Requirements Our engineering teams already operate with reliability and devops practices in mind. As Starling engineering grows, we want to boost the adoption of these practices. This is where you would come in. The responsibilities of the role include: Design, author, run, and measure systems to improve our observability, incident response and general reliability posture. Collaborate with, support and educate other teams in order to establish key practices in their development lifecycle. Organise and participate in incident investigation and follow-up, to make sure we keep learning from incidents. An overview of the skills (not all required): Coding mindset, beyond simple scripting, in a major language (e.g., Java, Go, Python) and passion to reduce toil via automation. Good troubleshooting skills and interest in investigating to get to the bottom of problems. Like to take ownership of a feature from the original idea through to production. Experience with observability/monitoring/telemetry. Passionate about tracking progress or regression through indicators and setting objectives (SLIs/SLOs). Good understanding of Linux operating system concepts, containerisation, standard network protocols and running distributed systems at scale in public clouds (we operate in AWS). The team are responsible end-to-end Regulatory Reporting, and for this role they are looking for somebody with significant experience in Robotics Automation and technical skills in UIPath, Excel and SQL, to work on automating Position Reporting flows and creating Controls around the Regulatory pathways and workflows. The focus is a mixture on building UIPath capability from scratch and also enhancing existing UIPath workflows. Key responsibilities will include running User-Attended processes, Web Browser automation, Data Entry and Logic-based process flow controls. The role is for an initial 6-12 month contract but there is an opportunity to go permanent down the line if both sides were agreeable.
