Security Architect (Network Security) Location -Warwick / Wokingham/ Hybrid About the Role We are seeking an experienced Security Architect (Network Security) to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade network security solutions. This role will play a critical part in safeguarding infrastructure, ensuring compliance with global standards, and driving a proactive security posture across the organization. You will work closely with cross-functional IT teams, influence security strategy, and provide expert guidance on best practices in a highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Design, architect, and maintain network security infrastructure including Firewalls, IDPS, Proxies, Load Balancers, VPNs, and WAFs. Develop and manage firewall policies, network access controls, IAM solutions, MFA, RBAC, and privilege management . Ensure alignment of security measures with compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS). Conduct regular security audits and assessments to identify and remediate risks. Apply industry frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, CIS Controls . Oversee and enhance security technologies: SIEM, vulnerability management, cloud security (OCI/Azure/AWS), PKI, cryptography, web/email security, logging and monitoring . Monitor network traffic for anomalies and potential breaches. Collaborate with IT teams (network engineers, sysadmins, developers) to ensure a holistic approach to security. Communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executives. Provide training and mentorship on network security best practices. Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures. Knowledge & Experience Minimum 8-10 years' experience in network security, with at least 5 years as a Security Consultant, Security Architect, or equivalent . Proven expertise in Palo Alto Networks Firewalls (mandatory). Strong understanding of LAN, WAN, DMZ architectures, routing, switching, and subnetting . Hands-on experience with cloud security (Azure, AWS, OCI). Familiarity with solution delivery lifecycles (SDLC), Agile frameworks, and security tools . Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts for executives. Qualifications & Certifications Relevant certifications such as Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE, F5, CompTIA, Zscaler, Azure, AWS, CISSP, CCSP, ISSAP, ITIL (preferred).
