Job ID: Tectre982 Location: Cambridge Salary: £25,000 – £32,000 (Dependent on Experience) Job Description Our client is an expanding company creating software for the engineering industry who have been supporting their clients for over 45 years. They are now seeking a Software Engineer in their Solutions and Technology Platform group to developing their Information Management and cloud software products and solutions. About the role The role provides a good opportunity for an enthusiastic person with a thirst for learning to develop skills in a broad range of technologies, covering the full stack of modern web application development and cloud born technologies. The candidate will be comfortable digging into and understanding low level details and implementation, as well as understanding the business processes and use cases. They should also be able to operate with little supervision. The successful candidate will be working as part of an agile development team which includes testers, product owners, and users. Applicants for the Software Engineer must be able to demonstrate a passion for software development with knowledge of various areas of the SDLC, with skills including: • Ability to develop complex libraries and .NET Frameworks. • Proficiency in multiple programming languages • Knowledge of Web Services. • Proven problem solver Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience include • Object Oriented design and development • JavaScript (Object Oriented), client and server • Single-page application development. • Asynchronous programming • Amazon Web Services, cloud born technologies and server-less architectures • Microsoft development (C#, ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET WebAPI) • Database development (SQL Server, Oracle or NoSQL based databases). • Functional and/or Systems Analysis The role will expose the successful candidate to all elements of the software lifecycle, from requirement elaboration, analysis, design and prototyping, through to coding, unit testing, end to end testing and maintenance. The role will be based at our offices in Cambridge, though occasional overseas travel may be required as the need arises. This may include trips to our European offices as well as India.
