The University of Glasgow is seeking to appoint a talented and highly motivated IT Infrastructure Manager.
Reporting to the Computing Support Manager, the post holder will take a leading role in managing and maintaining the school’s IT Infrastructure, which is essential for the research, teaching and professional services of Psychology and Neuroscience. Job Purpose

Resolve or support the resolution of complex or escalated customer technical issues;

Our Client is a Pan-European Corporate Blue Chip Group of Companies that is currently undertaking several major Business Systems Transformation & Implementation Programmes. They are now looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer / BI Engineer with experience & knowledge across a broad base of BI Tools & Business Intelligence Solutions Delivery, who can work with Key Stakeholders based across the business
Key Responsibilities of the BI Engineer role will include:
•Deliver Measurable Value to Business Units, by taking Technical role in Delivery of both large and small Business Intelligence Projects & contribute to IT Architecture Strategy, Roadmaps & Capabilities
•Primarily focus on Application Development, Data Analysis & Prototyping
•Undertake Business Requirements Gathering, BI Solution Architecture, Agile Project Leadership & Analytics
•Identify Opportunities for Innovation in Delivery, Technology & Methodology Best Practices both Externally & Internally to Improve Delivery Performance & Team Capabilities
•Working with BI Analysts and with wider IT to Deliver Improved Analytics Capabilities to the business.
•Take Ownership of Application Development & Data Analysis efforts and help establish best practices
•Innovate & Test New Technologies with relevance to BI & Analytics, including POCs, Assessments & Business Case Development
•Deliver BI Solutions to Support Business Enquiries & Analytical Demands using available BI Tools or Custom Solutions
•Support Solution Evaluation & Selection Decisions; Buying & Building Decisions & Early-Phase Project Estimates which contribute to the creation of business case
•Support Development of Information Architecture & Engineering Standards, Roadmaps & Blueprints
•Undertake Business Analysis & Business Process Analysis as part of Solution Design Process
•Establish Strong Working Relationships with Customer Groups to develop an in-depth understanding of business priorities
•Maintain Professional Development in Analytics & BI Tools, Business Intelligence Techniques, Master Data Management, Information Management & Architecture and Vendors
Key Skills & Experience of the Business Intelligence Engineer Required:
•5 years+ Business Intelligence experience or Solution Delivery experience, ideally within Financial or Development Domains
•Good Influencing & Innovation Skills
•Strong Interpersonal Skills & Passion for Customers
•Ability to Make Decisions Under Pressure
