We are comprisedof more than 300 lawyers, legal specialists, technologists, and process consultants across Europe and North America - Join us! The Role Factor Law is hiring a Full Stack AI Engineer to build production-grade AI products for complex legal workflows. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can move confidently from backend architecture to frontend delivery, from document ingestion to user experience, and from prototype to production without waiting for detailed step-by-step instructions. You will join a high-autonomy product and engineering environment building AI-powered tools that help legal teams work faster, more accurately and with more confidence. The work will sit at the intersection of contract intelligence, document processing, retrieval, AI orchestration, workflow automation, enterprise authentication, asynchronous job handling and complex user interfaces. This role is for a builder. We are looking for someone who can use AI-assisted coding tools aggressively and responsibly, particularly Codex, while still owning correctness, security, maintainability and production quality. The right person will use AI to move faster, not to cut corners. Responsibilities Build production services using Python, FastAPI and Pydantic models. Develop APIs and backend workflows that support AI-enabled document and contract intelligence. Work with PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy and Alembic to model, migrate and operate reliable data layers. Build and maintain asynchronous job systems, including queue processing, retries, idempotency, dead-letter handling, cancellation, progress tracking and failure recovery. Use Redis for caching, transient state, job status and coordination, with sensible reliability patterns such as timeouts, circuitbreakers and graceful degradation. Build React and TypeScript interfaces that consume backend services cleanly and provide users with transparent job states, useful error handling and polished interaction patterns. Use TanStack Query for server state, including query key factories, cache invalidation, optimistic updates and polling patterns for long-running AI jobs. Support document-heavy workflows, including ingestion, retrieval, structured extraction, redlining, rich text editing and AI-assisted review. Build features that respect enterprise security expectations, including authentication, authorization, secure data handling and auditability. Operate within Azure-based environments, including services such as Blob Storage, Key Vault, managed databases, Redis and containerised deployments. Instrument production systems using Application Insights or equivalent observability tooling. Use AI coding tools to accelerate implementation, debugging, refactoring, testing and documentation, while maintaining high code quality. Improve developer experience by reducing boilerplate, improving test coverage, simplifying local setup and documenting repeatable patterns. Move fluidly between infrastructure and product delivery when needed. Essential Criteria 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent evidence of exceptional delivery. Strong production experience with Python and FastAPI. Strong working knowledge of Pydantic, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy and Alembic. Experience building React and TypeScript applications that consume real backend services. Demonstrable experience shipping production software, not only prototypes or internal scripts. Comfort working with asynchronous jobs, background workers or queue-based systems. Experience using Redis for caching, job status, state or coordination. Practical experience with Docker and cloud-hosted deployments. Strong ability to debug across backend, frontend, database, authentication and infrastructure layers. High fluency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code or similar. Ability to work with ambiguity and make progress without waiting for perfect specifications. Clear ownership mentality, including follow-through on edge cases, tests, production behavior and user impact. Legally eligible to work in the relevant location. We are dedicated to growing a diverse, inclusive company where individuals of all backgrounds thrive. Desirable Criteria Experience with Azure services, especially Blob Storage, Key Vault, managed PostgreSQL, managed Redis and containerised application hosting. Experience with enterprise authentication, especially Azure MSAL, OAuth/OIDC, token refresh, redirects and test-time auth bypasses. Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, document chunking, retrieval evaluation or LLM orchestration. Experience building legal tech, contract intelligence, document automation or professional services software. Familiarity with Radix UI, shadcn/ui, Tailwind CSS and design-token-first frontend systems. Experience with rich text or structured editing tools such as TipTap, Markdown editors or custom editor frameworks. Experience with Vite, code splitting, bundle monitoring, lazy-loading and performance optimisation. Experience with Application Insights, OpenTelemetry or similar production telemetry systems. SpAItial is pioneering the next generation World Models, pushing the boundaries of generative AI, computer vision, and simulation. We are moving beyond 2D pixels to build models that natively understand the physics and geometry of our world. Our mission is to redefine how industries, from robotics and AR/VR to gaming and cinema, generate and interact with physically grounded 3D environments. We're looking for bold, innovative individuals driven by a passion for tackling hard problems in generative 3D AI. You should thrive in an environment where creativity meets technical challenge, take pride in craft, and collaborate closely with a small team building frontier systems. We are seeking a Machine Learning Systems & Infrastructure Engineer to build and own the systems that turn raw real world data into trained world models and reliable production endpoints. You will design, implement, and operate scalable training stacks, data ingestion pipelines, experiment orchestration, and model serving for large diffusion based generative models. The role is hands on and code heavy - you will work inside the same monorepo as the research team, mostly in Python, and should be as comfortable refactoring a trainer class or a dataset loader as you are writing Terraform. Responsibilities Own and evolve the ML systems that enable training, evaluation, and serving of large foundation models - trainer, dataset loaders, checkpointing, and experiment orchestration code. Distributed training enablement: Improve high throughput training stacks (e.g., PyTorch DDP/FSDP, NCCL) for performance, stability, and reproducibility, including preemption safe and sharded checkpointing. Data systems and pipelines: Build end to end Python pipelines that turn third party capture sources into clean, versioned training datasets - including scraping (e.g., Playwright) and preprocessing - and optimize the underlying storage at petabyte scale (object storage, fuse mounts, caching layers, shared filesystems, and relational / analytical / embedded metadata stores). ML workflow orchestration and serving: Operate the systems researchers use to launch experiments, data jobs, and production endpoints - workflow engines (e.g., Kubeflow Pipelines, Airflow), GPU schedulers (e.g., Volcano, Slurm), experiment trackers (e.g., MLflow, Weights & Biases), and managed inference platforms (e.g., Modal, Triton) - and maintain a launcher SDK for one command runs. Containerization and packaging: Ship workloads with Docker and Kubernetes; maintain IaC (Terraform) for the surfaces you own and CI/CD pipelines, including self hosted GPU runners. Observability and reliability: Monitoring, logging, and alerting for job performance, data pipeline health, and cost (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry); define SLOs and incident response for the systems you own. Security and access: Manage secrets, IAM, and network boundaries (e.g., Tailscale, cloud VPC) for the systems you own. Collaboration: Partner with ML researchers, engineers, and the platform team to unblock training and data work and improve developer experience. Key Qualifications 3+ years writing production quality Python in a large, multi author codebase, with strong SWE fundamentals (ML systems experience strongly preferred). Hands on with modern ML training stacks (PyTorch; DDP/FSDP or comparable); have personally debugged distributed jobs across many GPUs and nodes. Have shipped non trivial end to end data pipelines at scale - ingestion, transformation, validation, versioning, republish - ideally including real world sources with rate limits, auth, or undocumented APIs. Hands on GPU compute and performance debugging (CUDA/NCCL, GPU utilization, networking bottlenecks, profiling). Working knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including object storage, IAM, and cost awareness. Proficient with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and comfortable reading and writing IaC (Terraform) for the surfaces you ship. Strong working knowledge of how to store and query large datasets at scale: SQL fundamentals; relational (e.g., Postgres), analytical (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake), and embedded (e.g., SQLite) stores; and object storage with caching layers. Familiarity with ML workflow orchestration and experiment tracking (e.g., Kubeflow Pipelines, MLflow). Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and CI/CD for infra and ML workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions). At SpAItial, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are an equal opportunity employer and ensure all candidates are treated fairly throughout the recruitment process.

About TORTUS At TORTUS we work with clinicians and hospitals to provide clinically safe and reliable AI. We use a combination of speech-to-text and LLM models to infer information about your visit with a clinician (GP, Paramedic, Surgery), and provide verified documentation and actions. Fundamentally, we are on a mission to eliminate human error in medicine. We've been doing this for the last 2 years, and 2025 saw our biggest increase in usage to date as we rolled out to a large proportion of UK GP surgeries and to London Ambulance and other notable organisations. A huge part of our growth comes from partnerships - embedding TORTUS into the products our partners already sell. X-on Health (60% of UK primary care telephony), Medicus and others. To scale this further, we need engineers who can build the integrations and SDKs that make these partnerships work. What we're looking for Experience building partner-facing integrations or SDKs that other developers use in production. If you've created embeddable experiences, designed clean APIs, or built technical products that partners integrate into their own systems - we want to talk to you. What else would be great 5+ Years of full-stack development experience Experience with SaaS products, creating for developers Experience with healthcare integrations (FHIR, HL7, EHR systems like EMIS, SystmOne, or Epic) Strong frontend skills (React, TypeScript) for building embedded UI experiences Experience with iFrame-based integrations and cross-origin communication Familiarity with authentication flows for embedded applications (OAuth2, SSO, shared auth) Experience working directly with external partners on technical implementations What does wild success look like? In 12-18 months, you've become the engineer our partners trust. You've extended the TORTUS SDK so new integrations take days instead of weeks. You've shipped embedded experiences that run seamlessly inside partner applications - handling patient context, audio capture, and write-back to clinical systems. You've built integrations with multiple new partners from scoping to production. Our partner-driven revenue has grown significantly, and a lot of that is because you made our technology easy to adopt and delightful to use. Where does this role take you? This is a high-impact role in a fast-growing squad with clear commercial targets. Excel here and you could grow into leading our entire partnerships engineering function, or specialise deeper into platform architecture and developer experience. You'll work directly with partners and shape product direction based on real market needs. We're building something that genuinely matters - your impact will be on technology that helps clinicians care for millions of patients. Our Stack Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Terraform GitOps & ArgoCD PostgreSQL + Redis Typescript across our stack (React, NestJS), Python/FastAPI for ML workloads with Pub/Sub for events Self-hosted ML models What We Offer £90-120k DOE + equity 28 days holiday + bank holidays Mon & Fri WFH optional - office-first culture Latest MacBook + the right equipment to make you at your best The chance to genuinely transform healthcare Location We are an office-first company based in the historic Holborn Town Hall.
