Data Engineer
Airedale Group
Company Overview Airedale Group is the UK's leading design, installation and maintenance provider for commercial kitchens in the hospitality and food service industry - working with clients from initial design through bespoke fabrication, installation and ongoing maintenance, backed by one of the largest bodies of professional maintenance engineers in the country. We are expanding rapidly, employing circa 750 people across multiple UK locations. Job Overview We're looking for a data engineer ready to outgrow the world of Power BI dashboards and help us take our data platform to the next level. Our reporting runs on Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, and it gives us a solid foundation to build on. The opportunity now is to evolve it - moving the heavy lifting upstream into a properly engineered data platform, with aggregation and transformation handled closer to source and the right information surfaced intelligently to the people who need it. In that model, Power BI and Fabric become a lean, fast presentation layer fed by clean, pre-computed data. You won't be expected to architect this alone - the direction is set and evolving with the wider technology team. You will be a genuine partner in delivering it: someone who can hold a real technical conversation, implement with confidence, and say when an approach won't work in practice. What it does offer is real autonomy and the scope to shape how data is handled across a growing business. Key Responsibilities Work alongside our current Fabric and Power BI estate, keeping reporting running smoothly while we evolve the platform. Refine and optimise existing pipelines and models, and build new ones using modern, event-driven approaches. Implement the next generation of our data platform alongside the technology team, moving aggregation and transformation closer to source. Automate manual reporting and data processes, giving time back to the business. Get out into the business - visit sites, sit with teams, run informal workshops - to understand how data is really used and where it can do more. Take personal ownership of data quality, consistency and accuracy across the platform. Sit alongside analysts and stakeholders to understand how they actually use data - listening first, before solving. Proactively spot opportunities for automation and integration that drive efficiency across the business. Help shape how we work as a data function: standards, documentation and ways of working. Experience Required Knows the Power BI / Fabric world, but isn't wedded to it. If you've started to feel the limits of dashboard-led BI and you're curious about where modern data engineering is heading, you'll fit right in. Has strong SQL and real data-modelling judgement - able to build efficient models from scratch and improve existing ones. Uses AI and modern development tools effectively while applying the judgment needed to validate and own the final result. Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. Takes ownership - investigating issues, following through and sharing knowledge with others. Brings curiosity and adaptability, and is happy to be mobile - travelling between sites and sitting alongside the people who use our data. Has strong attention to detail and cares about producing accurate, trusted data. Looks for continuous improvement opportunities and ways to make processes faster, cleaner and more automated. Documents work clearly so solutions can be supported, understood and improved over time. What we offer 23 days of annual leave (Increasing with LOS) Private Health Insurance & Health Care Cashplan Retail discounts on a wide range of products and services

AI Engineer
Planet Paymet
About Us Planet is a leading technology company transforming payments by putting customer experience first. We offer integrated solutions that include payment processing, VAT refunds, dynamic currency conversion, and management services for merchants in the Retail and Hospitality sectors worldwide. In recent years, we have experienced significant growth, expanding our services and global presence. With strong private equity investors, Advent International and Eurazeo, we have the financial capital and expertise to grow our capabilities and reach through acquisitions. Our mission is to create a world of connected commerce where payments are simple, secure, and seamless, enabling our partners to deliver exceptional experiences to their customers. Role Overview: This role owns the design, delivery, and ongoing behaviour of production AI workflows that automate and augment work across Planet's internal systems - HR, Finance, Operations, and CRM. You will be accountable not only for shipping the technology, but for the quality of the decisions it makes: building agents, prompts, and retrieval pipelines that business users can trust, and improving them over time through measurement and real-world feedback. The impact is direct - reliable, auditable AI that reduces manual effort and raises the quality and speed of everyday decisions across the business. What you will do: Design and build production-grade AI workflows that integrate across internal systems (HR, Finance, Operations, CRM). Implement the orchestration logic - triggers, retries, fallbacks, and human-in-the-loop patterns - so workflows run reliably, observably, and auditably. Develop and maintain the AI agents, prompts, retrieval pipelines, and decision logic that power those workflows. Own model behaviour in production: accuracy and usefulness, failure modes, and edge-case and ambiguity handling. Iterate on model performance using evaluation frameworks, feedback loops, and real-world usage data. Take accountability for decision quality and outcomes - not just technical execution - defining and tracking success metrics such as accuracy, resolution rate, and time saved. Diagnose cases where systems are technically "working" but producing poor outcomes, and close the gap. Partner with Data Engineering on shared platforms (infrastructure, CI/CD, data pipelines, security and governance) and contribute to shared standards, schemas, and best practices for AI systems. Who you are: Strong software engineering background (Python or similar), with a track record of building production systems - not just prototypes. Hands-on experience with AI / ML systems (LLMs, classifiers, decision models, or similar). Experience integrating APIs and working with distributed systems. Experience designing prompts, retrieval pipelines, or ML inference workflows. Solid understanding of model evaluation, monitoring, and feedback loops; comfortable working with both structured and unstructured data. Product-oriented - cares about outcomes, not just shipping code; pragmatic about AI and focused on what works in production. Comfortable owning ambiguity and making trade-overs. Languages: English A plus, but not required: workflow orchestration tools (Temporal, Airflow, Step Functions); experience building internal tools or agents; familiarity with regulated or enterprise environments; exposure to MLOps or AI evaluation frameworks. Why Planet Planet Planet is an equal opportunity employer where diversity is valued, and all employment is decided based on qualifications, merit, and business need. Come and grow your career in the most exciting, fast paced technology market, with a business that delivers feel-good connected commerce. We would love to hear from you. At Planet, we embrace a hybrid work model, with three days a week in the office. Reasonable accommodations may be made in order to allow for an individual to perform the essential functions of this role successfully. Company Background Planet provides integrated software, payment and technology solutions for its customers in the Hospitality and Retail sectors and worldwide via a network of global Financial Services Partners.
