I have a new role for an experienced QA/ QA Lead to join my client going in as the first QA for the company. The company is a fully remote scale up with very occasional team catchups that will be somewhere in the South West of England (they no longer have a physical office so have a completely remote tech team). They have been building a brilliant product that helps businesses to provide benefits and keep their employees feel looked after, motivated and engaged. They have a dev team of 6 developers and are now looking to hire their very first QA They are looking for someone to essentially set up their test processes and test strategy across their web based product initially (this will eventually also include a mobile version further down the line) and obviously be super hands on too. They are also keen to get automation implemented so would love someone with automation experience who can built out their automation , but the developers can help out if needed so that it won't necessarily all come down to you to do it all. You'll work to instil a culture of quality amongst their dev team and help promote best practice around qa/ testing You'll create and implement a QA strategy that encompasses both feature and automation testing, through to deployment and you must also be comfortable integrating this strategy into their Azure DevOps and deployment processes. You will have a completely blank canvass to decide what tools to use for automation, so it is a great opportunity to use your experience to get thinks set up in the best way you see fit. Their ideal person will be an experienced Tester who ideally has been involved in creating and building processes from the ground up, including automation , who is confident going in as the first qa. They would really love someone who has done this sort of things before and you'll also need to be proficient in ensuring quality standards in CI/ CD pipelines. Salary is anywhere from 55,000 up to 65,000 plus great benefits including a bonus scheme they are currently sorting out, 35 hour working week, contributory pension, 27 days holiday, and a whole range of extra benefits through their benefits platform. I have an exciting opportunity for a tester with experience of testing Saas or Salesforce applications to join my client with an office in Cardiff. They are an exciting startup with a financial product due to launch soon. They are made up a team of brilliant people who have been there and done this before and are now building a company even bigger and better. Due to it being an exciting time in their journey for them as they get ready to launch, they would like people happy to come into the office 2/3 days a week ideally although they are open to discussions around this for the right person. They are already a team of 50 so far with two dev teams of around 5/6 developers each and have been building their product over the past year ready to launch in the next few months. They are in the processes of building a brand new QA team to ensure the quality of the products they are building They recently hired their very first QA to start getting processes in place around testing, have just hired a second and are now looking for a third to join them with the plan to have a QA embedded as part of both their agile teams. The current focus is on launching the project in the next few months which utilizes Salesforce as a SaaS (Software as a Service) system to manage all the processes involved with their customers. QA and Testing is still at very early stages and since there isn't a lot in place yet there is the opportunity to contribute to discussions and help shape the strategy and tools used. At the moment they are using Postman for API testing (but this may change) and are considering record and playback tools for UI testing, so solid knowledge around API testing or UI automation would be useful (although automation isn't essential). You'll work closely with their Product Owners right from the requirements stage, challenging assumptions, asking questions, and writing test cases. The technology stack is focused on Salesforce, with MuleSoft for API management and due to the system being Salesforce based it relies more on configuration than on heavy coding, presenting a challenge for Testers as configurations can change faster than tests can be updated. As a result developing robust regression packs is crucial. In an ideal world they are looking for a mid/senior level QA/ Tester who would have worked with Saas or Salesforce systems before as they can be a little bit different to test compared to usual software products so it would certainly make life easier, but, they wouldn't also rule out local people who are keen to learn this. Any UI automation experience would be beneficial but isn't absolutely essential. Salary is anywhere between 45,000 and 60,000 dependent on experience plus 25 days holiday and bank holiday, matched pension of up to 8%, Life Assurance 4 x salary and Private Medical If you'd like to hear more please apply below to Sam Miller at SR2 - Socially Responsible Recruitment
