Responsibilities will include: Extensive experience of design in accordance with the IET 18th edition (BS7671) Input into the safety justifications of new or replacement control systems/components Experience of plant wide system design. Including, but not limited to; IT, telephone, public address, lighting, small power, fires systems, infrastructure Providing technical oversight to supply chain companies Familiar with security system design, ideally including ONR SyAPs Conversant with existing CAE tools (e.g. Auto CAD, Amtech Pro Design (Trimble) CAESAR, PDMS) Fluent in MS Office suite of programmes (Word, Excel, Project) Use of fault analysis and reliability assessments using recognised techniques such as FMEA, FTA, HAZID and HAZOP Engaging with clients to understand and develop technical requirements Ensuring compliance with client specifications and engineering standards Ensuring the requirements of the Health & Safety of Work act, CDM and applicable legislations are met Leading in the execution of high-quality engineering tasks to time, quality, budget and customer satisfaction The ability to work with minimal supervision, work effectively in a team and to meet deadlines, with demonstrable experience in estimating/scheduling/weekly progress reporting/CPI/SPI Management of engineering resources Mentor and support junior engineers in their development Develop and maintain excellent client relationships Essential: Professional registration with an appropriate institute. Degree qualified or equivalent (eg HNC/HND with significant experience) in relevant engineering discipline (e.g. Electronic / Electrical Engineering) Ability to work in UK and eligible to gain BPSS and CTC vetting (minimum security clearance) Typically, this person would have a minimum of 10 years' experience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear sector. An ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and requirement specifications Strong communication skills Knowledge of electrical systems, control systems and process instrumentation Experience with relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g. IEC 61508, 61511, 61513) Proven experience of leading technical teams in the successful delivery of CE&I engineering activities Desirable: Professionally registered as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer Experience of checking design deliverables, ideally in accordance with Sellafield' Ltd. checking process Awareness of software-based control systems (e.g. PLCs, FPGAs, SMART Components) Experience in the production and review of Verification and Validation Test Specifications Experience in functional safety determination, both probabilistic and deterministic Experience with the production and modification of safety cases based on modifications to plant Knowledge and experience of creating requirement definitions, preferably using formal definition tools Experience in the production, modification and review of User Requirement Specifications An appreciation for cyber security requirements and identifying associated risks Current possession of a P4 Sellafield pass and security 'SC' Level Experience of design delivery using the Sellafield Ltd Management System
