The IT Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering a high level of 1st line technical support. The role involves troubleshooting desktop technology, mobile gadgets and other group technology areas ensuring minimal downtime for staff and students. Award winning software development firm who is a market leader in the logistic industries with offices across the world currently seeks a skilled Control Systems Engineer due to increased workloads. The successful Control Systems Engineer will have the ability to design, develop, install, commission and support of control systems and hardware for automated technology. Key experience sought: Product Development ? PLC software development and testing - Siemens (Classic and/or TIA) and/or Rockwell (RS Logix 5000 and/or Studio 5000) ? HMI application development and testing ? Electrical and control system design – Eplan P8 is preferable but other Electrical CAD packages are fine i.e. AutoCAD Electrical or Promis-e ? Hardware specification & procurement ? Hardware configuration Customer Support ? Helpdesk ? Part of the out-of-hours support team – this is on a one week in four rota once 6 month training period is completed and will provide additional payment ? Customer liaison ? Generation of quotations for small controls projects ? Supporting Team Leader in generation of tender documentation and pricing for large control projects Project Management Support & Implementation ? On site installation, testing, commissioning & go-live support ? Customer training ? Supervision of sub-contractors during site implementation phases ? Generation & maintenance of documentation: functional specifications, manuals, project technical files, training and health & safety documentation, test plans The ideal candidate will come from a machinery based automation projects role and will be comfortable with staying away from home for commissioning phase. Sometimes this will include weekend or night shift working dependent on the client. Travel is not excessive working to roughly 80% office base to 20% site working.
