the impact our people make. Equity: We offer equity across all roles at hx, making it a significant component of total compensation. Your Talent Partner will be able to share more details about this. Benefits £5,000 training and conference budget for individual and group development. 25 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays (33 days total). Company pension scheme via Penfold. Mental health support and therapy via Spectrum.life. Individual wellbeing allowance via Juno. Private healthcare insurance through AXA. Income protection and Life Insurance. Cycle to Work Scheme. Additional perks Top-spec equipment (laptop, screens, adjustable desks, etc.). Regular remote and in person hackathons, lunch and learns, socials, and game nights. Team breakfasts and lunches, snacks, drinks fridge, and a fun office at The Ministry. Exceptional opportunities for personal development and growth as we build something remarkable together. Interview process Initial call with our Talent team (30 minutes). Manager Interview (60 minutes). Technical Assessment (system design whiteboard) (120 minutes). Values Interview with Tech Leadership (60 minutes). We offer! Our commitment to Diversity hxers are at the centre of everything we build. We know that progress depends on diverse perspectives, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive, grow, and make an impact. We recognise there is always more to do, and we take responsibility for shaping a workplace that is not only diverse but genuinely inclusive. Diversity is not just the right thing to do, it is key to solving the complex challenges we choose to take on. By welcoming people from all backgrounds and experiences, we strengthen our ability to question assumptions, push boundaries, and design solutions that endure. Senior Software Engineer - Finance Experience
Perk Edinburgh, Midlothian
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Finance Experience team, you'll play a central role in delivering the systems that power seamless, automated expense reconciliation for Perk clients. The team's mission is ambitious: to reconcile 100% of travel expense data for every client through a fully automated, accurate, and effortless accounting experience - eliminating manual effort for finance teams. You'll work across the full stack on features spanning employee reimbursements, expense capture, ERP integrations, supplier invoicing, and integrations with third party expense platforms like Pleo and Ramp. Through close partnership with finance, compliance, and cross functional engineering teams, you'll help ensure that every step in the financial reconciliation journey works seamlessly. Are you a Senior Software Engineer who thrives on real ownership? At Perk, we know that we feel most fulfilled when we can own the problem and the solution. This means taking responsibility for the entire lifecycle of a feature, from understanding customer pains with the product team, design documents, coding to deployment, and measuring impact. You will see how your technical decisions move the needle for our customers daily. We prioritize autonomy and pragmatism, giving you the space to solve complex problems without unnecessary friction. Engineering excellence here is measured by the reliability and simplicity of the systems you build to power a global platform. How we work At Perk, we believe the best work happens when great people come together in small teams, with a shared sense of purpose. You'll join a cross functional squad where you have real ownership of a piece of Perk's domains, a genuine say in what gets built, and the autonomy to make it happen. Each team decides how to contribute to Perk's company goals. We care about impact, and we trust our people to deliver it. AI at Perk AI is embedded in how we work and what we build. On the engineering side, it spans the whole workflow: our Notion, Jira, GitHub and Slack are AI connected so you get up to speed fast, and day to day it helps with specifying features, writing and reviewing code, and automated AI PR review on every pull request. When something goes wrong in production, AI surfaces context across systems quickly. We also embrace agentic coding, using AI as an active collaborator, not just a prompt by prompt co pilot. We expect candidates to use AI tools in our coding interviews. The bar is understanding your code and owning what you produce. That reflects how we work every day. Some examples of what it means to be a Senior at Perk Shape the bigger picture. You won't just build features, you'll refine the what to build and why. At Perk, senior engineers are expected to go beyond the technical solution and focus on the problem itself. You'll contribute to your squad's quarterly goals and long term vision alongside your Product Manager and Engineering Manager. Architect for today and tomorrow. When a big change is needed in how our platform works, you'll write the design documents that lay the foundation. You'll become a guardian of your team's technical quality; spotting areas of investment, proactively managing technical debt, and making sure we don't let busy work crowd out the work that truly matters. At Perk, we believe in impact over effort: our customers see results, not the hours behind them. Your job is to make sure we're always investing our energy where it counts most. Lead across boundaries. Your influence won't stop at your own squad. You'll communicate complex ideas across multiple teams, proactively identify who needs to be involved, and drive alignment across the broader organisation. Whether it's coordinating a cross squad initiative, contributing to one of our engineering guilds (where engineers from different teams align on shared technical topics), or pairing with architects on solution discovery, you'll operate comfortably beyond your immediate team. Raise the bar for everyone around you. Senior engineers at Perk are mentors, coaches, and bar raisers. You'll support less experienced colleagues through direct mentorship, thoughtful feedback during reviews, and by modelling what great engineering looks like in practice. You'll help Engineering Managers understand where the team needs to grow technically, and you'll use spaces like guild meetings, design doc reviews, and pairing sessions to lift the overall standard. At Perk, we are a team, the team's success is your success. Desired skills and experience Product Leadership: Translates complex business goals into technical roadmaps; de risks ambiguous projects through spikes and prototyping. System Architecture: Architects scalable, evolvable systems and data models that account for performance, failure isolation, and long term maintenance. Frontend Strategy: Establishes frontend architecture patterns, including state management, performance budgets, and comprehensive testing (E2E/Cypress). Backend Excellence: Engineers sophisticated backend solutions involving API versioning, caching strategies, and complex data migration plans. Operational Maturity: Leads observability and SRE practices; defines SLOs, manages incident responses, and conducts blameless post mortems. Security & Risk: Oversees operational security, including secrets hygiene and dependency risk management, to ensure a hardened production environment. Mentorship & Influence: Levels up the engineering organization through active mentorship, leading design reviews, and influencing the product roadmap with technical data. Cross Functional Impact: Coordinates multi team deliverables and aligns stakeholders to resolve technical blockers across the organization. AI Driven Development: Experience with-or a strong interest in-modern AI augmented workflows. This includes leveraging agentic workflows, developing custom agentic skills to extend AI capabilities, utilizing AI powered code reviews. Location & Relocation For certain roles, we can help with relocation from anywhere in the world. This role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our hubs. English is the official language at the office. Equal Opportunity Perk is a global company with a diverse customer base, and we want to make sure the people behind our product reflect that. We're an equal opportunity employer, which means you're welcome at Perk regardless of how you look, where you're from, or anything else that makes you, well, you.
