Senior Frontend Software Engineer - Simulation Workbench
Physicsx
Frontend Software Engineer - Simulation Workbench London, United Kingdom About us PhysicsX is a deep-tech company with roots in numerical physics and Formula One, dedicated to accelerating hardware innovation at the speed of software. We are building an AI-driven simulation software stack for engineering and manufacturing across advanced industries. By enabling high-fidelity, multi-physics simulation through AI inference across the entire engineering lifecycle, PhysicsX unlocks new levels of optimization and automation in design, manufacturing, and operations - empowering engineers to push the boundaries of possibility. Our customers include leading innovators in Aerospace & Defense, Materials, Energy, Semiconductors, and Automotive. The Role PhysicsX is developing a platform used by Data Scientists and Simulation Engineers to build, train, and deploy Deep Physics Models. The core of this platform relies on handling massive volumes of complex simulation data, enabling high-fidelity multi-physics simulation through AI inference. We are looking for a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to join our product team. You will be one of a small team of Front-end Engineers, collaborating in a cross-functional team with autonomy to drive implementation decisions. You will build and evolve the frontend that brings our platform to life - from rich 3D visualisations of simulation data to seamless API integrations powering complex ML workflows. You will design composable frontend architectures, optimise performance for data-heavy interfaces, and ensure our engineers and scientists can interact intuitively with massive datasets and simulation results. As a senior engineer, you will also play a key role in shaping technical direction - authoring Technical Decision Records, mentoring less experienced engineers, and driving the standards that keep our platform reliable, secure, and performant. This is a role for a builder who loves crafting exceptional user experiences as much as they love designing robust frontend architectures. What You Will Do Build and evolve a frontend platform that supports complex simulation and ML workflows - from 3D visualisations to seamless API integrations and data-heavy interfaces. Design and implement composable frontend architectures and component systems, including micro-frontend patterns, to enable scalable and maintainable development. Optimise user experience through advanced caching strategies, performance monitoring, layout and paint optimisation, and accessibility best practices. Design and implement advanced state management and data flow patterns to handle the demands of real-time simulation data and complex user interactions. Own your work end-to-end - from architectural design through to deployment and maintenance in a fast-paced, agile environment. Define performance standards and SLAs for the services you own; diagnose and resolve complex performance bottlenecks in rendering, layout, and data handling. Collaborate with backend engineers on the implementation of security risk mitigation strategies and performance optimisations for frontend applications. Drive best practices in CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and infrastructure-as-code; build and maintain deployment pipelines including zero-downtime and multi-service deployments. Author and review Technical Decision Records; participate in Technology Radar reviews to evaluate and adopt new tools and approaches. Mentor junior engineers, facilitate technical discussions, build consensus around decisions, and translate research needs into well-defined technical requirements. What You Bring to the Table A passion for the craft - a drive for engineering excellence and a commitment to sponsoring that culture across the team. Architectural versatility - proven track record building web-based user interfaces using a variety of architectural approaches - SPAs, server-rendered applications, hybrid architectures, micro-frontends - with a critical perspective on when each is the right choice. Experience with React and TypeScript is expected, but your identity is not defined by them. API and data handling maturity - experience designing frontends that integrate with complex backends via REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, and SSE, with attention to caching strategies, data access patterns, and forward compatibility. Reliability and observability mindset - experience defining performance standards and SLAs, implementing monitoring/alerting, and optimising observability in production environments. Security and accessibility awareness - familiarity with OAuth/JWT, XSS/CSRF prevention, WCAG, and ARIA standards; experience collaborating with backend teams on security risk mitigation. CI/CD and deployment expertise - hands-on experience building and optimising CI/CD pipelines (e.g. NX, GitHub Actions, monorepos), including multi-service and zero-downtime deployment strategies. Data visualisation experience - building rich, interactive visualisations using libraries such as Plotly, ECharts, Three.js, VTK, or WebGL to expose complex simulation data to end-users. Diagnostic and optimisation skills - a proactive mindset with the ability to identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks from first principles - in rendering, networking, and data processing - rather than relying on framework-level fixes. Communication and leadership - excellent communication skills to discuss data needs with research scientists and translate them into technical specifications. Experience mentoring engineers and facilitating technical decisions. Ideally 3D and GPU Technologies: deep experience with WebGL, WebGPU, or WebAssembly for high-performance rendering of simulation data, meshes, and point clouds. Advanced Testing Techniques: experience with fuzzing, deterministic simulation testing, or fault injection in production systems; strong foundation in E2E and integration testing across different architectural patterns. Domain Knowledge: understanding of 3D geometry processing (meshes, point clouds) and the specific data structures used in physics-based simulations. What We Offer Equity options - share in our success and growth. 10% employer pension contribution - invest in your future. Free office lunches - great food to fuel your workdays. Flexible working - balance your work and life in a way that works for you. Hybrid setup - enjoy our new Shoreditch office while keeping remote flexibility. Enhanced parental leave - support for life's biggest milestones. Private healthcare - comprehensive coverage. Personal development - access learning and training to help you grow. Work from anywhere - extend your remote setup to enjoy the sun or reconnect with loved ones. We value diversity and are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of sex, race, religion, ethnicity, nationality, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity. We strongly encourage individuals from groups traditionally underrepresented in tech to apply. To help make a change, we sponsor bright women from disadvantaged backgrounds through their university degrees in science and mathematics. Staff Software Engineer Department: Engineering Employment Type: Full Time Location: London Description The Team The Financial Services team enables RVU to help customers make the best decisions around financial products, by helping them identify the right products from our partners across our three main brands Uswitch, and money.co.uk. Our engineering team build the web apps, back office systems and tooling used to deliver the financial products pages across RVU's websites, integrate with our partners, track sales, optimise marketing, and manage business reporting. We are currently growing our offering to small and medium businesses by driving deeper integration with our partners' APIs, improving our customers' experience on our platform, streamlining customer journeys, and ensuring that the business has all the data it needs at its fingertips. Our technology stack is centred around Typescript, React and Node/Bun, running on Kubernetes in AWS. What you'll be doing Joining our team as a Staff Software Engineer, you will be working closely with business leads, commercial managers, ops executives, product managers, data analysts, designers and fellow engineers to solve business problems with software. As a product team a lot of our time is spent on the front end, but you'll be contributing across the full stack from infrastructure, databases, pipelines, servers, CDNs, to web UIs and monitoring and analysing performance. This includes building responsive accessible React components aligned with our design system, working with APIs, using real-time metrics and alerting, interacting with databases, and keeping our applications secure. You will help to identify opportunities for process improvements, conduct code reviews, and ensure solutions are properly tested with a focus on best practices and quality assurance. We're leaning-in to the current AI revolution, having incorporated AI into several of our workflows, and we're actively working on a number of projects with AI at the core. So you'll also be working closely with AI not just as a development tool, but as a business enabler. This includes finding new and better ways to leverage AI to generate lasting value, and evangelising AI adoption across the business. Most importantly, you will be supporting and improving the engineering team's delivery & technical expertise in a continuous learning environment. You'll contribute to defining and maintaining best practices to ensure our software remains robust, scalable and maintainable, using your technical skills to help shape the future of Financial Services within RVU, inspiring and guiding the team along the way. What we're looking for We're looking for a technical expert who will be a multiplier for the team: bringing your own experience and knowledge to enrich the skills and foster the growth of our high performing engineering team. This is a full stack role, so you'll be just as comfortable building cloud-native scalable applications as you are at styling responsive React components. But as a staff engineer you will go beyond just delivering features. You will be empowering the whole team to create robust well-tested software that works everywhere, ensuring attention to detail, but knowing when to pull them back to avoid getting stuck down valueless rabbit holes. You will have experience ranging from building MVPs through to large scale production systems, in each case knowing where to strike the balance between rigour and urgency, comfortable making pragmatic decisions that benefit the business. You will identify friction points and potential improvements and be able to put a business value on them so the team can focus their efforts appropriately to maximise return to the organisation. In addition, it's important that you understand the benefits that AI can bring to a business like ours, so we're also looking for experience developing AI enabled applications and workflows. This includes knowledge around platforms and frameworks (e.g. N8N, Mastra), context engineering, using vector stores, RAG, fine-tuning and evaluation. You will have a growth mindset, always keen to learn and explore, and you like to dig deep to understand how things work. You will be able to debug large and complex systems, not just fixing the problems, but building a fundamental understanding of how the system works to the point where improvements become obvious. You will keep abreast of industry developments: assessing and introducing new libraries, new technologies, new tools and new approaches, in particular leveraging advances in AI technology to the benefit of the team and the business. Other skills required for the role include: Strong Typescript skills, convinced of the benefits of statically typed languages. Deep knowledge of the Node ecosystem (node, npm, yarn), including bundling and dependency management. Familiarity with Bun is also desirable. Proficient with AI tooling including delivering code using CLI or editor-based LLM agents, and using MCP servers Solid understanding of the React paradigm, including one way data binding, declarative programming, rules of hooks, react anti-patterns Practical experience of software engineering principles and managing complexity (e.g. separation of concerns, design patterns, domain driven design) and an appreciation and aspiration to write elegant clean code, understanding that simple often isn't easy. Familiarity with container-based cloud-native applications, and architectural patterns such as REST APIs, message passing, horizontal and vertical scaling and load balancing Knowledge of web security concerns (e.g. SQL injection, XSS, CORS, cookies, authentication/authorisation techniques) Experience with the following is a plus: Kubernetes, Prometheus, Argo workflows, GitHub Actions, Elasticsearch/Opensearch, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, DBT data pipelines, Fastly, Storybook, component libraries and design systems, Builder.io, Bun You don't need to tick off everything on this list - so don't let that hold you back from applying. We want to make sure you're learning plenty during your time with us! Our commitment to you We are dedicated to developing valuable, inclusive, and user-friendly products and services that deliver positive outcomes for all of our customers. To achieve this, it's essential that our teams reflect the diverse range of people in our community. We believe in being the change we wish to see in the world, by embracing our differences and holding ourselves accountable to being open and inclusive teammates and wider community members. What we offer We want to give you a great work environment, support your growth both personally and professionally, and provide benefits that make your time at RVU even more enjoyable. Here are some of the benefits you can look forward to: 10% discretionary yearly bonus and yearly pay reviews (based on RVU and personal performance) A hybrid working approach with 2 in-office days per week and up to 22 working days per year to "work from anywhere" Employer-matching pension contributions up to 7.5% A one-off £300 "work from home" budget to help contribute towards a great work environment at home Excellent maternity, paternity, shared parental, and adoption leave policy, for those key moments in your life 25 days holiday (increasing with years of employment to 30 days) + 2 days "my time" per year Private medical cover, critical illness cover, and employee assistance programme A healthy learning and training budget Electric vehicle and cycle to work schemes Free in-office gym, accessible 7 days a week Free breakfast in the office daily You'll be equipped with great technology (choice of Mac or Windows) Free access to the Calm and Peppy app for physical and mental health Regular events - from team socials to company-wide events with insightful external speakers, we want to make sure our colleagues continue to feel connected.

Senior Frontend Engineer
gendo
Gendo Canvas is a browser-based AI rendering platform for architects and designers that went live earlier this year after previous product iterations were tested across firms including Zaha Hadid Architects, KPF, and David Chipperfield Architects. Today, over 100,000 designers use it to generate more than a million images every month. We're looking for a Senior/Lead Frontend Engineer to take ownership of Gendo Canvas's frontend: a real-time, collaborative canvas application that's closer in spirit to Figma or Miro than a typical SaaS app. It's React (Next.js), with a WebGL canvas at the centre, multiplayer state powered by WebSockets and yjs, and a steady drumbeat of new 2D and 3D features shipping regularly. About Gendo We're a lean, design-led team building what we believe is the most exciting frontend product in architecture today: AI rendering that turns any starting point (a sketch, CAD model, collage, or photo) into a high-quality visual in seconds, inside a collaborative canvas that designers can share with their colleagues and stakeholders. We've raised substantial pre-seed and seed funding from leading investors in the space, and work in close partnership with some of the world's most prestigious architecture firms. Design is at the core of our mission - in our product, in our tools, and in how we work. Gendo is a startup with a fast-growing product, and the role reflects that. There's a lot to build, the bar is high, and the days are full. That's the trade we make for the impact, ownership, and equity that come with being early. It's not the right fit for everyone, and that's completely fair - but if you're energised by hard problems, a team that cares deeply, and work that real designers rely on every single day, you'll thrive here. What you'll work on The canvas is the heart of the product, and it's a real engineering challenge. You'll spend your time on things like: The canvas runtime itself: keeping interaction smooth and robust as users place tens, then hundreds of generations, references, and 3D models on a single board. Multiplayer state: using yjs and WebSockets to keep collaborators in sync, with rock-solid undo/redo, presence, and conflict resolution. AI generation flow: async generation, streaming previews, optimistic UI, and surfacing useful feedback when a render takes a few seconds or much longer. 2D and 3D primitives: building the canvas's interaction model around images, masks, and manipulable 3D models, using react-three-fiber. The design system and visual language: working closely with our designer to ship features that feel as considered as the firms our customers work at. You'll work directly with our founders and a small team of engineers and designers. We're small enough that you'll have a real say in the architecture and meaningful ownership of what we build. We'd love to hear from you if you have Extensive production experience with React (including Next.js): you've shipped complex, performant applications and have strong opinions about frontend architecture. Strong state management chops: comfortable with the trade-offs between Zustand, MobX, Redux, and friends, and able to manage genuinely complex client state. Experience with real-time collaboration: WebSockets for sure; yjs (or another CRDT) is a strong plus. Working knowledge of three.js / WebGL: ideally via react-three-fiber. Doesn't need to be your primary skill, but you should be comfortable in the territory or excited to live there. A strong eye for design and product: you can fill in gaps when wireframes aren't there, push back when something doesn't feel right, and use a design system without hiding behind it. Performance instincts: you've optimised a frontend that pushed against the browser's limits and you know where to look first. Full-stack comfort: particularly around API design - you're happy reaching into the backend when a feature calls for it. Nice to have Experience working on creative tools or design software (Figma, Miro, Spline, tldraw, or similar). Familiarity with CAD or 3D modelling tools (Blender, Rhino, 3DS Max) or computer graphics in general. Experience designing and shipping products with i18n / l10n requirements. Why this role You'll work on a product that real architects use every day: including teams at leading architecture studios. The technical problem is genuinely novel: real-time collaborative canvas + AI + 3D, with hundreds of thousands of users already pushing on it. Small team, big surface area: you'll own the frontend in a real sense, not be one of fifty React engineers in a SaaS org. Meaningful equity: we firmly believe you should share in the company's future success - generous options are included alongside salary. What we offer This is a full-time hybrid role: 3 days a week in our London or Bristol office, and 2 days a week from home (in the UK). Stock options 25 days holiday, plus a day off during your birthday week Private medical, dental, and vision insurance Flexible well-being allowance (e.g. gym membership) Frequent company socials and events

The Team + The Role Pendo's Customer Engineering team is the technical backbone of the pre- and post-sales customer motion. The team brings together work across Customer Success, Technical Account Management, and Solutions Engineering into one full-lifecycle technical owner. Customer Engineering helps customers connect technical execution to business outcomes and realize the value of their investment in Pendo. As a Senior Customer Engineer you will own strategic and complex Enterprise accounts across acquisition, implementation, adoption, expansion, and escalation. You will lead technical strategy for complex deployments, resolve ambiguous customer challenges, and partner closely with account teams to drive retention, expansion, and customer value. Your impact will extend beyond your own accounts through playbooks, coaching, repeatable fixes, and workflow improvements that raise the capability of the broader Customer Engineering team. This role is based in our London office. What this looks like day-to-day New customer acquisition and selling: Partner with Account Directors on pre-sales motions for new customer acquisition, product expansion, and growth across lines of business. You identify customer pain, craft and deliver tailored demos, and lead technical evaluations through requirements gathering, success criteria, installation guidance, and hands on workshops. Quarterly business outcomes: Drive measurable improvement in customer health, retention, expansion, and technical resolution across strategic accounts. You contribute at least one reusable framework, playbook, or process that other Customer Engineers use and become a trusted advisor to Account Directors on account health and technical strategy. Adoption, expansion, and growth: Identify opportunities to expand adoption across underutilized features, untapped products, and new lines of business. When adoption stalls, you diagnose root causes, design a path forward, and connect technical work to measurable business outcomes. Complex implementations and value realization: Lead onboarding for strategic customers, including planning, implementation, integrations, and training. You build customer specific implementation playbooks, guide complex deployments with executive visibility, and ensure customers realize value during onboarding and over time. Team capability building: Build playbooks, document repeatable fixes, coach peers, and improve how Customer Engineering work gets done across the team. You use AI tools to accelerate content creation, surface patterns across accounts, and share practical workflow findings with the broader team. Early account impact: Assess account health, risks, stakeholder relationships, and the highest priority problems to solve within your portfolio. You establish trust with Account Directors and customer stakeholders, then independently lead complex customer interactions that move accounts forward. Technical escalation: Serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges raised by other Customer Engineers. You resolve ambiguous problems with multiple variables and tradeoffs, involving Product or Engineering only when truly needed. Who You Are Beyond the qualifications, we hire through a specific lens. These aren't buzzwords; they're the things we'll actually look for in how you talk about your work. You're a builder, not a maintainer. At Pendo, great Senior Customer Engineers don't just follow instructions; they operate as strategic advisors, influencing decisions, guiding stakeholders, and elevating how we work. You're AI curious - genuinely. You're not using AI tools occasionally. You're rewiring how you work around them. You're faster, sharper, and more prolific because of it, and you bring that energy to everything - how you approach your work, how you prep, how you communicate, how you think. We want someone who sees AI as a multiplier, not a shortcut.
